Thank God. Prayer of thanksgiving for all God's blessings, St.

Christians often turn to the Lord for help and this is normal. After all, this is ours loving Father, which gives life itself and everything that fills the material universe. Today people en masse are turning to Orthodoxy, visiting churches, learning to pray. And that's great.

Only sometimes, in the midst of complaints and difficulties, we forget to thank God for everything we have. Every day a prayer of thanksgiving should be heard in homes. This fosters faith, patience and a humble spirit pleasing to the Lord.

Text of the Thanksgiving Prayer to the Lord for every day

“We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those who were in deed and in word: who loved us Just as you deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, make us worthy of Your love. Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, Lord, all those who call Your name in truth, remember everyone who wants good or what is contrary to us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.”

The Importance of Gratitude

Every week, thanksgiving services are held in churches. Only there are not as many parishioners as there could be. Perhaps this is because they do not fully understand the importance of this movement of the soul. It is not by chance that the Holy Church included prayers of thanksgiving in the daily morning rule. St. Ignatius (Brianchaninov) explains how Christians benefit from reading them every day:

  • strengthen their faith in God;
  • receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit;
  • gain a better understanding of Bible teaching.

Blessing the name of God is truly a worthy activity. King David wrote about this in his psalms: “Praise the name of the Lord,” he urged everyone. There is no need for a special occasion for this, because the greatness of creation is constantly before our eyes. And it’s not the Lord’s fault that we don’t notice him.

What to be grateful for:

  • The Lord Jesus Christ gave His life for our transgressions, endured terrible torment, being holy.
  • Because the Lord tolerates our sins.
  • Everything in life is given by God: human talents, good aspirations, family, food and clothing, the ability to breathe and hear children's laughter.

A good spiritual exercise is to find a few things in your life for which you can thank the Creator. Think about this and say the following prayer to the Lord:

“The council of saints, Angels and Archangels, with all the heavenly powers, sings to Thee, and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. Save me, Who art thou King on high, save me and sanctify me, Source of sanctification; For from You all creation is strengthened, To You countless warriors sing the Trisagion hymn. Unworthy of You, who sits in the unapproachable light, of whom all things are terrified, I pray: enlighten my mind, cleanse my heart, and open my lips, so that I may worthily sing to You: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord, always, now, and ever and to endless ages of ages. Amen."

Perhaps a real feeling of joy will not immediately appear in your soul, but it will certainly appear and grow. Over time. That's why it's so important to thank a higher power every day.

Help has been provided - but what about “thank you”?

When young children receive something from adults, they are taught to express gratitude. What kind of Christians are they who accept great gifts from their Creator as a matter of course? In his eyes they look ungrateful, disrespectful, simply ill-mannered. Yes, the adult will feed the child in any case. Just like the Good Creator will always help those who ask. But this is not a reason to take blessings for granted.

Any troubles end sooner or later. And this is always a manifestation of the heavenly Father’s care for his reckless children. It is imperative to say a prayer of gratitude to the Lord God for your help. Perhaps there really is no time to visit the temple, but everyone can find a few minutes to mentally say: “Glory to Thee, Lord!”

Godly Christians have a habit of extolling heavenly powers even when things are not going well. They believe that trials are sent for their own benefit. Having endured them with honor, people hope to become more spiritual and closer to perfection.

Short prayer “Glory to God for everything!” will tell the Creator that you trust Him, believe in His unconditional love and goodness.

How to thank the saints

Orthodox believers practice frequent appeals to famous Christian martyrs, miracle workers, and Angels. For them, they are faithful intercessors, helpers, petitioners before the throne of God the Father. With their support, a person no longer feels like a miserable drop in the stormy ocean of life.

Worries about relatives, worry about what will happen tomorrow are very common even for Christians. Fate is unknown to them, only one thing is certain - death. This brings melancholy and even despair to many. But it is quite possible to get rid of the feeling of hopelessness thanks to the good righteous. Through their prayers, the Holy Spirit descends from heaven. He suggests the right way out of the situation, calms and consoles the weak.

Universal Prayer of Thanksgiving for All Saints

There is a special prayer of grace for saints. It is universal: suitable as an address to both the Guardian Angel and your favorite heavenly inhabitant.

Holy God and rest in the saints, praised by the thrice-holy voice in heaven from angels, praised on earth by man in His saints; Who by Your Holy Spirit gave grace to everyone according to the bestowal of Christ, and thereby appointed Your holy Church to be the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, whose word of preaching, to You Himself who acted all in all, accomplished many saints in every generation and kind, having pleased You with various virtues, and to You, leaving us with an image of their good deeds, in the joy that has passed, prepare, in which the temptations themselves were, and help us those who are attacked. Remembering all these saints and praising their godly lives, I praise You Himself, who acted in them, and believing in Your goodness, I diligently pray to You, Holy of Holies, to grant me a sinner to follow their teaching, life, love, faith, patience, and through their prayerful help, and moreover through Your all-effective grace, the heavenly ones with them will be honored with glory, praising Your Most Holy Name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

As a special thank you to the saint, you can read an akathist, a church troparion, specially compiled for him. But you can use the words that come to your heart.

Prayer of thanksgiving to the Mother of God

Believers know how powerful sincere prayers to the Mother of God are. She saves from illness, sends relief to the soul in sorrow, and through her prayers family conflicts are resolved. You can also read words of gratitude to the Mother of God every day, just like you can to God.

IN Orthodox faith she occupies a special position. The Mother of God is considered so holy that she surpasses all other people and even angels in the purity of her soul. That is why a special prayer appeal has been compiled for her:

We praise you, Mother of God; We confess You, Mary, the Virgin Mother of God; The whole earth magnifies You, the Eternal Father's Daughter. All Angels and Archangels and all Principalities humbly serve You; All Powers, Thrones, Dominions and all the highest Powers of heaven obey you. The Cherubim and Seraphim stand before You rejoicing and cry out with an unceasing voice: Holy Mother of God, the heavens and earth are full of the majesty of the glory of the fruit of Your womb. The Mother praises the glorious apostolic face of her Creator to you; The Mother of God magnifies many martyrs for you; The glorious host of confessors of God the Word gives you a temple; To you the ruling Poles preach the image of virginity; All the heavenly hosts praise you, the Queen of Heaven. Throughout the entire universe the Holy Church glorifies you, honoring the Mother of God; He extols thee true King of heaven, the Maiden. You are the Angel Lady, You are the door of heaven, You are the ladder of the Kingdom of Heaven, You are the palace of the King of glory, You are the ark of piety and grace, You are the abyss of bounties, You are the refuge of sinners. You are the Mother of the Savior, you received freedom for the sake of a captive man, you received God in your womb. The enemy has been trampled upon by you; You have opened the doors of the Kingdom of Heaven to the faithful. You stand at the right hand of God; You pray to God for us, Virgin Mary, who will judge the living and the dead. We therefore ask You, Intercessor before Your Son and God, Who redeemed us with Your blood, so that we may receive the reward in eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Mother of God, and bless Thy inheritance, for let us be partakers of Thy inheritance; preserve and keep us even unto the ages. Every day, O Most Holy One, we wish to praise and please You with our hearts and lips. Grant, Most Merciful Mother, now and always to preserve us from sin; have mercy on us, Intercessor, have mercy on us. May Your mercy be upon us, as we trust in You forever. Amen.

There is an icon of the Mother of God in every home; you can turn to the Lady before any image. You can also express your gratitude by purchasing church candle. A very good deed is donation to the poor, some good deed for orphans. After all, this is what Christians should do - help those who need support. If all goes well, never forget about the weak, needy, hurt and lost souls.

The Impact of Gratitude

The Lord and the saints do not require our gratitude as something necessary for life. She just brings joy to their hearts. Because it testifies to spiritual growth. This means that a person becomes a little closer to righteousness. And for every good deed there is always great joy in heaven. It's like watching a spoiled child finally do the right thing. Parents will certainly be in high spirits. And the person praying will immediately feel better in his soul.

  • Of course, gratitude to God and all the saints must be sincere. It is not enough to simply submit a note, pay the money and leave with a feeling of accomplishment.
  • After all, the Lord does not need payment or an offering in the form of candles. He wants to see our location.
  • Doesn't the father rejoice when the child says: “I love you!” This is what Christians should learn - to relate to God as their heavenly parent.

Daily gratitude can give a lot to our soul, even improve our life circumstances. This is exactly what will happen as we begin to put our soul in order. Demons simply cannot attack someone whose thoughts are aimed only at good. This is what constant prayer teaches. Only not mechanical muttering, but true spiritual work becomes the very staircase that leads to heaven.

Why is a prayer of thanksgiving necessary?

In what situations does a person turn to God? Most likely, you will agree that most often, or rather almost always, we remember God when we do not find a solution to the situation in ordinary worldly life. That is, when we feel bad: we are seriously ill, something is not working out at work or we cannot find it at all, when we are faced with any difficult situations, etc.

And when we don’t find any way out, we turn to higher powers. This appeal is always expressed in some kind of request.

Often, all our communication with God comes down to one request. We constantly forget about gratitude. Even when we receive something, we still forget to thank God for his help and read a Prayer of Thanks to the Lord

Gratitude is a Godly quality

One should never forget about a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord. We must thank God always, in everything and everywhere. The feeling of gratitude is a very important quality that you should not forget about and constantly develop it in yourself. A person should not worry about being thanked. He must want to thank himself.

Gratitude is a Godly quality. It is evidence of the deep image and likeness of God in man. Gratitude is one of the most important Christian traits in a person, which every true Christian believer should strive for.

We need to give thanks not only when we receive something, but also for what we already have

When to give thanks

Of course, when we receive something in life through our petitions, be it, or we find new job With better conditions, we must certainly thank God, expressing this in a prayer of gratitude to the Lord.

But it is very important to understand that the prayer of gratitude to God for everything should not only sound for getting what you want. Read a prayer grateful to God for everything you need even when nothing special happens.

We take everything we have in life for granted. And we never think about the fact that we need to thank not only when we receive something, but also for what we already have.

Gratitude is the first feeling we should feel towards God

And we have quite a lot: we can walk, talk, see, hear, wake up in the morning and fall asleep in the evening. But you must admit, we rarely think about thanking God for these seemingly simple, understandable things. But if you turn around and look around, you will see that these simple, ordinary, as it seems to us, human skills are not given to everyone.

There are a huge number of people in the world who cannot do even half of what we are given: they do not speak, do not walk, cannot hear and see. Simply put, people with disabilities, disabled people.

Therefore, it is very important to understand that if you can get out of bed, wake up at home early in the morning, brew yourself and drink a cup of coffee, get dressed, again, without anyone’s help and go outside, inhaling a couple of sips of fresh spring air, you already have great wealth for which you need to thank God.

Moreover, you need to be grateful for the fact that you were born and had the opportunity to come into this world. The miracle of birth, like everything else, happens by the will of God. It is very important to realize this and offer prayers of gratitude on ordinary, as it seems to us, unremarkable days.

Faith in God is the basis of soul salvation for every Orthodox believer. Sincere prayer can work real miracles, but the most important thing is that it helps a person take a righteous and true path, which will lead him to the Kingdom of God, she is able to inspire a person to goodness and open his heart. The Church believes that gratitude is one of the most important Christian feelings. Prayers of thanksgiving directed to the Lord God are very important for every believer. It should be understood that it is necessary to thank the Almighty for help in business.

Gratitude expressed to the Lord God in prayer is a ray of light that will help expel resentment and anger, hatred and disgust from the soul. Thanks to the Almighty, a person claims that he has learned the lessons sent down and made the right conclusions. In any prayer of thanksgiving

What is a prayer of gratitude

The Prayer of Gratitude is a special prayer that must arise in a person’s heart. It should be remembered that if it is pronounced correctly, it can radically change the life of a believer. After all, it is in this way that you can make it clear to the Lord that you humbly accept everything that he gives in real life. You are grateful to him not only for the joys, but also for the trials that he sends you. The Church offers a special way of offering thanksgiving - this is a thanksgiving prayer to the Savior. Every believer can order it in any church, but it should be remembered that it is mandatory to attend such a service.

Each person can offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God or his Holy Helpers in his own way. There are no strict rules about this. But due to the different characters of people, some believers do it easily, while others experience certain difficulties during prayer.

Difficulties with a prayer of thanks arise for a believer when life path serious difficulties and obstacles arise. But we must remember that it is impossible to grumble at God in any situation, because trials from above are not sent to us in vain. All obstacles on the path of life arise when the Almighty wants to show a person that he is leading a lifestyle that is displeasing to God’s plan. And this, first of all, can be disastrous for the person himself. Therefore, if it seems to you that everything in your life is not working out as you would like, just pray and offer your thanksgiving to God in a prayerful appeal.

Lord God

A believer should get into the habit of thanking God for everything that happens to him in the real world, namely:

  • In general, for the opportunity to live and feel;
  • For moving forward and the ability to make decisions in any situation;
  • For victories and rewards for labor;
  • For life lessons and tests that allow you to gain invaluable experience;
  • For everything valuable in life: family, children, parents, friends, shelter over your head, work and even your beloved pets.

You can thank the Lord at any time with these simple prayer words:

“Lord, I am the Servant of God (s) ( given name) thank you for wonderful life mine, filled with light, for the wonderful and happy feelings that are present in my soul, for the fact that I can be merciful to others, for giving me the fire of insight and mercy.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), praise You and thank You, Almighty, for the fact that your instructions help me realize all my internal accumulations. I am grateful to You for the fruitful path in life that You have sent down and for the opportunity to fulfill my destiny.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), glorify You and thank You, Almighty, for the prosperity and peace in my home. I am grateful to you for the atmosphere of kindness and understanding between household members, for the loyalty of wonderful friends who always come to my home with an open soul.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), glorify You and thank You, Almighty, for the good that You have sent down for all people. I rejoice and accept everything around me with bright thoughts and an open soul.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), praise You and thank You, Almighty, for the fact that everything around me is filled every minute with streams of Your wisdom and love. Your strength helps you choose the right path and hope for the Eternal Salvation of the Soul. Amen".

Holy Mother of God

The Virgin Mary, who gave birth to the Merciful and Just Savior Jesus Christ, enjoys special respect and veneration among Orthodox believers. Holy Mother of God She is considered the Comforter and Helper of the entire human race and always hears those who ask and suffer. Therefore, prayers of thanks are often offered to her. People thank her for her mercy and understanding. It is recommended to read such prayers before making a request to the Most Holy Theotokos. As a rule, women most often turn to the Virgin Mary with such a prayer.

You can use the following version of the prayer of thanksgiving:

“Theotokos, Mother of God, Ever-Virgin Mary. I, the Servant of God (proper name), send my words of gratitude and prayer to you. I praise and thank the Most Holy Theotokos for all her deeds aimed at protecting and supporting the human race. You are the Queen of Heaven, all the Angels and Archangels worship and serve you. I praise Your greatness and Your womb. You, Most Holy Theotokos, gave the Savior to the whole world. You have given us hope to live Eternal Life. You are our Comforter and Helper, you take all women and mothers under your protection. You give us the strength to resist any evil and go through life with our heads held high. I, the Servant of God (proper name), thank you for my life, for your help and endless support. I glorify Your name and continue to trust in Your mercy. For everything I have in life, I say thank you, for every day I give you a song of gratitude. I bow to you deeply. I ask for mercy and forgiveness of my sins. Amen".

The words of the prayer of thanks addressed to the Most Holy Theotokos are best read in the morning, completely alone, in front of the icon. It is recommended to repeat the prayer text three times.

Guardian Angel

Prayers of gratitude directed to the Guardian Angel are often used. These incorporeal and immortal creatures are appointed by God at the birth of a person. The Guardian Angel always walks through life next to a person, protecting him and warning him against wrong actions and decisions. ANCIENT PRAYER OF REPENTANCE.

Lord, Lord, behold, I stand before You like a prodigal son, confessing my sins to Your goodness. I have sinned, my Savior, I have sinned. Since my youth I have committed sin and desecrated my soul and body with cruel deeds. You have sinned, like our forefathers Adam and Eve, by disobeying Your commandments; sinners, like Cain, and like all human sinners of the Old and New Testaments. They have blackened their minds with inappropriate thoughts, filled their hearts with impurity and every sinful feeling, weakening their will with laziness and an inclination to sin. I am completely blighted by sinful wounds, like one who fell among the robbers, all the wounds of my soul exude pus. Who will heal me? Or who will restore me from the depths of a sinful life, if not You, O Blessed Physician?

For this reason I have come running to You, My King and My God, praying tearfully. Heal and heal me. Cleanse my mind from obscene thoughts, free my heart from sinful impurity, so that I can with a pure heart and with my mind glorify Thee, my Creator and God. Strengthen my will for good deeds, to do exactly what is pleasing to You and worthy of Your Shrine. Forgive me every sin, voluntary and involuntary, and everything, even in knowledge and ignorance, committed by me. You are Goodness Itself and Love Itself and You have the power to forgive sins, and to You we send up glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

“After this, if a shell explodes nearby or a bullet flies by, or a fire occurs, no trouble will touch you.” Those who prayed testify this way: “Whoever did this was SAVED himself and his entire house.”

Psalm of David 26.

The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life: whom shall I fear?

If evildoers, my opponents and my enemies come upon me to devour my flesh, then they themselves will stumble and fall.

If a regiment takes up arms against me, my heart will not fear; if war arises against me, then I will hope.

I asked one thing from the Lord, that only I seek, that I might abide in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to contemplate the beauty of the Lord and visit His temple,

for He would have hidden me in His tabernacle in the day of trouble, He would have hidden me in the secret place of His habitation, He would have lifted me up on the rock.

Then my head would be lifted above the enemies surrounding me; and I would offer sacrifices of praise in His tabernacle, and would begin to sing and make melody before the Lord.

My heart speaks from You: “Seek My face”; and I will seek Your face, O Lord.

Hide not Your face from me; do not reject Your servant in anger. You were my helper; do not reject me and do not forsake me, O God, my Savior! For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me.

Teach me, O Lord, Thy way and guide me on the path of righteousness, for the sake of my enemies;

Do not give me up to the mercy of my enemies, for false witnesses have risen up against me and breathe malice.

But I believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Trust in the Lord, be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened, and trust in the Lord.
