Step 2

Review the delivered set of furniture for defects and the presence of all elements. If you find a shortage or mismatch, you can contact the supplier or buy in addition what is missing yourself.

Step 3

Read the instructions for assembling that kit kitchen furniture, which you purchased. In kitchens produced by different manufacturers, there may be some installation features that should be taken into account.

Step 4

Remove everything unnecessary from the room to make room for assembly, remove all garbage. Floors must be clean.

Note! To avoid damaging the floor covering during the installation of cabinets, you can cover the floor with a tarpaulin or other cloth.

After preparing and checking the tools, furniture elements and premises, you can begin the assembly itself.

The nuances of assembling a kitchen set

In order to properly assemble the kitchen, you must first familiarize yourself with the features and installation rules.

  1. Installation of kitchen furniture begins from the corner, if the set is corner. A linear kitchen begins to be assembled from the cabinet that will rest against the wall.

  2. It is not recommended to assemble all cabinets at once. Only after one assembled module is installed in place do they begin to assemble the next one. This helps avoid cluttering the space.
  3. There should be a distance of half a centimeter between the countertop and the wall.

  4. You should not install fronts on the upper cabinets right away. Without doors it will be easier to hang the modules.
  5. Drawer slides are attached to the inside surface of the side walls until the cabinets are assembled.

Kitchen installation

Opinions are divided on whether to start installing a kitchen with upper or lower cabinets. Some experts believe that already installed floor cabinets can interfere with the process of installing wall cabinets. According to other furniture makers, you need to start from the bottom row, from which the height of the upper cabinets is already measured.

You can choose the option that is convenient for you. We will describe the first case. But first you need to tell general principle collecting cabinets and drawers.

How to properly assemble headset elements

Some of the most convenient kitchen appliances are drawers. If we're talking about For narrow cabinets, for example, bottle holders, then the guides for the drawers are secured in them before the box itself is assembled. If the cabinet is wide enough, then installation of all fastenings for drawers is carried out after assembling the module.

At the preliminary stage, the crosspiece from the door hinges is also attached to the designated places. After this, they proceed directly to assembling the box.

Step 1. Take the side wall of the box and place it end-to-end on a flat surface so that the front part looks up.

Step 2. Join the cabinet wall to the bottom at right angles and secure the connection with confirmations. In factory kitchens, holes for Euroscrews are usually already prepared.

Step 3. The other side wall is attached in the same way.

Step 4. After this, two upper strips are installed if the lower pedestals are assembled. Wall cabinets have a lid installed.

Note! The ends of the side walls should be flush with the bottom, as well as the lid or top strips.

Step 5. Place the cabinet with the front side down on a flat surface and measure its diagonals, the difference between the lengths of which should not be more than 1.5 mm.

Step 6. Fix the back wall of the cabinet with staples or nails, placing them at a distance of 7 cm from each other. To make the rear part more durable, some experts use nails and furniture staples screws are used.

Note! The cabinet over which the sink will be installed does not have a back wall, but is often equipped with an additional stiffening rib.

Step 7 Adjustable legs are attached to the bottom of floor cabinets. The distance from them to the nearest edges should be about 50 mm. Legs can be metal or plastic.

In the first case, they perform not only support, but also decorative function. Upon completion of kitchen installation, plastic products are covered with a plinth strip. Suspended structures supplied with loops for mounting to the wall.

The drawer is assembled according to the same principle.

Step 1. Four planks are connected to each other at right angles to form a box.

Step 2. Diagonals are measured, the lengths of which should not differ from each other.

Step 3. The guides are fixed to the side walls of the box.

Step 4. Mount the front of the box using screws. Sometimes the front wall of the box can serve as a facade. In this case, it is attached to the side crossbars using an eccentric. But such a design is rarely found in modern kitchens.

We measure the diagonal, both diagonals should be the same

It is better to assemble the drawers after the upper cabinets and lower cabinets have been assembled and installed.

As noted above, so that the lower row of cabinets does not interfere, many experts recommend hanging the upper cabinets first.

First of all, correctly mark the mounting location. To do this, set aside the height from the floor at which the bottom of the cabinets will be located. If the person who will work in the kitchen most often has average height, then for the bottom of the cabinet it is recommended to measure 1.3 - 1.4 m. Then, from this mark, the height of the cabinets themselves is also set upward and the line where the fasteners will be installed is marked. The line must be smooth and horizontal, which is checked using the mounting level.

Note! The distance between the tabletop and the upper section should be about 0.6 m. Therefore, if you decide to start installation from the lower cabinets, then measure this distance upward from them to select the mounting height of the upper cabinets.

You can hang cabinets in different ways:

  • the traditional option involves the use of mounting loops;
  • in the second case, a rail is used, which is mounted to the wall, and a kind of hook attached to the back wall of the cabinet and clinging to the rail.

Note! An exhaust air duct and a gas pipe often pass through the upper section of the headset. For this reason, in all cabinets it is necessary to first cut out holes for these communications using a jigsaw or hacksaw. All cut areas must be treated with sealant.

The first method of installing wall cabinets includes the following steps.

  • along the line drawn on the wall, mark the place of the first fastening and drill a hole with a hammer drill;
  • fasteners are inserted into the hole;
  • hang the cabinet on one hinge on the mount and, continuing to hold the module, level it using a spirit level and mark the place where you need to drill a hole for the second fastener for this cabinet;
  • After installing the second fastener, hang and finally level the cabinet.

This procedure is repeated for all cabinets.

The second mounting method makes it easier to install the upper section. It should be taken into account that in this case it is not possible to attach the cabinets flush to the wall. This installation of upper cabinets, although expensive, is very simple:

  • first, a special metal strip is attached along the line drawn on the wall;
  • special hanging devices like hooks are screwed to the upper corners of the back wall of the cabinets using screws;
  • hook the hooks onto the rail;
  • level the cabinet.

When the entire top row is mounted and leveled, the cabinets need to be tightened together with furniture screws.

Installation of lower cabinets

After the installation of the upper sections is completed, you can begin installing the floor cabinets.

Note! In the lower cabinets you will also need to make holes and recesses for sewer, water and gas pipes, as well as for connecting electrical appliances to the network.

Step 1. Starting from the corner, the cabinet is installed in place.

Step 2. Adjust the legs of the cabinet.

Step 3. Other cabinets are also installed and adjusted in height.

Step 4. They tighten the adjacent cabinets with a clamp, and then with a furniture tie.

After this, the tabletop is installed on the cabinets. First you need to cut out a hole in it with a jigsaw for washing.

  1. To do this, lay the tabletop on the cabinets the way it will lie after installation.
  2. Then choose the location of the sink and mark it with a pencil.
  3. A hole is cut out using a jigsaw along the marked contour in the table top.
  4. Treat the cut with silicone sealant.

If necessary, make a hole in the tabletop for hob and for communications.

After this, you can put the table cover back in place. This is often done using furniture corners that are screwed to the side walls of cabinets. The tabletop is laid on the cabinets and leveled.

If the lid of the cabinets consists of two parts, then they are connected using metal strips as follows:

  • Using a hacksaw, the plank is cut to the width of the tabletop;
  • coat one surface of the plank with sealant;
  • attach it with screws to the cut of the tabletop;
  • Lubricate the other surface of the metal rail with sealant and immediately join it to the other part of the table top.

After this, fix the tabletop on the cabinets by screwing screws into the holes in the furniture corners.

Final stage

Completing the installation does not require as much physical effort as it does require careful work. After all, it depends on this stage appearance headset.

  1. At the junction of the countertop and the wall there is a gap, which is covered with a plinth.
  2. After this, the doors are hung. They are adjusted using special hinge bolts.
  3. At the same stage, drawers and built-in appliances are installed, lighting fixtures are installed, and the facades and basement plan are installed.
  4. I put it in place and connect the sink.

The kitchen is now ready for use.

After completing your kitchen renovation, you will probably decide to buy a new kitchen set. As a rule, stores provide assembly services for an additional fee. But why pay money when you can save? After all, assembling a kitchen with your own hands is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.

To assemble the kitchen yourself, you will need a minimal set of tools.

    • A screwdriver - any one will do, even the cheapest one. Its presence will significantly simplify the assembly process.
    • A hammer drill with a set of drills and an adapter for a drill with a wood drill. It is needed if you want to hang cabinets on concrete wall. For wooden walls You can also use a screwdriver with a drill.
    • A hacksaw or jigsaw to cut off the tabletop.
    • You also need to have a hex key for installing furniture fasteners; some manufacturers add it to the hardware kit.
    • And, of course, standard tools that should be in every home: a hammer, a corner, a level, a knife-cutter, a tape measure and pliers.

Kitchen assembly process

If you have never assembled furniture before, be sure to read the standard instructions before assembling the kitchen. It schematically shows which parts are used for what, and also indicates the order of work.

If you screw a part into the wrong place, you will have to disassemble it, and this will reduce the strength of the connection. This is especially true for cheap cabinets made from chipboard modules; often their doors are torn out along with the roots.

    • First of all, a cross-shaped mount for the doors is attached to the side boards. They are screwed with two self-tapping screws into pre-prepared holes.
    • Attach rails to the side walls for drawers, then it will be inconvenient to do this.
    • Then wooden choppers are inserted into all non-through holes (they are also often called dowels or wooden dowels) to make the initial fastening. These parts help to assemble a more even frame and also increase the strength of the structure. It is best to plant them with glue. Insert a dowel into one hole, put the second one on its end and squeeze them together.

  • Then, making sure that the parts are located evenly, screw in a furniture screw using a hexagon, it will finally tighten the two parts. A plastic plug is placed on top to match the color of the furniture.
  • Next, if there are legs, screw them into place and adjust the height. In cheap kitchens, usually instead of adjustable legs there are regular ones. plastic nozzles-, which are nailed from below so as not to damage the panels.
  • After assembling the cabinet, nail it to the side wall fiberboard sheet.
  • Mounting hardware must be secured to wall cabinets. Typically, adjustable awnings are now used for this purpose. They are attached to the side walls of the cabinet close to the top corners.

The process of assembling the wall cabinet can be seen in this video:

Assembling drawers

    • The walls for the drawers themselves are assembled in the same way as the cabinets - they are tightened with screws.
    • Assemble 3 walls and insert a sheet of fiberboard into the bottom.
    • Then the front of the box is secured. An eccentric tie is usually used for this.

Eccentric tie for fastening the front door
  • To attach it, first screw the screw into the facade, and then insert the end with the cap into the holes on the side walls. On the side parts there is a large round hole Inside the cabinet there is a socket for the bushing. You need to insert the sleeve into the hole and turn it so that it grabs the screw head that will go on the side. To make it easier to understand its structure, just look at the mounting diagram in the photo.
  • Next on bottom corners screw the roller guides onto the drawer. The roller on the drawer guide should be located at the back, and on the inside - at the front.
  • Then simply insert the guides into each other at an angle, and the assembly of the drawer is complete.

Kitchen installation

Let's proceed to the second stage - installing the kitchen in place. We are not hanging the doors yet, they will get in the way.

  • First of all, a side cabinet is installed, usually a sink. To allow pipes to pass here, make holes in the hardboard wall in advance.
  • Then the following floor cabinets are installed. They are immediately adjustable in height and, if necessary, cuts are made in them.
  • After installing all the cabinets, tie them together. To do this, use 30 mm self-tapping screws or an intersectional furniture tie. The second option is more reliable, since the screws have too small heads and can come out along with the roots. It will be enough to have 4 ties for floor cabinets and 2 pieces for wall cabinets.

Sink mount

    • If you decide to install a built-in sink, you need to make a round hole in the countertop. To embed the sink into the countertop, mark and drill a round hole large diameter. Next, according to the markings, cut off the tabletop with a jigsaw and screw it onto special fasteners, which comes with the kit.
    • It is most convenient to do this before attaching the tabletop. Don't forget to seal the joint along the edge with sealant!

You definitely need an assistant who can support the tabletop when cutting, otherwise the piece will fall off and tear off part of the coating. To do this job yourself, you can first apply masking tape to the countertop. After you saw off the round hole, the piece will remain hanging on the tape.

  • Fastening the built-in plate occurs in the same way, but it is better to do it at the end so as not to damage the equipment.
  • Installing a regular sink on a cabinet is much easier. You just need to screw it on from the bottom with self-tapping screws.

Fastening the table top

    • Mark the tabletop, adding a 1 mm overlap from the edges, or attach it flush to the wall. It’s okay if there is a gap in the wall, you can then hide it with a plinth.
    • Use a fine-tooth jigsaw to cut the tabletop to size.
    • IN corner kitchen The tabletops are joined using a special metal strip that closes the gap between the two tables. It is screwed onto the end of the tabletop.
    • Be sure to cover the ends of the stove with a finishing metal strip. In places where there is no heat, you can use it for this purpose. It is glued using a hair dryer onto a smooth and clean cutting surface.

    • When securing the tabletop, install it with an allowance of about 3 cm in front so that the edges are flush. Fastening occurs from below using self-tapping screws.

Attaching the wall panel

    • If you decide not to make a glass, tile or mosaic splashback in your kitchen, there is a good and quick way protect the work surface from moisture and grease - wall panels. They are usually sold in sizes of 3 m in length and allow you to quickly and reliably protect the space above the kitchen table.
    • The panels are fastened using regular dowels. The hats are hidden by cabinets, so when marking, take this into account and leave an allowance. The dowels should be placed approximately 1 cm from the edge of the panel.

Wall cabinets must be mounted at least 60 cm above the countertop, otherwise it will be inconvenient to cook.

  • To cut a hole for the socket, you will need a special drill attachment - a crown.

Fastening wall cabinets

Hangers for wall mounting
  • Step back at least 60 cm from the tabletop and make a mark on the walls. Step back from it to the height of the cabinets and draw a line for their fastening.
  • Drill holes and secure the bar (tire). You will hang adjustable hangers on it. Fastening to the wall with anchors is more reliable than with dowel-nails.
  • Hang the cabinet on the rail using the hooks. To ensure that the cabinet hangs level and close to the wall, adjust the 2 bolts on the hangers by tightening or loosening them.
  • Start installation from a corner. If the wall is uneven or has an angle of less than 90 degrees, then you will need to attach a false panel to hide the gap.
  • After installation, secure the cabinets with zip ties.

Door fastening

    • Now you can hang the doors on the cabinets. To do this, secure the hinges with screws in round recesses on the facade.
    • Place the door on the cross-shaped plates that you screwed in at the very beginning and tighten the bolts.
    • Then close the door and check its position. Adjust it horizontally and vertically using two bolts.

Adjust the height of the doors using screws on the hinges

Final work

We close the gap between the table and the wall by installing a plastic plinth. Its first part is attached to the wall with self-tapping screws, and a decorative attachment is snapped on top. Special caps are used to decorate corners. Usually inside the baseboard you can place hidden wiring.
Next is the installation household appliances, . For gas stove fix the hood at a height of 75-85 cm, and for an electric one - 65-75 cm. To hide it in the closet, provide a hole for the air duct in the upper wall of the closet in advance.

What are the stages of assembly?

Instructions for assembling the kitchen will allow you to do it yourself. By following the installation technology, you can install the headset in the shortest possible time. Kitchen assembly begins with the installation of cabinets. At the same time, hanging and floor structures are assembled.

The installation process consists of several steps. Wall cabinets are mounted according to the same principle as lower structures. But there are differences.

Drawers are not installed. Facades are produced at the stage of installation of fastening to the wall.

Assembly of floor elements and wall cabinets

The assembly instructions assume sequential operation. First, floor and wall structures are installed. Often a cabinet is used as a floor element.

Installation consists of the following steps:

  1. The sidewalls are being prepared. To do this, drawer guides are mounted using self-tapping screws.
  2. To fasten the panels, special choppers are inserted into the holes. These parts make it easier to assemble the case. The second panel is put on fastener and snuggles.
  3. The panels are tightened using screws and a hex key. Then the holes are covered with plugs.
  4. In the upper part, two slats are installed on which the tabletop is attached.
  5. The rear wall is installed using brackets.
  6. Using a screwdriver, the legs are mounted on the floor cabinets. In some cases, plastic pads are used instead of legs. A level is used during installation.
  7. Wall mounted structures are equipped with wall mounts.

Wall cabinets must be assembled as correctly as possible, as they are the main furniture for dishes

Installation of a kitchen set begins with cabinets, cabinets or pencil cases. A side element is installed, which is the basis for communications. Holes are made in it for various pipes and wires.

Floor elements are connected using self-tapping screws or furniture ties.

During the work process, special accessories are used:

  1. The mounting rail is used to firmly attach the cabinet to the wall surface.
  2. Adjustment screws allow you to adjust the position of the kitchen structure.

Before assembly, check the presence of fasteners. In some cases, press-mounted structures are used, which do not require additional fasteners.

Intersectional ties are used to connect elements together.

Sink installation

The design of the set provides for fastening the sink.

In this case, installation is carried out in several stages:

  1. To mount the sink, holes are cut in the countertop. After marking, the hole is cut using a jigsaw.
  2. When cutting out a place for a sink, masking tape is glued to the surface, then the sawn-off piece will hang on it.

It’s easier if you use a standard sink rather than a built-in one.

Installation also depends on the type of sink

Features of installation of wall panels and countertops

This assembly sequence includes mounting the countertop and attaching the wall panels.

The tabletop is being marked. The work surface should be attached to the wall. The gap is hidden by a plinth.

Schemes for assembling furniture with a tabletop consist of the following steps:

  1. Using a jigsaw, excess elements are sawed off and the tabletop is adjusted to fit.
  2. involves the use of a metal strip, which is mounted on the end of the working panel and covers the gap between the elements.
  3. The end elements near the stove are covered with special films, and in other places with furniture edges.
  4. The tabletop is mounted using self-tapping screws.

Wall over work surface closes wall panels. To properly assemble the kitchen set, dowels are used. Panels are mounted on them.

In such structures, holes are cut for sockets.

To improve the quality of furniture, all joints are treated with a special sealant.

Assembly of suspended structures

To assemble a kitchen set yourself, you need to take careful measurements. To fix hanging structures, 500 mm is measured from the surface of the tabletop.

Anyone who knows the dimensions will assemble the furniture correctly

Then the hanging element is measured and a line for fastening is marked.

  1. The hanger bar is installed.
  2. The cabinet is mounted on grooves. In this case, the hooks cling to the holes.
  3. It is necessary to assemble the kitchen corner cabinet first. If there are irregularities on the wall, then a false panel is used.
  4. Suspended structures are secured with ties.

Installation of drawers

Installing pull-out shelves will help you properly assemble a corner kitchen yourself.

The following actions are performed:

  1. Frames are assembled from three panels using choppers.
  2. A fiberboard sheet is mounted in the grooves, which serves as the bottom.
  3. The facade is secured using special ties. In this case, the screws are inserted into the front part, and the ends of the fasteners into the side panels.
  4. Guides with rollers are attached to the bottom of the drawer.
  5. The drawers are inserted at an angle into the guides. It is worth checking the ease of movement of the structure.

Final work

The space between the wall and the tabletop is covered with a special plinth. To do this, a guide is mounted to the wall surface using dowels, which is covered with a decorative overlay.

Stages of assembling kitchen furniture

How to assemble kitchen furniture? The kitchen installation procedure is carried out in several successive stages. The process begins with assembling the box, after which the drawers are assembled and the upper cabinets are mounted. Only then are the lower drawers of the structure installed.

Box assembly

Furniture assembly begins with the formation of a box. To do this, follow the following steps:

  • the side wall of the box is installed on a solid and flat surface with its end facing, and the fronts should be located at the top;
  • the wall of the cabinet is correctly connected to the bottom, and only at a right angle, after which they are connected to each other, for which confirmations are used, and for Euroscrews in factory-made kitchens there are already holes;
  • on the other side, the second side wall is fixed in the same way;
  • two upper strips are mounted on each side of the structure if lower drawers are assembled, and a lid is installed for wall drawers;
  • the cabinet is laid with the front facing down, after which its diagonal is measured using a ruler, since the values obtained in different cabinets are not allowed to differ from each other by more than 1.5 mm;
  • the back wall is attached to the cabinets, for which staples or small nails are usually used;
  • for floor-standing cabinets, legs are attached to the bottom, and they can be made of plastic or metal.

During work, it is necessary to check that the ends of all side walls of the boxes are flush with the bottom and lid, for which measuring equipment is used.

Assembling drawers

The next stage of kitchen installation is the correct assembly of the drawers, which are required in this design. Without them, any kitchen becomes uncomfortable and roomy. To do this, follow the following steps:

  • a box is made, for which four planks are fixed to each other at right angles;
  • all such blanks must have the same diagonal;
  • guides are attached to the side walls of each resulting box;
  • facades are fixed using screws;
  • At the bottom of the drawer, special response latches are mounted, allowing you to attach the drawers to the guides.

Once the drawers are ready, installation of the upper wall cabinets begins.

Installation of upper cabinets

They must be securely and efficiently attached to the wall of the room. At the same time, using kitchen furniture for its intended purpose will not be difficult. This process is divided into successive stages:

  • Initially, the attachment points of all cabinets are marked, for which the optimal height is set aside from the floor, which determines the distance from it to the bottom shelf of the cabinet;
  • during the selection process optimal height the height of the person acting as a regular user of the kitchen is taken into account;
  • the height of the tabletop is also determined in advance so that there is a distance of at least 0.6 m from it to the top cabinet;
  • lines are drawn from the applied marks, indicating the locations of future fasteners, and with a level you should make sure that the line is perfectly straight;
  • a hanging method is selected, for which standard mounting loops can be used, as well as a rail equipped with special hooks for fixing cabinets;
  • for hinges, holes are made in the walls with a puncher, and fasteners are inserted into them;
  • The cabinets are hung on the received fasteners, after which they are carefully aligned, which will allow you to correctly determine the location of the second fastener.

Installation of lower cabinets

The lower drawers of the set are usually installed after the upper ones are secured. Installation of kitchen furniture in this case is divided into stages:

  • installation of the first cabinet begins from the corner of the room;
  • the legs of each cabinet are adjusted correctly to avoid distortions;
  • all cabinets are lined up;
  • adjacent elements are tightened together using a clamp, and then a furniture tie is used.

The next stage involves installing a countertop, in which a hole for washing is first made using a jigsaw. The countertop should be properly aligned so that there are no distortions that reduce its service life and negatively affect the use of the entire kitchen as a whole. For large kitchen you have to use two parts of the tabletop, and special metal strips are used to securely and correctly connect them. These connections must be treated with sealant. After the two elements are securely connected, they are attached to the lower cabinets, for which special furniture corners are used.

Final stage

It is not difficult to install furniture in the kitchen yourself. After completing the main tasks, the final stages of work are carried out. You should be especially careful, since the appearance of the entire created structure depends on the processes implemented. Installation at this stage is divided into processes:

  • in the place where the tabletop is adjacent to the wall, you must use a special plinth that closes the existing gap, since otherwise dirt and water will constantly penetrate into it, which negatively affects the service life of the entire set;
  • the doors are fastened to all cabinets of the structure, and their adjustment is easily accomplished using special new hinges;
  • pre-assembled drawers are inserted into the set, and various built-in appliances and furniture are installed;
  • the kitchen must be well and efficiently lit, so at this stage various lighting and lamps in the set are additionally connected;

Nuances of assembling a corner structure

Corner kitchens are becoming increasingly popular. This is due to the fact that the installation corner set can be carried out even in the smallest and non-standard room. Designs are available in numerous types, which makes it possible to choose the best option for any room.

The main difficulty in installing a corner set is the joining of different elements in the corner. Also, to obtain the correct and attractive result, the recommendations of specialists are taken into account:

  • assembly of the structure begins without fail from the angle chosen for installation;
  • It is not advisable to assemble all the cabinets at the same time, since the orientation should be from one assembled module, after which subsequent elements are assembled;
  • In a corner kitchen, especially much attention is paid to joining two adjacent drawers in the corner of the room;
  • Most often, a sink is located in the corner, but if it is not very convenient for the owners of the premises to use it, then it is permissible to leave the corner cabinet either empty or install on it some small household appliances that are not used too often;
  • all joints are necessarily treated with a sealant that protects the most important areas of the headset from high humidity and dirt.

Thus, the kitchen is an important room in any home. It is intended for the process of cooking food, so numerous interior items are certainly installed in it, making this procedure simple and quick. These primarily include a kitchen set, and you can install it yourself if you understand the process well and use high-quality materials and tools. In this case, you can save a significant amount of money paid to professional installers. Particular attention should be paid to the alignment of all structural elements, since various distortions or other problems contribute to short term services of the entire headset.

Adequate kitchen renovation, even cosmetic, often involves not only making changes to its appearance, but also replacing or purchasing “components,” that is, kitchen furniture, household appliances, curtains and accessories. This is quite logical - presence in the updated kitchen old furniture“not comme il faut” at all - you can see a lot of examples of this. It creates a certain impression of unfinishedness, understatement.

And if the owner did all the renovations in the kitchen himself, then why shouldn’t he continue in the same spirit? Assembling a kitchen with your own hands is not as difficult as it might seem, and if you take into account the famous saying about the quality of work done personally, then you can brush aside any last doubts and roll up your sleeves and get down to business.

Assemble the kitchen with your own hands - enjoy the process

Of course, a person does not show the desire to assemble a kitchen on his own “out of the blue.” The point here is not only about increasing self-esteem and saving some money, especially since the assembly of kitchen furniture is often included in the cost of the order. The problem often lies in the build time. Men in furniture companies They are terribly busy, and therefore you can sometimes wait for their pickers for almost weeks. Further - more, it soon becomes clear that the free version of the assembly involves only banal twisting of cabinets, often without even leveling them and without connecting them to each other. Not to mention the fact that various additional services, such as cutting holes for pipes, lamps and sockets or cutting tabletops, are paid, and everything will be regularly calculated there linear meters, pieces and other units of measurement.

It is clear that in such a situation, the master, who is not deprived of straightforwardness of hands, has a strong desire to spit on the free assembly and do everything himself - it will be of better quality, and you will get pleasure from the work.

Preparing to assemble kitchen furniture

Assembling kitchen furniture with your own hands requires some skills and a considerable amount of tools, especially if the assembly work will involve various types of communications.

IMPORTANT If the owner plans to assemble the kitchen set himself, he will have to check the presence of all the parts included in the kit without exception, when delivering the furniture to his home.

History knows many examples when, due to the carelessness of sellers, a shortage was delivered to the buyer. On the one hand, this may seem harmless (“Well, why don’t I buy a couple of screws?”), on the other hand, home assemblers may have serious problems if the package does not contain any unique parts (especially those directly related to chipboard ), without which the assembly may stop in the most unexpected place.

Also, instructions must be included in the package with the delivered product. In most cases, instructions for assembling kitchen furniture are needed like air, despite the bravura statements of home craftsmen that they can easily cope without it. As practice shows, a manufacturer can often “twist” quite complex schemes into his “work of art”, which will be very difficult for a non-professional, and sometimes even a seasoned specialist, to understand. This doesn't really apply to standard kitchens who are going with eyes closed“, although even there it wouldn’t hurt to have a piece of paper in front of you with an approximate sequence of assembly manipulations.

Therefore, in order to achieve the best result, before getting down to business, in any case, it would not hurt for the master to read the instructions and roughly sketch out a plan of action in his head.

The next step will be preparing the tool. Of course, you won’t be able to get by with a ruler and a set of screwdrivers when assembling furniture. You will also need to stock up on:

  • a set of clamps;
  • drill and drill bits;
  • screwdriver;
  • tape measure, level, pencil;
  • jigsaw.

When all the tools are assembled, you can immediately begin work.

Furniture assembly is a responsible process

The instructions for assembling a kitchen in the words of an experienced assembler say that you should start with assembly individual modules, and only then connect them together. However, this is quite logical and you don’t need to be a professional to understand this. And also the fact that as the modules are assembled, it will be possible to immediately make holes in them for various communications.

Experts say that you should start with wall cabinets, although, in truth, of great importance this does not matter - you can start assembling a kitchen set from anywhere. The only thing you should adhere to is to give preference to more complex work. For example, start by assembling a corner cabinet (if you have one) or by installing a sink.

Assembling and hanging wall cabinets

If you start, as the pros suggest, by assembling wall cabinets, then you first need to mark out the room. After all, in essence, wall cabinets are tied to the floor ones geographically - their boundaries, most often, will completely coincide with what is on the floor. This operation is easier to perform when the bottom row is already fully secured and its location is clearly marked. That is why many non-professionals tend to take a different sequence of events, installing floor cabinets first. However, even if you start from the top, it is not very difficult to mark where the floor cabinets will be installed and then install wall cabinets according to these marks - after all, all cabinets have standard sizes.

This is the worst option, so to speak - when wall cabinets have to be hung, as they say, “manually”. It's inconvenient and quite long. However, assembling a kitchen with your own hands can also have such a pitfall. In addition, twisting cabinets together, in in this case, cannot be avoided, since it is almost impossible to align all the cabinets (especially on adjacent walls) clearly in level, even for a professional. The problem is that over time, the fasteners can gradually sag, causing a difference in the height of the hanging cabinets. When connecting cabinets to each other, this probability is practically reduced to zero; in addition, it is initially much easier to align them on the same level.

Fortunately, current technologies make it possible to perform these operations with considerable comfort. For this purpose, the following materials are purchased:

  • special fastening strip for wall cabinets;
  • special Euro canopies;
  • self-tapping screws with dowels.

After assembling the cabinets, approximately 135-140 cm is measured from the floor. This will be the bottom edge of the cabinets. It is possible to attach a wall border here, which eliminates the gap and improves the appearance of the final result, but this is not necessary.

Then a hole is made in the back wall of the cabinets through which the canopy eyelet will be threaded. The canopy itself is screwed directly to the side wall. All lugs in all cabinets are at the same level and cannot move. To the wall using a hammer drill and self-tapping screws (the easiest way is to use “ quick installation") a fastening strip is nailed, which is a steel strip several centimeters wide perforated in the middle, reinforced with bends at the top and bottom. The upper bend is also functional: it is on it that the ears of the canopies will be hung. There are many advantages to this method:

  • it's fast and inexpensive;
  • Even one person can easily cope with hanging cabinets - after all, hanging them and taking them down is a pleasure;
  • The cabinets can be moved anywhere with ease using the fastening strip.

To consolidate the effect, wall cabinets can still be connected to each other, especially if no one is going to move them later.

Floor cabinets are assembled in the same way as wall cabinets.

  1. First, the cabinet is roughly rolled up using the instructions. It indicates where and what self-tapping screws and screws should be used. It is permissible to replace them with others, but this should not be done: a non-professional may encounter their disadvantage, since in the kit their number is clearly calculated and distributed throughout the entire structure. "With reserve" Supplies Manufacturers rarely place it, so it is better to strictly follow the steps specified in the assembly manual. The only thing you can afford is to experiment with the number of nails for attaching the back cover, since their number and place of driving in are not regulated in any way.
  2. Unlike, by the way, from the internal drawers, which should be included in assembled wardrobe in clearly designated places to avoid various problems. To do this, holes are made on the walls of the cabinet, even at the factory, into which guide slides are screwed, along which the drawers will subsequently “ride”.
  3. The rest of the fastening points are usually designed in the same way: the manufacturer makes the holes where necessary; it will be much easier for the assembler to work when in most moments he can act intuitively. For example, when connecting the side walls with the upper/lower plane, holes are also made for corrugated dowels and for confirmations, which are tightened with the key included with the furniture. The situation is the same with legs, if there are any: you won’t have to screw them on at random.

Connecting the kitchen into one

When the floor boxes have already been assembled, all that remains is to do rear walls holes for all communications and connect them together. When you clearly know how to assemble a kitchen yourself, this operation is, of course, simplified, but it still remains the most difficult stage in assembling a kitchen. The task will become even more complicated if the set has a corner cabinet. Then, in addition to installing the sink and carrying out communications, the need to join the parts of the countertop will be added.

  1. Oddly enough, the first step will be to install the assembled modules in place. Even if later there is work to be done with installing a sink, cutting the countertop and other “fascinating” things, the installed and assembled modules will not interfere with this, because the countertops can be removed, processed and easily put in place.
  2. Next we need to make a hole for the sink and cut the countertop, if there is a corner cabinet - this can be easily done using a jigsaw. The parts of the tabletop are connected to each other using a special corner pad. It is sometimes attached to the side walls using metal corners, but more often it is simply attached to the chipboard strips using self-tapping screws. In any case, all planes after cutting and end faces are necessarily treated with silicone sealant.
  3. The entry points for communications are determined, and holes are made for them in the rear walls using a jigsaw.
  4. The last step will be the installation of a protective and decorative plinth on the back side of the tabletop. It is screwed or glued directly to it, and must be coated with silicone.

If cabinets do not have legs, they are usually placed on a special side, which is like legs, at the same time performing a decorative function. If legs are present, in most cases the manufacturer includes a decorative strip that covers them, thereby creating an attractive appearance.
