Do-it-yourself hexagonal gazebo - features of construction. We build a hexagonal gazebo with our own hands. Gazebos for a summer residence, hexagonal drawings.

Any person who spends most of his life in a noisy city sometimes wants to take a break from this hustle and bustle. In this case, it helps many people country cottage area. Having a gazebo can help you relax and unwind in nature as much as possible. And since not everyone has it, let's consider simple methods its construction.

A properly built gazebo will be able to perform several functions at once. In rainy weather it will provide shelter from the rain, in the scorching sun it will provide refreshing shade and, most importantly, it will allow you to enjoy communication with loved ones in nature.

Let's divide the process into stages:

Site selection

The idea is to provide easy access for you and your friends or family to the gazebo. It will also be good if the structure is located under or near a tree. This way the roof will not get too hot under the sun, which will provide even greater comfort.

Foundation

Depending on the number of corners, pillar supports are poured. The photo shows the foundation for a hexagonal gazebo made of concrete and bricks.

But instead of bricks, you can also use racks. In order for the shape of the gazebo to be correct, draw a top view in advance and calculate required dimensions. After this, mark the area using pegs and twine. After this, in place of the stakes, dig holes about 50 centimeters deep. Next, place beams with a cross section of 20 by 20 centimeters there, so that they look 20 centimeters above the ground. Thus, you will need beams 70 centimeters long in quantity equal to the number of corners of the gazebo.

With exactly the same parameters, you can use a profile pipe for the base. If you do not plan to make a base, and the floor will be tiles or concrete screed, take into account the height of the pipe with the height of the gazebo.

It is good to use for mixing concrete. But if you don’t have it, you will need a trough in which you can conveniently make a batch and then fill the hole with it. The concrete solution is mixed in a proportion of 1/3/2/2 - 1 cement, 3 sand and 2 granulations, 1-2 water. It is important to maintain exactly this sequence, as this affects the quality of the solution. Add water periodically. For example, after mixing cement, add a little sand, then wait until everything becomes homogeneous and add again. The overall consistency of the mass should be similar to gray sour cream. Vary the proportions relative to the required volume.

During the process, while the concrete solution is still damp, use a thread and a level to check that all the posts create an even horizon. And don't forget about the need for central support for the rigidity and durability of the floor.

Base

If you made a support from wood, then use the example of the finished base in the photo to knock down the boards. After this, the floor is sewn up with a board 2.5-3 centimeters thick.

It is not recommended to carry out such an operation with metal, since it tends to bend. You can also make the floor from tiles or by making concrete screed. Large slabs will look very aesthetically pleasing. A more openwork option could be a marble floor.

Frame

In the version with metal, your frame is already ready and it only needs rigidity. It can be strengthened using partitions, but more on that later. For a tree everything is different. Bars 15 by 15 centimeters and at least two meters long are attached vertically in the corners. Installation is carried out using metal corners and self-tapping screws.

At the beginning, let’s mention what you can do if you wish. beautiful gazebo and without parapets.

If you want a fence, the approximate height will be 90 centimeters. And the choice of material will not be small:

  1. You can sew panels from wood or tree branches. In this case, the blanks are made according to the size of one side (from corner to corner).
  2. Polycarbonate. One of the most popular materials for making gazebos. Also cut into sections.
  3. . You can do it yourself if you have the necessary tools or order it.
  4. Hedge. Having created only a side, you can put a climbing plant, for example, grapes, along it.
  5. Metal sides. Attached using welding joints. Later you can decorate with decorative elements.

The photograph shows one example.

Please note that the fencing can be extended, which will not allow uninvited birds to interfere with your rest and will create additional shade.

Rafters and roof

Rafters are mounted on the ground in the form of modules and then installed on the roof. Both metal and wood are equally suitable for this. Only the assembly methods will differ. When installing wood - nails and bolts, and for metal - bolts and welding.

The schematic drawing clearly shows an example of the “skeleton” of a roof.

Roofing

There are enough materials for the roof big choice: profile flooring, polycarbonate, slate, tiles and other coverings. Before laying, install waterproof material so that the roof is effective in the rain. After this, the material is cut out, if necessary, and attached to the beams of the rafter frame. Calculate the overlaps and lengths to avoid waste of material and save your budget.

paints and varnishes

Regardless of whether you choose metal or wood, it will be useful to cover the gazebo with paint or clear varnish. This will make the building more beautiful and extend its service life to you.

Don't settle on one color. Choose a color to match the color of the roof, plants, furniture inside, or simply to suit your own mood. If the roof is made of polycarbonate, then the number of color combinations only increases.

For a wooden floor you only need treatment by special means protection from insects and temperatures and paint coating.

You can also cover the floor with ceramics. To do this you need to have more or less smooth screed. Next, it is laid out on the glue under the level. Remember that the stationary or floor will be outdoors 24 hours a day all year round. In this regard, choose a tile that can withstand the load. This will help protect yourself from unnecessary costs.

No less beautiful and convenient solution will choose paving slabs. The semblance of tiles like in the photo or flat tiles will look beautiful. To prepare, you will need a granulation pillow and paving slabs of your choice.

Tools

Regardless of what you need, you will need a standard set: hammer, saw, hacksaw, drill. If you are making a gazebo with a metal frame, then welding the seams is best for fastening. Bolts and nails will only be needed to secure the roof and parapet cladding. In the wooden version, it is best to connect the beams with bolts, using wide washers so that the head does not push through the wood. For concrete, you will either need a container and shovels that are convenient for manual mixing. There will also be a need for consumable tools such as brushes, nails, bolts, electrodes for welding machine.

Materials

If the frame is made of wood, then the following materials will be needed:

  • Beam 10 by 10 centimeters - racks and trusses.
  • Slats 25*30 millimeters for covering the parapet or window grilles;
  • Suitable for a roof edged boards 25 millimeters thick.
  • The floor is covered with a board no thinner than 4 centimeters.
  • Fasteners – corners and self-tapping screws;
  • Roofing sheets – OSB is a good choice.

By choosing metal as the material for the frame, the entire structure can be assembled from one type of workpiece. For a gazebo, a profile pipe with a cross-section of at least 50 millimeters or a corner with walls of 25 and 50 millimeters is best suited. The roof in this case can be made of wood or polycarbonate.

In both cases, the footage is calculated independently, since it depends on the scale of the construction.

The squaring of cladding materials, such as roofing and cladding, is determined depending on the size of the frame. Consumables also vary depending on the assembly method.

Types of gazebos

Classifying gazebos in your home according to any parameters does not make sense, because in our time the variety in construction has reached unprecedented proportions. This is caused not only by the imagination of modern masters, but also by the abundance of materials. Combinations of plastic, concrete, wood, metal and brick are just the tip of the iceberg. In particular, plastic can help you inexpensively, but very beautifully decorate both the interior and exterior of your building, regardless of its design.

After reading the guide on how to make a hexagonal gazebo with your own hands, you have everything necessary knowledge for construction of any shape or design. All you need to do is apply this knowledge in practice

If you wish, you can build closed gazebo. To do this, you will need additional means - insulation, windows and a door. Also, the floor in such a gazebo can be made of ceramic. And inside, a fireplace or barbecue with a hood built into the wall will add coziness.

Such a gazebo can easily turn into summer kitchen, if necessary household appliances. In this case, a portable gas cylinder will not be superfluous; it can be connected to both the barbecue and the burner.

All of the above applies to rectangular or square shape. Shapes can be with many angles or round. It all depends only on your imagination. Also, for a quadrangular shape you will need additional supports, one in the middle of each side.

A gable roof for such gazebos is made in the same way as a multi-pitched roof, only with different shapes. Rafter structures are made in the shape of the letter “A”.

Quadrangular gazebos accommodate less people than the rounded versions.

In addition to experimenting with the form, you can try different kinds covering the walls or roof of a building. You can make the roof semicircular and use polycarbonate or corrugated sheeting. It will look very original.

Don't forget about additional exterior elements. They may include a barbecue, street benches, tables, hanging flowers and anything else that comes to your mind. When building, keep in mind the main thing, the purpose of the gazebo is to provide you with the most comfortable stay possible.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros:

  • Possibility to make the gazebo portable. In this case, you can install it with bolts, which can then be easily unscrewed and assembled. If the concrete is not solid, then you can install the gazebo wherever you like or move it to free up the necessary space or simply change the situation.
  • Wide scope for imagination. For inspiration, you can look on the Internet to see how you can decorate a gazebo. For example, if you get tired of the parapet sheathing, you can easily repaint it or replace it with something else.
  • Independence from the budget. You can make a modest gazebo and gradually decorate it or cover it with more interesting materials.
  • If the gazebo is collapsible, then you can remodel it, thereby increasing the covered area.
  • By making the walls brick, the owner will reliably protect himself from wind and rain

Minuses:

  • The tree is rotting. That's why wooden structures need to be treated with special means to prolong life.
  • Fire hazard. This applies more to wood and plastic. When using these materials, carefully follow fire safety precautions.
  • Service. Nothing lasts forever, so repairing even the slightest chips will significantly extend the life of your building
  • Polycarbonate coating, although practical, is also not cheap. In addition, it enhances the sound of falling drops during rain.

You can find a drawing of a hexagonal gazebo with dimensions online, but it mostly looks like a sketch rather than a working drawing. Information drawings with individual structural units are usually paid for and are not freely available. The information provided below will reveal the secrets of some technical issues.

Marking the foundation for a hexagonal gazebo

First, you should brush up on your knowledge of geometry within the school curriculum.

Important. A regular hexagon is made up of six equilateral triangles with equal sides and angles of 60 degrees. It is this feature that greatly facilitates the task of marking and building the foundation of a hexagonal gazebo with a hexagonal roof.

To lay out the foundation you won’t need much:

  • Leg-split.
  • Small hammer or sledgehammer.
  • Roulette.
  • Rebar stakes.

Having decided on the location and location of the edges relative to existing objects on the site, do the following:

  1. Two stakes are driven into the ground with a sledgehammer, and twine is pulled between them.
  2. A third one is installed at an equal distance from the outer pegs, which will be the center of the hexagon. From the center on the twine, measure a distance equal to the side of the edge and make marks.
  3. Now mark the first equilateral triangle in the following way. On the twine attached to the central stake, a size equal to the size of the edge of the triangle is marked. By setting the same size between the twine marks, an equilateral triangle is obtained.
  4. The following triangles are constructed in a similar way.

Marking the foundation using a cord and stakes is a task that everyone can handle

Laying the foundation

The type of foundation will depend on the type of flooring in the gazebo. A pile foundation is suitable for wooden floors, as well as concrete floors located at ground level. For concrete floors raised above the ground, a shallowly buried strip foundation is suitable.

Explanation. The depth of the trenches should be at least 80 cm with a sand or crushed stone cushion of about 20 cm at the bottom. The embedded parts necessary for fastening the frame of the gazebo are installed in fresh concrete. in this case The photo shows metal embedded pins.

Installation of the bottom trim and installation of racks

To assemble the lower hexagon of the gazebo, you need a high-quality wooden beam coniferous species. There are several connection methods, which allows you to choose the most rational one for the existing drawing of a hexagonal gazebo with dimensions. All listed options provide sufficient connection reliability:

  • Traditional half-tree connection.

Hexagon gazebo with half-tree connection on pile foundation. Reliable fixation of the unit is ensured by a pin insert passing through the technological holes of the timber connection. A hole is drilled in the lower part of the supporting post, with which it is put on the mortgage.

  • An option for connecting the bottom trim beam into a groove.

  • Connecting the strapping beam directly to the stand.

  • Attaching load-bearing vertical posts to the finished gazebo floor.

Then they move on to laying the boards.

Now we proceed directly to installing the racks.

Note. Before the next stage of work, the installed racks must be set horizontally and well secured with spacers, since without the top trim they do not have sufficient strength when exposed to external influences.

Making a roof frame

Of course, it is technically possible to make a roof of any configuration, but the most suitable option would be a roof that follows the contour of the structure; in this case, you will have to make a hexagonal gazebo roof. Structurally, it will consist of the following elements:

  • Mauerlat (top trim).
  • Rafters.
  • Lathing.
  • Roofing material.

Advice. The lumber for the rafters must be the same size, have normal humidity and be free of large knots. Preference should be given to coniferous wood such as pine, spruce, and larch.

The Mauerlat is made from timber of the same size with supporting posts (or boards of the same size as the rafters). In this case, the latter option is considered. In order for the Mauerlat to be securely fastened and lie on a vertical stand, a groove is made in the “half-tree”.

The groove is made from the outside of the gazebo.

The attachment point of the rafters to the Mauerlat is carried out using a groove fastening, which prevents the rafters from slipping when exposed to a snow load.

The fastening point for the half-rafters is marked in blue, the fastening point for the main rafters is in red, and the groove is made in such a way that it overlaps the fastening point vertical stand and Mauerlat. Connection nodes where it is necessary to use mounting angles are marked in green.

Hexagonal roof crown structure

There are several ways to connect the rafters at the top of the roof. It is very difficult to give preference to any of them, so it is worth considering the most common methods.

  • Using a hexagonal connector.

  • Using a support stand.

  • Connecting rafters using grooves.

Advice. It is recommended to first fit and assemble the roof frame on the ground, mark the parts, disassemble them, and then install them on the gazebo. To facilitate the installation process, it is necessary to install a temporary stand, which is removed upon completion of work.

Selection and installation of roofing for hexagonal gazebos

You can use any roofing, but we must take into account the surrounding landscape, the design of the gazebo itself and existing buildings on the site. Gray asbestos-cement slate will look extremely inexpressive on the gazebo.

Flexible tiles have a variety of color palette, which significantly expands design possibilities. It can be easily cut, which is important when doing roofing work, given the specific configuration of the hexagonal roof of the gazebo.

For flexible tiles, solid wooden flooring from boards, moisture-resistant plywood or OSB sheets are used as lathing.

Laying of flexible tiles is done in rows, from bottom to top, fastening is carried out with special nails for soft roof, in addition, with inside sheets of flexible tiles there is a self-adhesive layer under protective film, which is removed immediately before installation.

Drawings of a hexagonal gazebo are in great demand for owners of their plots. Such structures have a classical form and are best place recreation.

A self-made hexagonal gazebo fits harmoniously into any yard, even a small one. This article will tell you how to choose a drawing of a hexagonal gazebo.

When planning the construction of not just a seasonal canopy for protection from the sun or precipitation, but comfortable rest for the whole family, making a drawing for a hexagonal gazebo is simply necessary. This makes it possible to carefully plan a project that will ensure the durability of the structure and help it maintain all the necessary geometric dimensions, as shown in the photo.

If you decide to build, then the drawings for hexagonal gazebos will help:

  • Pre-plan individual style buildings.
  • Facilitate the calculation of the amount of materials (see) required for construction.
  • Simplify the selection of the site where the gazebo will be located.
  • Choose best option location of openings for windows and doors, decorative elements.
  • Determine and purchase the necessary construction tools in advance.
  • Select the optimal dimensions of the structure and all its elements.

After determining all the parameters of what the hexagonal gazebo will be, we use the drawings for its construction.

How to make a foundation

Without a reliable foundation, even a well-built gazebo will not be able to operate for several years.

This is due to such natural phenomena How:

  • Seasonal soil subsidence.
  • Rains.
  • Snowfall.
  • Uneven soil subsidence.

All this can have a detrimental effect on the structure.

When building a gazebo, its foundation can be:

  • Solid. This is the most best type reasons, but its price is the most. Used in construction small buildings and serves as their floor. It is a reinforced solid or lattice slab mounted under the entire plane of the gazebo.
  • Tape. Its construction is quite expensive, but the design is reliable. It is best erected for the construction of gazebos made of brick, concrete blocks or natural stone. The base can be made monolithic or consist of several elements.
  • Columnar(cm. ). This is the simplest and most affordable type of foundation for a gazebo. It is most stable on clay soils, in swampy areas in places with high humidity.

  • Support-columnar. This type of foundation is the cheapest. During its construction, sand bedding is used. The first blocks are dug directly into the ground, the next ones are fixed on top until the required height is reached.

No matter how you build a hexagonal gazebo with your own hands, drawings for the foundation are necessary, as well as for the entire structure. His exact dimensions will allow you to mark the future structure on a pre-selected plot of land.

This is especially important when constructing strip or columnar types of foundation, where everything bearing structures or beams must be placed clearly on the foundation.

How to choose a frame for a gazebo

The structure of the gazebo frame can be made from:

  • Trees. The advantages of such buildings are:
  1. aesthetic appeal;
  2. environmental Safety;
  3. long service life;
  4. easy to update;
  5. economic benefit.
  • Metal.

The advantages of metal gazebos are:

  1. long service life;
  2. high reliability of the design;
  3. ease of assembly and disassembly;
  4. the construction process is facilitated by commercially available ready-made frames;
  5. fire resistance;
  6. Possibility of placement on any surface;
  7. can be easily repainted in any color, which depends on the composition of the entire area;
  8. a wide range of prices allows owners of plots with different financial capabilities to install such a design.
  • Brick. Such gazebos:
  1. have high reliability;
  2. fire safety;
  3. do-it-yourself brick hexagonal gazebos, drawings developed for their construction help reproduce the most different shapes and the size of the building, it all depends on the fantasies of the owner.

Whatever hexagonal gazebo is being built, the drawing makes it possible to determine in advance its positive and negative aspects. Whether it will be closed or open, glazed or lattice - all this can be seen in the drawing.

How to choose a roof for a gazebo

The most difficult stage of constructing a hexagonal structure is creating the roof. No matter what kind of hexagonal gazebo is built, a roof drawing is necessary. It indicates clearly geometric dimensions and the material for its manufacture.

For the roof of the gazebo, you can use various roofing materials (see).

For example:

  • Metal tiles. It looks beautiful and elegant, but when making a hexagonal roof, there is quite a lot of waste large percentage, up to 50%.
  • Asbestos cement slate. Its main advantages are:
  1. high resistance to moisture, which allows materials not to rot or become moldy;
  2. repels radioactive rays;
  3. does not allow cold to pass through;
  4. frost-resistant;
  5. long service life;
  6. resistant to corrosion;
  7. easy to install;
  8. fireproof.
  • Bituminous shingles. The material has:
  1. low cost;
  2. durability;
  3. low weight;
  4. increased impact strength;
  5. a large number of color options;
  6. easy and simple installation.
  • Polycarbonate. Most popular material for gazebos. It has an attractive appearance and can be used from the most different shades. Perfectly protects from wind and drafts.
  • Straw or reeds. When using them, the roof acquires:
  1. strength and durability;
  2. special impregnation protects against fire, mold and rot;
  3. resistance to the appearance of rodents and bird nests;
  4. beauty;
  5. environmental cleanliness.
  • Metal profile. This lightweight material, which is easy to work with, protects the structure well from leaks in the heaviest rains.

The choice of material is influenced by:

  • Its mass. It should be light. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the possible load from wind and snow.
  • Despite the fact that a flat roof is more reliable, the angle of inclination of the roof is selected depending on the above factors.

Tip: If you have an artificial or other body of water, materials that are moisture-resistant should be chosen. All wooden roof elements must be treated with special antiseptics.

The instructions for erecting a wooden roof on a hexagonal gazebo indicate that it consists of six identical triangles or six scalene triangles, the edges of which converge in the center at one point, which resembles in appearance a classic oriental structure of antiquity.

The video in this article will show you how to build a 6-sided gazebo. The drawing is the basis for its construction.

Having a project, it is possible to get the optimal supply electrical wiring, do the glazing correctly, decorate the structure with forged or carved elements, and arrange the furniture correctly in advance.

Installation of the structure

The main stages of construction include:

  • Create your own project or use a ready-made drawing.
  • Determining the location for installing the gazebo, preparing for construction and marking the area.
  • Creating a foundation.
  • Installation of support pillars and installation of the gazebo frame.
  • Roof installation and installation roofing material.

For your information. If you are building a gazebo with your own hands, then you need to prepare everything in advance necessary tool, since the quality of the final result and the speed of work largely depend on the quality of the tool.

Tools you will need:

  • A circular saw, or, as a last resort, a hacksaw for wood.
  • Electric drill.
  • A screwdriver with an attachment for the screws used.
  • Electric jigsaw.
  • Wood screws.
  • Construction level and tape measure.
  • Shovel and bayonet shovel.

With help electric tool The speed of work increases significantly and quality improves, but you must follow safety precautions and protect your eyes and hands when working.

Before building a hexagonal gazebo, purchase the required amount of wood, make sure that the material is not wet. It is advisable that the boards and beams are already sanded. The price of sanded boards will be more expensive, but this saves processing time.

You will also need to purchase special impregnations for wood that will protect it from moisture, prevent the formation of mold and increase the service life of the material. Before use, the wood must be treated with impregnations and allowed to dry thoroughly.

Surface preparation and foundation creation

The location for the future building is important because it should provide comfortable rest. It is advisable to build a gazebo in the shade of large trees or surrounded by bushes. The location should provide a separate path to the gazebo and the possibility of installing a barbecue.

The future construction site must be cleared of vegetation, bushes, trees, and large stones. If the base has uneven surfaces, it is advisable to remove the top part of the soil by 8-10 cm and level it flat.

Next, the type of foundation is selected depending on the quality of the soil and the weight of the future structure. Usually, for small gazebos, a columnar foundation is made of wood, but if there is a hexagonal gazebo made of brick, then a massive strip or monolithic foundation is required.

  • The first step is to mark the circle using an improvised compass. One rod is installed in the center, a rope of the required length is tied to it with a second rod at the end and a circle is drawn.
  • Then the circle is marked into six parts and the location of the foundation pillars is marked. Six posts around the circumference and one post in the center on which the flooring will rest.
  • At the sites of future pillars, holes are dug 50 cm deep and 40 cm wide.
  • A 10 cm layer of crushed stone is placed at the bottom and carefully compacted, after which the pillar is erected using bricks and cement mortar.

Important. The support pillars should rise 15-20 cm above the surface of the site to ensure ventilation under the gazebo. Also, when creating a pillar, a metal rod is walled inside to fix the lower frame of the gazebo, which should protrude 50 cm above the pillar and no less than 100 cm deep into the pillar. The rod must be painted or treated before installation bitumen mastic.

When creating hexagonal gazebos on a columnar foundation, you can use asbestos-cement pipes instead of pillars or install formwork in the hole 20 cm above the ground, which is filled with concrete mortar. After creating the pillars, the remaining space is filled with crushed stone and compacted, then a layer of crushed stone is laid over the entire area of the removed soil under the gazebo.

A wooden hexagonal gazebo should not come into contact with the stone, so several layers of roofing material are laid on the pillars. You can coat the top of the support column with bitumen mastic. At this point, the creation of the foundation is completed and you can begin building the frame of the gazebo.

Creating a gazebo frame

The construction of the frame begins with laying a hexagonal base made of square beams, which is also called the bottom frame. The beams form a hexagon and are connected to the supporting pillars using a lock in the floor of the tree, as shown in the figure.

First of all, a lock is cut out at the ends of the beams and treated with protective impregnations. After careful adjustment, the locks are cut out through holes and put them on the rod, as shown in the photo.

Next, stiffeners are installed for flooring. Each rib is made of a flat board, one end of which is fixed to the central support post, the other - to the outer support post. All connections are made using metal corners.

The hexagonal gazebo design has six support pillars at each corner that support the roof. The pillars must have the same length and before installing them, a hole is drilled in the end for a metal rod.

After which the pillars are placed on top of the rod and additionally secured with metal corners, strictly controlling the vertical position using a level. After installing the pillars, the floor covering in the form of boards is installed.

For your information. Typically, hexagonal gazebos have a ventilated plank floor, but if desired, it can be lined with decorative ceramic tiles. To lay tiles or linoleum, you need to sew up the floor OSB boards or fiberboard, having previously treated them with protective solutions. Bottom part The slabs are treated with bitumen mastic, and tiles or linoleum are laid on the top part.

Gazebo roof installation

For a beautiful appearance, the 6 coal gazebo should have the same hexagonal roof. The option for creating a roof is chosen based on the size of the gazebo and the weight of the roofing material.

We will consider the option of a large gazebo, where the roof will be quite massive. In this case, it is necessary to install additional top trim on the support pillars. It is installed from the same square-section beams as the lower trim, repeating it exactly.

The beams are connected with a lock into the wood floor and secured with metal corners. For greater reliability, you can drill a hole in the upper end of the support beam and insert a painted metal rod on which to put top harness.

Next, the 6th coal gazebo is equipped with upper stiffeners, as shown in the photo above. At the intersection of the ribs, a vertical beam is installed, which is called the “headstock” and serves as additional support for the frame. Then the rafters are installed at an angle.

It is recommended to extend the lower part of the rafters 20-25 cm outside the structure to drain flowing water from the foundation. The lower part of the rafters is fixed to the upper frame, and the upper part is fixed to the upper part of the headstock, as shown in the photo. With lighter structures, the roof frame is assembled on the ground, after which it is installed on the top frame in assembled form.

For your information. The roof is sheathed fiberboard sheets, plywood, OSB or make sheathing from boards, depending on the type of roofing material and the method of its installation. If the project provides for a hexagonal gazebo with a barbecue or barbecue, then install the barbecue against the wall opposite the entrance. A hood is installed under the roof above the barbecue.

Installation of gazebo walls

The final stage is the installation of the walls of the gazebo. Here you need to give free rein to your imagination and use electric jigsaw. Installation of walls begins with the installation of railings, which are usually placed at a height of 80-100 cm from the floor.

Instead of walls, you can use boards in which you can cut out decorative shapes using a jigsaw, as shown in the photo above. You can purchase ready-made figured racks. The completion of the work will be covering the entire structure protective varnish in several layers, which will give the wood depth of color.

Finishing work

In order for the operation of the finished gazebo to be comfortable and the resource of use of the structure to be long, a number of finishing works will be required.

First of all, using a grinding machine, we process all surfaces, eliminating large, medium, and then small irregularities. The smoother the surface wooden elements, the easier it will be to apply paint on them.

After the walls and beams in the gazebo are sanded, we cover them with a layer of drying oil. As the drying oil dries, we cover the gazebo with several layers of varnish, making sure each of them dries.

A gazebo is an indispensable attribute personal plot. The Internet is replete with offers to buy ready-made drawings of gazebos for self-construction, or to entrust the construction of a small architectural form to professionals. But often, existing proposals for some reason do not meet the needs of land owners: the size is not suitable, the shape and design are not suitable, or they are simply expensive. And the construction of a gazebo in itself is not a complicated process and can be done with your own hands.

This article is devoted to how to draw up a plan, drawing and diagrams of gazebo components, how to determine the size depending on the purpose of the building, how to properly place a barbecue, a place to relax, a kitchen, etc. And of course, we have selected ready-made diagrams and drawings of gazebos for you.

Layout

The first thing you need to decide is where the building will be located. To do this, you will need a site plan on a scale convenient for you, which shows: the main building (house), outbuildings (bathhouse, sheds), diagrams garden paths, trees.

Advice: It is better not to cut down perennials; they will still serve for shade and to create landscape design.

Carefully study the plan of your personal plot, taking into account the totality of the circumstances, and mark on the diagram where, in your opinion, a gazebo would be most appropriate. It is better to place it in the depths of the garden, at the end of the path, between the trees. The distance from the main house is 3-5 m. If the building is planned with a barbecue, fireplace or stove, then it is advisable to distance it from the main residential building by more than 8 m.

Plan of a gazebo for a summer residence, independent drawing with dimensions

When drawing up a drawing, do not forget about the foundation. For country gazebos, it is optimal to arrange a columnar base. The distance between the pillars is 1500-2000 mm, for each vertical support. Pole section 300*300, 400*400 mm. When marking the foundation diagram on the ground, you should add 100 mm on each side so that the base is larger than the dimensions of the building.

Functionality and dimensions - what you need to know

Gazebos, first of all, are built for comfortable outdoor recreation, which means that they must be comfortable, durable, reliable, everything must be at hand, nothing should interfere or irritate. And for this you should know some ergonomic rules.

As a rule, rectangular buildings have a two- (as in the diagram above) or hipped roof

Wooden gazebos, drawings of a square building with a hipped roof

The standard table width is 600-800 mm, length 800 mm - for seating 4, 1200 mm - for 6 people. A comfortable seat size for a chair or bench is 400-450 mm. Thus, the minimum width of the gazebo is 1500 (600+450+450) mm, length 1500-2000 mm.

Note: If necessary, the dimensions of the gazebo can be reduced, in which case it is better to opt for a small frame building-shed, see the example in the diagram below.

Gazebo diagram for a small area

The product is on a metal frame, the dimensions are schematic, the length and width of the gazebo can be changed to suit your needs

To comfortably accommodate one person, a floor area of 2 m2 is required, therefore, optimal size gazebos for a company of 4-8 people – 3*4 m, 4*4 m (12-16 m2).

If you are planning not only a place for gatherings, but also a relaxation area, with armchairs and sun loungers, then the area of the gazebo is calculated at the rate of 4 m2 per person.

In order to correctly draw a drawing of a gazebo with a barbecue or fireplace, when calculating the area it is necessary to take into account the dimensions of the stove. Optimal depth brick barbecue 750-1000 mm (3-4 brick lengths), width – 1200 mm (10 brick widths).

Drawing of a standard barbecue

In addition to the barbecue or barbecue, on the side of it, for convenience, you should provide a work table 600-800 mm wide, preferably a sink with a width of 600-800 mm, and on the other side a place for storing firewood, the same distance for symmetry. Based on this, the minimum length of the kitchen, including the oven, is 2400-3400 mm.

In front of the grill, it is necessary to provide a free space of 1000-1200 mm in order to move freely while cooking, and the heat does not disturb those sitting at the table. Thus, when drawing up a gazebo drawing, in addition to a place for gatherings of 8-12 m2, additional area should be allocated for the barbecue: minimum - 2400 * 1750 mm, with comfort - 3400 * 2200 mm.

To save space, the stove can be installed in the corner of the gazebo, or you can make a separate canopy on the site near the building.

Shape and design features

In addition to the fact that gazebos are open and closed, they also vary in shape: rectangular, multifaceted, round, combined, etc.

The easiest way is to make a drawing of a rectangular gazebo, but there are pitfalls here too: when transferring the diagram to the site, make sure that the angles are strictly 90°, the diagonals are the same, or use the rule of the Egyptian triangle.

Marking the area for the gazebo

Measure 3.0 m along one side, 4.0 m along the other, connect the points in a straight line, check the geometry, if the connecting line is 5.0 m, then the angle is 90 o

Simple rules for constructing circuits

Drawings of multi-organ structures cause some difficulties when designing independently. But let us remind you of just a few rules from the school course. So, for example, a hexagon with equal sides always consists of 6 equilateral (all sides are equal and angles = 60°) triangles. Or from two equal trapezoids.

A diagram of how to simply draw the base of a hexagonal gazebo

If you need to change the shape of the gazebo, for example, enlarge some sides, then first draw a rectangle (in the diagram below with a green line), then draw its diagonals, and find the middle. From the point of intersection of the diagonals, perpendicular to the long sides of the rectangle, I lay out identical segments (yellow line in the diagram), then the points are connected. Or you can still draw 2 equal trapezoids with a common base; the height of the trapezoid should be equal to half the side of the gazebo.

To draw an octagonal gazebo, its base also needs to be decomposed into simple shapes, as shown in the diagram below.

2 perpendicularly intersecting lines are drawn, equal to the length and width of the structure, a rectangle is constructed, one side of which is equal to the side of the building, the other - the width

Garden structures in the form of a polygon are a little more complicated in the construction of relatively simple rectangular buildings, but they look more original and impressive. To make the gazebo not only functional, but also a decoration for your garden plot, decorate it with a beautiful wooden lattice or elegant forging, plants, and select a lighting scenario.

Every owner suburban area pays a lot of attention landscape design. Looks harmonious on local area hexagonal gazebo. Such a practical building decorates the garden and creates cozy atmosphere. You can always find shelter from bad weather, have a picnic, a tea ceremony, or just relax in pleasant company.

Choosing a site for construction

The best option for locating the gazebo is in the shade of trees, where you don’t have to worry about the sun all day long. It is also appropriate to erect a building near a pool or.

Aesthetic appearance- not the only advantage of a hexagonal gazebo. This structure is practical and easy to use. In addition, the structure is erected easily and quickly. Thanks to the presence of identical elements repeated six times, the gazebo is easy to install.

Advantages of the building:

  1. Compact, takes up small area local area.
  2. Capacity.
  3. Possibility of placing several benches.
  4. Strength and stability.
  5. Attractive appearance due to side decorative design.

Initial stage: marking

Before starting work, it is important to draw up a project, sketch sketches and decide on dimensions. After the drawings are ready, you need to correctly calculate the installation location of the hexagonal gazebo. In the future, it will be difficult to move the building, so you should immediately take into account all the nuances: the location of the shadow, sunny side, distance to other buildings, etc.

Thematic material:

The next stage is transferring the markings to the ground. For this purpose, you will need to build a compass from slats, twine, a pair of bars, and pegs. With this homemade device draw a circle of the required radius (the size depends on the capacity).

To carry out the work you will need the following list of tools:

  • electric plane;
  • electric saw, hacksaw;
  • electric drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • circular;
  • jigsaw;
  • building level, hammer.

To build a gazebo according to the planned project, avoid mistakes and eliminate rework, keep the drawing at hand and constantly check it. The most suitable materials are pine and spruce wood; you can also use plastic and metal.

Gazebo base

Support pillars made of wooden beam section 150x150 mm. At the site of their installation and in the center of the circle, they dig holes with a depth of 60 to 80 cm, clear the resulting area of weeds and grass, and remove the top layer of soil. Pre-prepared racks are installed in holes and filled with concrete mortar. The length of the support pillars is equal to the height of the building itself.

Logs are made from bars with a cross-section of 50x100 mm and boards of 25x50 mm and nailed to the racks. Placed on top of them waterproofing material and install the floor.

The final stage

When the foundation of the building is ready, they begin to install side railings, railings and install the roof.

It is better to make the walls of the structure from wood; the structure of the material with knots looks original and attractive on the gazebo. Treated timber is used to make railings.

It is better to carry out roof construction and assembly work on the ground. This will allow you to fit all the elements as accurately and accurately as possible. The finished roof is fixed directly to support pillars using bolts.

To increase the strength of the roof, battens are fixed between the beams additional elements- one in each of the six parts. The top of the sheathing is sheathed with thin slats or sheet composite. Next, a metal-plastic covering is laid, ceramic tiles or other material.

At this point the work is completed, you can enjoy the result of your labors.
