Prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord God and all the saints. Icon of the Mother of God “Three Hands”

Instructions

A prayer service, in its essence, is a shortened Matins. It consists of the following main parts: canon, troparion, litany, reading of the Gospel. The Book of Prayer Songs and the Trebnik contain rites. Thanksgiving prayer differs from others in that it is in gratitude for what God has given through your prayer: healing from an illness, help in business, etc.

To order a thanksgiving prayer in any church, you need to go to the candle box and submit a note with the names of those people from whom (or for whom) it will be performed; your name, if you are giving thanks for what was sent down for you, must also be indicated. You can turn to Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and the saints in the Prayer Service. Prayers of thanksgiving serve exclusively the Lord.

While performing the Thanksgiving prayer, the priest, after the end of the Liturgy, proclaims the beginning before the Throne, followed by a peaceful litany with the mention of those thanking and the addition of special petitions, then follows the reading of the Gospel, the Apostle and a special litany, during which the names of those thanking are mentioned, then a thanksgiving to the Lord and the singing of the Doxology or “We praise God to you...”. The prayer service ends with the blessing of those thanking, anointing with consecrated oil and sprinkling.

In various everyday circumstances, it is customary to turn to certain Mother of God or saints of God. Thus, prayers for health are ordered by the healer and great martyr Panteleimon, and in order to get rid of alcohol addiction, they turn to the Mother of God “Inexhaustible Chalice” and to the martyr Boniface.

Prayer services can be performed not only in the temple, but also in houses, in the fields, etc., and are sometimes combined with the blessing of water. Some prayer services are served in times of need or at the request of individuals, while others related to public worship are performed in special set time or during .

You need to order prayer services before the Liturgy, otherwise it indicates a misunderstanding of the essence of the Eucharist.

  • Why do they order a prayer service?

A prayer service is a short-term service during which believers turn to God with prayers about their private concerns and problems.

You can also turn to the Holy Virgin Mary or one of the canonized ones. During the prayer service, blessings can also be given during a long journey, important work, study, etc. You can also serve a prayer of thanks or offer praise to the Lord, who protected and guided you on the true path, and who listened to the prayer for help. You can also order a prayer service on your own name day, fervently praying to the holy protector.

God will definitely listen to your prayers if you pray sincerely and fervently

You should pray for little things at a prayer service sincerely and fervently. In addition to private prayers, blessings are asked during national prayer singing: water blessing, New Year's, as well as during prayers for those suffering from, unclean spirits, etc. Solemn rites are held on the first Sunday of Great Lent, called the Triumph of Orthodoxy, and on the Nativity of Christ. Ordering a prayer service is simple: a note with the name or names of those for whom (or on whose behalf) the prayer service will be performed is placed behind the candle box. Take your time to leave the temple after ordering a prayer service and leaving a note. The Lord is merciful and accepts any sacrifice, but his favor first of all goes to the one who needs it most: therefore, pray with the priest.

What else is ordered along with the prayer service?

Akathists or canons can be added to the prayer service. Most often, the priest, having completed the service, anoints them with blessed oil and sprinkles them with holy water. The greater your faith, the sooner the Lord will come after the prayer service. After completing a prayer service, do not turn to God or the saints for help again. A sincere believer - there is no need to abuse it. You can order a prayer service several times on one occasion only when you ask for the healing of a sick person, or if the service of prayer services is performed in accordance with a vow.

In the Orthodox Church, a believer has the opportunity not only to pray for someone on his own, but also to have the name of a loved one mentioned during the prayer service. To do this, you need to write a special note, which must be properly formatted.

Instructions

Go to the church and find the minister who is in charge of accepting notes asking for a prayer mention. Usually you can buy candles from him. In some cases, the church may have a box in which you must place the note yourself. There will be an explanatory inscription on it. If you cannot figure out where to submit notes, contact one of the parishioners who is not currently reading a prayer, or a free clergyman.

Indicate on what occasion you need to mention a person close to you in the prayer service. Most often they pray “For health” for the living and “For repose” for the dead. However, the wording can be more specific, for example, “On successful childbirth” for a pregnant woman or “On maintaining faith” for those who are overcome by religious doubts.

If you want the prayer to be offered to the Mother of God or to a specific saint, you should write down his name. Such an opportunity exists during the ascension of the prayer service.

Below write down the names of those whom you ask to be mentioned in this prayer service. There can be several names, for example, in the “About Health” card you can indicate all your living family members and friends. For a more personal theme of the prayer service, the name can be one. In this case, you only need to indicate the proper names adopted at baptism. People's last and middle names are not needed.

Give the form to the church minister responsible for collecting them. Pay the required donation amount. It may depend on the number of briefs submitted or the number of names mentioned. If you wish, you can specify the time of reading the prayer service in order to attend it yourself.

Orthodox worship is very diverse. In addition to the main church liturgy service, churches hold services for the various needs of believers. These services include prayer services.

A prayer service is a service in which one asks God, the Mother of God, saints or angels for help in various everyday needs. In essence, the prayer service is special prayer a believer with a specific request. Thus, prayers can be ordered for the sick before going on a trip. There are special thanksgiving prayers, prayers for help in studies, family matters, assistance in trade. The list is by no means exhaustive.

You can pray to both the Lord and the saints or the Mother of God. In this case, it is necessary to indicate to whom exactly the prayer service is ordered so that the choir sings certain troparia, and the clergyman pronounces the prayer chants.

Before ordering a prayer service, it is useful to know what time it takes place. In small parishes (where services are held on Saturdays, Sundays and great holidays) prayers are most often served in the morning after the end of the liturgy. In large cathedrals, prayer services may well be performed daily, except for a few days established by the charter (for example, Holy Week or funeral Saturdays).

In order to order a prayer service, you must contact the temple employee who accepts church notes. Just as a person orders a commemoration at a liturgy, or the recording of names for a prayer service is carried out. It is worth remembering that prayer services can be ordered for living baptized people. There are no prayers for repose in the Orthodox Church (for this, the charter requires the performance of memorial services).

If a person orders a prayer service for any saint, then the temple employee who receives the notes should tell which ascetic. The same applies to the practice of praying to the Lord or the Mother of God. Names for prayer services are written in the genitive case.

You can order a prayer service in the church at any time when the House of God is open to believers. In this case, the names will be remembered at the upcoming prayer service. In addition, a prayer service is ordered directly on the day it is performed, for example, before the Divine Liturgy.

An Orthodox person must especially understand that the mere recording of names for a prayer service is not some kind of mystical act akin to a conspiracy. This is why prayer services are held in churches, so that believers can pray for their relatives and loved ones during this church service. Therefore, when ordering a prayer service, it is good to attend the service yourself. True, there is a tradition of ordering prayer services during pilgrimage trips: in monasteries or holy places. In this case, the person himself cannot attend prayer services held in a specific place. However, this should not justify the absence of glue prayer or prayer in the temple for people at other times and in other places.

Sometimes it is worth ordering a prayer service in advance. For example, in cases where it is known that a shrine (an icon or relics) resides in the parish. Usually a lot of people flock to such prayer services, so immediately before the start of the service you may not have time to write down names and stand in line for the entire service. Therefore, it is worth ordering a prayer service in advance on the eve of the event or coming to the church in advance before the start of the service so that during the prayer service itself you will no longer be distracted from the church service itself.

Video on the topic

In the Orthodox Christian tradition, in addition to the main services of the daily cycle, prayer services are held in churches. These sequences are intended for the intense prayer of believers in various everyday needs.

There are several types of prayer services in the Orthodox Church. For example, general prayers to the Lord, the Mother of God, angelic powers and saints. In addition, each person can order a specific prayer service for his petition (request). Thus, prayers for those traveling, for the sick, for help in family life, trade and more. At some prayer services they pray for help in learning, at others - for deliverance from the disease of drunkenness or drug addiction.

Most often, prayer services are performed in Orthodox churches on Sunday after the end of the Divine Liturgy. Sometimes holiday prayer services are served (in this case, the latter are sent after the liturgy on a holiday).

In order to order a prayer service in an Orthodox church, you must come to the House of God in advance and write down the names of those for whom the prayer service is being ordered (or your own) at the box office or church shop. It must be taken into account that only baptized people are remembered at prayer services.

If a person wishes to order a prayer service on Sunday, it is necessary to come to the temple in advance on this day (before the end of the Divine Liturgy) and write down the names. Most often, the liturgy on Sundays is celebrated at eight or nine o'clock in the morning, and prayer services on weekends begin at approximately 10:00 or 11:00 (times may vary in different parishes). It is best to come on Sunday to pray at the liturgy, having previously ordered names for the prayer service, and after the end of the main service, still remain in the church for prayer singing.

It is worth noting that prayer services in Orthodox churches can be ordered in advance. For example, it is known that a person is going on a trip next week. On any day when the church is open, you can come to the church shop and write down names for commemoration.

Some believers who often attend services book prayer services immediately for the next week and holiday. This practice is also quite appropriate and justified, because you can order a thanksgiving prayer service, for example, at any time and on any day.

Thus, ordering a prayer service in an Orthodox church is very simple. You just need to come to the House of God and write down the names of your relatives and friends who have been honored with holy baptism.

It is best not to limit yourself to the formal recording of names in . This is why they order prayer services so that together with the priest they can offer their prayers to God, the Mother of God, angels or saints, and for this it is desirable to be personally present and pray at the prayer service.

In Christian liturgical practice, prayers are called services in which a holy person is addressed in order to receive a specific petition. There are several types of prayers, in which a believer can make a request to the Lord, the Mother of God, a saint or angels.

For many people, even churchgoers, spiritual life is often consumerist and represents a huge list of requests to the Lord. Most of the time people are in a hustle and bustle worldly life They don’t notice that the Almighty constantly sends us many mercies and we are in great debt to Him.

Why is a prayer of thanksgiving necessary?

A prayer of gratitude to God for everything is those grateful words that each of us is obliged to offer to Heaven for help, support, consolation, joy, and even for the diseases and troubles sent.

You can give thanks through prayers, but it is also not prohibited in your own words. The soul of a person is alive, and it is alive as long as faith glows in it. And it is necessary to nourish the life of the soul daily prayers, giving mercy to those in need, making feasible donations to the temple.

Ingratitude is unbelief. Ungrateful people are unworthy of salvation; they do not see the good paths that the Lord shows them. It seems to such people that everything that happens in their fate is accidental, and sometimes they are visited by thoughts about the meaninglessness of life.

Advice! Orthodox prayer gratitude to God for everything is the praise to the Almighty that must be offered constantly.

Our heavenly mentors teach us to thank God for everything. What does the concept of “thank God” include? This means completely, completely trusting Him with yourself and your life, knowing that the Savior will never leave His faithful children in trouble and will definitely help.

More about prayers of thanksgiving:

This faith in the help of the Almighty helps us, Orthodox Christians, to find those true words of gratitude to the caring and loving Father Heavenly for everything, both for earthly sorrows and for joys.

Prayerful thanks to God

Prayer 1

My many-merciful and all-merciful God, Lord Jesus Christ, for the sake of love you came down and became incarnate, so that you would save everyone. And again, Savior, save me by grace, I pray to You; Even if you save me from works, there is no grace and a gift, but more than a duty. He who is abundant in generosity and unspeakable in mercy! Believe in Me, O my Christ, you will live and will not see death forever. And I also have faith, I am in You, saves the desperate, behold, I believe, save me, For You are my God and Creator. Let faith instead of works be imputed to me, O my God, for you will not find works to justify me. But let that faith of mine prevail in place of all, that let it answer, that let it justify me, that let it show me to be a partaker of Thy eternal glory. Let Satan not kidnap me, and boast to the Word that he has torn me from Your hand and fence; But either I want, save me, or I don’t want, O Christ my Savior, I will soon foresee, I will soon perish: For you are my God from my mother’s womb. Grant me, Lord, now to love You, as I have sometimes loved that very sin; And again I worked for You without laziness, I worked for the skin first of the flattering Satan. Most of all, I will serve You, my Lord and God Jesus Christ, all the days of my life, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 2

We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those who were in deed and in word: who loved us as and You deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, making us worthy to be worthy of Your love. Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, Lord, all those who call your name in truth, remember everyone who wants good or what is contrary to us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.

Prayer 3

The Cathedral of Saints Angel and Archangel, with all the heavenly powers, sings to Thee and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. Save me, Who art thou King on high, save me and sanctify me, Source of sanctification; For from You all creation is strengthened, To You countless warriors sing the Trisagion hymn. Unworthy of You, who sits in the unapproachable light, of whom all things are terrified, I pray: enlighten my mind, cleanse my heart, and open my lips, so that I may worthily sing to You: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord, always, now, and ever and to endless ages of ages. Amen.

4 Song of praise to St. Ambrose of Milan

We praise God to you, we confess the Lord to you, the whole earth magnifies the eternal Father to you. To You all the angels, to You the heavens and all the powers, to You the cherubim and seraphim's unceasing voices cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of hosts, the heavens and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory. To you is the glorious apostolic face, to you the prophetic number of praise, to you is praised by the bright martyr's army, to you throughout the entire universe the Holy Church confesses, the Father of incomprehensible majesty, the worship of your true and only begotten Son, and the Holy Comforter of the Spirit. You, the King of Glory Christ, You are the ever-present Son of the Father: You, having received man for the deliverance, did not disdain the Virgin’s womb. Having overcome the sting of death, you have opened the Kingdom of Heaven to believers. You are seated at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father, the Judge is trusting to come. We therefore ask you: help your servants, whom you have redeemed with your honest blood. Make it worthy to reign with Your saints in Your eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Lord, and bless Thy inheritance, I will correct and exalt them forever: we will bless Thee all the days, and we will praise Thy name forever and ever. Grant, Lord, that on this day we may be preserved without sin. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us: may Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we trust in Thee: in Thee, O Lord, do we trust, that we may not be ashamed forever. Amen.

5 Prayer of thanksgiving for all God’s blessings, St. John of Kronstadt

God! What will I bring to You, how will I thank You for Your constant, greatest mercies to me and to the rest of Your people? For behold, every moment I am enlivened by Your Holy Spirit, every moment I breathe the air You have diffused, light, pleasant, healthy, strengthening, I am enlightened by Your joyful and life-giving light - spiritual and material; I feed on sweet and life-giving spiritual food and the same drink, the holy Mysteries of Your Body and Blood and material sweet food and drinks; You dress me with a bright, beautiful royal robe - with Yourself and material clothes, you cleanse my sins, heal and cleanse my many and fierce sinful passions; You take away my spiritual corruption in the power of Your immeasurable goodness, wisdom and strength, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit - the Spirit of holiness, grace; You give my soul truth, peace and joy, space, strength, boldness, courage, strength, and you endow my body with precious health; You teach my hands to fight and my fingers to fight with the invisible enemies of my salvation and bliss, with the enemies of the holiness and power of Your glory, with the spirits of wickedness in high places; You crown with success my deeds done in Your name... For all this I thank, glorify and bless Your all-good, fatherly, all-powerful power, O God, our Savior, our Benefactor. But be known by Your other people as You appeared to me, O Lover of Mankind, so that they may know You, the Father of all, Your goodness, Your providence, Your wisdom and power, and glorify You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 6

I thank You, Lord my God, for giving me existence, for giving me birth in Christian faith, for the Most Pure Virgin Mary, Intercessor for the salvation of our race, for Your holy Saints praying for us, for the Guardian Angel, for public worship that supports faith and virtue in us, for Holy Bible, for the Holy Sacraments, and especially Your Body and Blood, for the mysterious grace-filled consolations, for the hope of receiving the Kingdom of Heaven and for all the blessings You have given me.

Prayer 7

Glory to Thee Savior, Almighty Power! Glory to Thee Savior, Omnipresent Power! Glory to Thee, most merciful Womb! Glory to Thee, ever-opening Hearing to hear the prayer of the accursed me, to have mercy on me and save me from my sins! Glory to Thee, brightest Eyes, I will look upon me with kindness and insight into all my secrets! Glory to Thee, glory to Thee, glory to Thee, Sweetest Jesus, my Savior!

Thanksgiving prayers

In every Orthodox church at the end Divine Liturgy The clergy serve thanksgiving prayers - during their reading, the priest says special prayers to the Lord. Dates of services can be found in each church shop or on cathedral websites.

How to order a prayer service correctly:

Icon of Jesus Christ

  1. At the temple you need to order a thanksgiving service and write a note. It is necessary to indicate the names of the thankers (in the genitive case, i.e. “from whom?”), writing them down in a column.
  2. It is allowed to add “statuses” next to names: bol. - means “sick”, mld. - infant (child under 7 years old), neg. - youth, cont. - not idle, pregnant.
  3. There is no need to indicate the reason for gratitude; Heavenly Father already knows everything.
  4. People who order a thanksgiving prayer must be baptized in the Orthodox faith.
  5. Before starting the prayer service, it is advisable to purchase a church candle and place it in a candlestick in front of the icon of Christ.
  6. If the candles in the candlestick are not lit, there is no need to act without permission and light them. This will be done by a candle maker - a servant who has obedience in the temple.
Attention! Personal presence at the prayer service is required! After all, the Lord fulfilled the request of the prayer book, and the prayer book itself is trying to thank Christ for His good deeds, without even bothering to spend 20-30 minutes praying in the temple. This is, to put it mildly, ugly.

Prayers of thanksgiving should be offered in church. Relief is given only to those who, due to weakness, illness, old age, etc. good reasons cannot visit the holy monastery of God. You can pray to them and thank Christ at home. The main thing is that words of gratitude must come from the depths of the heart.

Jesus Christ the Great Bishop

  1. Sit in silence and think about what good and kind things have happened in your life.
    Many people do not attach much importance to what they have in life. Some complain that their house is too small, but they want a big one, not realizing that they have the benefit of a roof over their heads, which is the only dream for those who do not have their own shelter. Others are not happy that there is food in the refrigerator, but they want something more refined, more tasty. At this time, they do not think that there are people who eat “empty” pasta every day or even go hungry.
  2. If you don’t know special prayers of gratitude, thank the Heavenly Father in a simple way, from the heart, and then say three times Sign of the Cross. And if you are in public place, then just quietly say “Thank you, Lord.”
  3. Orthodox people are commanded to thank the Lord for everything that happens in their lives, good and bad.
    Churched Christians believe that nothing happens to them just like that, and the Lord sends all trials to them to repent of their sins and guide them on the right, true path.
  4. Read the Psalter, a book included in the Bible. It contains many songs (psalms) that are read about health for the deceased, many of them are dedicated to thanking the Lord.
  5. Come to Orthodox church, buy a candle in a church shop and place it near the Face of the Savior.
  6. Place some money in the donation box (usually located in the parish store or worship hall), even if it is a very small amount.
Advice! Even if you don’t understand the meaning of the psalms, don’t stop reading, read anyway and the Almighty will spiritually strengthen you and your faith.

What else you need to know about Orthodoxy:

Important! Remember that the size of the candle has no effect on the “quality and size” of gratitude. The icon of Christ is usually located in front of the church altar with right side. If you don’t know the text of the prayer by heart, then buy a prayer book - a book that contains basic prayers for different cases life.

This money will be used to restore the church, purchase icons and church utensils. A monetary sacrifice to the temple - the house of God - is also gratitude to the Lord.

Do any good deeds, give alms - this is the best gratitude to Heaven!

Video about how to thank God and the saints for blessings.

Complete collection and description: a strong prayer of gratitude to God for the spiritual life of a believer.

A prayer of gratitude to the Lord God for help, support, solutions to pressing problems, healing from illnesses - this is the gratitude that every prayer book should offer to the Creator. God is Love, and in addition to faith in Him, you must be able to give thanks.

What to say thanks for

For most people, and even those who consider themselves believers, everyday life seems dull and heavy.

There seems to be absolutely nothing to express a grateful feeling of gratitude to Christ for. This happens because people have forgotten how to accept gifts and enjoy them, considering what they receive as something they should have. But each of us receives the richest treasures from God: life, love, friendship, the ability to breathe, think, give birth to children.

It was Heaven that gave us the majestic beauty of nature, rivers and lakes, steppes, mountains, trees, the moon, and heavenly bodies. And if we don’t know how to thank, we don’t receive other gifts.

If you have received what you asked for, thank the Almighty, in your own words, or better yet, in prayers. The human soul is alive as long as faith lives. And it must be supported by prayer appeals.

Advice! In addition to prayer, thanksgiving can be expressed by giving alms to poor people or tithing to the temple.

For every day lived, for the blessings sent down from Heaven, for health, for the happiness of beloved children - for all the blessings of God from the lips of the petitioners should sound thanksgiving prayer Lord God.

It is necessary to learn to appreciate what seems self-evident, every little thing - only then will a person understand that absolutely everything in this mortal world happens according to the Will of the Heavenly Father.

Giving thanks to Jesus Christ is necessary with with a pure heart and a bright soul, only then will it reach the Throne of God. And in response to the prayer book, God’s blessing and mercy will descend.

Thanksgiving Service

In addition to prayers, the Church practices the service of thanksgiving prayer.

How to order a prayer service

To order it you need:

  • come to the temple and write a note in the candle shop with the title “Thanksgiving prayer to Jesus Christ”;
  • enter in the column the names of the donors, only those given in the Sacrament of Baptism (in the genitive case - from whom: Nina, George, Lyubov, Sergius, Dimitri);
  • there is no need to enter the surname, patronymic, citizenship of the donor, as well as names in diminutive form (from Dashenka, Seryoga, Sashka);
  • It is recommended to assign status to names: bol. - sick, md. - infant (child under 7 years old), neg. - youth (teenager from 7 to 14 years old), warrior, nepr. - not idle, pregnant;
  • give the completed form to the candle maker and make the recommended donation (if a person is experiencing financial difficulties, then no one will demand payment from him for the donation);
  • there is no need to indicate the reason for gratitude, the Almighty knows everything and is aware of everything, He is the Knower of the Heart;
  • it is advisable to purchase a candle in church (any candle, and its price and size do not affect the quality of gratitude or the fervor of prayer);
  • on the eve of the prayer service, place it in a candlestick near the icon of Christ.

Important! Gratitude is offered to God not only for joy, happiness, health and well-being, but also for sorrows, troubles and misfortunes, for the Wrath of God and His punishment - this is a severe test and the path to Salvation.

Rules of conduct during prayer services

  1. It is necessary to be personally present when the cleric performs a prayer service and work prayerfully together with him and other parishioners.
  2. If a person is seriously ill, then one of his relatives or friends can attend the prayer service on his behalf.
  3. Being late for service is rude, to say the least. Usually the services are performed at the end of the Liturgy, and it always takes place in the morning. Therefore, you first need to clarify the start time of the prayer service.
  4. During prayer, you need to think about every word spoken by the priest and, if possible, repeat the text to yourself after it.

Important! You cannot be indifferent at the prayer service - after all, this is a personal prayer to the Lord of each parishioner who ordered the thanksgiving service.

Services in the church are performed in the Church Slavonic dialect. This language is not understood by all parishioners, so it is recommended to parse the text of the prayer service yourself in advance.

It is not necessary to look for translated literature on the shelves of libraries or in bookstores - now there is enough information on absolutely any topic on the Internet.

Often prayers of thanksgiving are read along with other ordered requirements:

Sometimes the priest serves a general prayer service, combining all the services ordered for that day. Don't worry, the "quality" of your thanksgiving will not be diminished at all.

The prayer of gratitude should take a place in the heart of every person. Its correct and sincere pronunciation can radically change your life.

She makes it clear to the Lord that the prayer book humbly accepts everything, joys and difficult trials, that Heaven gives him. Everyone knows that it is impossible to grumble at God, because obstacles in life happen when a person leads a lifestyle that is displeasing to the Almighty, which is destructive for his soul.

Advice! If everything in life does not work out the way you would like, then prayerfully thank God for everything, trust Him with all your heart, without relying on your mind.

And then the Creator will make all the paths of earthly existence straight and full of happiness.

Orthodox prayer “In gratitude to God for everything”

How often do we turn to God, the Most Holy Theotokos and the Holy Saints for help, and if the prayers are sincere, then help always comes. A prayer of gratitude to God for everything: help, support, getting rid of problems - this is the gratitude that certainly needs to be offered to the Almighty! In addition to faith in the Lord and love for him, you need to be able to be grateful.

The Orthodox prayer of gratitude to God for help is the praise that is recommended to be offered to the Almighty.

If you receive what you ask for, be sure to thank God. You can give thanks in your own words, but it is best to read the prayers given below. The human soul is alive as long as faith is alive, and the life of the soul must be nourished with daily prayers. In addition to prayer, you can express your gratitude by giving alms or donating to the temple.

Prayer eight, to our Lord Jesus Christ

This prayer should be read when the Lord Jesus Christ heard your request, and you received what you asked him for. And also, the prayer is read when cardinal changes have occurred in life, even those that at first glance do not seem joyful. For example, you were fired from your job, the landlady from whom you rented the apartment evicted you, your husband left. And it seems like - what is there to thank for? And because a new page is beginning in your life, the door has opened for new discoveries and impressions.

For example, your previous job hindered your professional development, and you deserve more, old apartment was poorly located, and new flat will contribute to any changes in life - meet your love, make new friends, etc. And the husband, who left and did not love at all, turned out to be a traitor and it’s good that this was revealed, you will meet a new one - honest and decent. As you can see, you can find advantages in everything. It is not always possible for us to understand the Divine plan, but know that nothing happens by chance. Everything happens in the best possible way.

My most merciful and all-merciful God,

Lord Jesus Christ,

For the sake of love, you came down and became incarnate for many, so that you would save everyone.

And again, Savior, save me by grace, I pray to You;

Even if you save me from works, there is no grace and a gift, but more than a duty.

Hey, abundant in generosity and ineffable in mercy!

Believe in Me, thou art,

O my Christ, he will live and never see death.

And Bo has faith, I am in You, saves the desperate, behold, I believe, save me,

For You are my God and the Creator. Let faith be credited to me instead of works,

My God, you will not find any works that will justify me.

But may my faith prevail instead of everyone else,

Let her answer, let her justify me,

May she show me to be a partaker of Your eternal glory.

Let Satan snatch me away and boast,

Word, to tear me away from Your hand and fence;

But either I want, save me, or I don’t want, O Christ my Savior, let me soon, I will soon perish:

For you are my God from my mother’s womb. Vouchsafe me

Lord, now love You,

As if I sometimes loved that same sin;

And again I worked for You without laziness, I worked for the skin first of the flattering Satan.

I will work for You most of all,

To my Lord and God Jesus Christ,

All the days of my life, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

An ungrateful person is worse than an animal. As the Prophet Isaiah said: “The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s manger.” It turns out that if a person does not think about who his creator is and who gives him everything he has, then he becomes worse than an ox and a donkey, who know who feeds them. And only by being grateful to God for all his gifts in life can we accept these gifts with any dignity.

Powerful Prayer gratitude to God for everything, you need to read it as soon as you receive what you asked from the Almighty. Don’t forget to thank him every day in your own words, even for the smallest help, for the smallest pleasant event, and then our Lord will never leave you and will always help.

Here is one example of words of gratitude to the Blessed Virgin Mary

The next prayer is words of gratitude to the Most Holy Theotokos. She is the patroness of young girls, mothers, pregnant women, travelers, they ask her for health, love, and prosperity. Therefore, do not forget about this prayer of gratitude to the Mother of God. The Mother of God is greatly revered by believers; she is the mother of the entire human race.

All her life she lived according to God's laws, helped everyone, never offended anyone, never said a bad word, the Mother of God was a meek, kind woman. Her life ended easily and quickly, as if she had simply fallen asleep. Before her death, the Mother of God promised to be their intercessor and pray for them. This is how it happens. Everyone who turns to the Most Pure One is sure to receive healing, requested help and intercession.

Prayer of gratitude to the Mother of God

To the Mother of God, Mother of God, I direct my song,

I praise and thank the Virgin Mary!

All the Angels and Archangels serve and worship you,

All authorities and rulers obey you.

Glory to Your belly, glory to Your greatness!

You gave the world the Savior of mankind,

You gave everyone a chance to live and exist!

You protect all women and mothers, You endow them with strength and fortitude!

You helped me in my life, for which my gratitude is limitless!

I am destined to glorify Your name and trust in the mercy of the Lord!

For all that I have, I thank You, worldly, I bow to You.

In this song I’m not asking for help, but I’m paying tribute, thanking you for peace!

I pray for the sins of my family and for my family, I ask for mercy!

Prayer of gratitude to our Creator - the Almighty God

How often do we thank our creator, the Almighty God? Few people know that the name of our creator is Hosts. Do not forget to thank him for everything, despite the fact that Jesus Christ said, “I and the Father are one.”

I praise and thank the Lord God for his mercy,

I turn to my Guardian Angel, With gratitude, with worship, with feeling!

Thank you for your daily help, for your participation!

For intercession before the face of the Lord, for mercy!

My gratitude knows no end,

Every day it increases and grows! Amen!

Just from the mere thought of God, our heart should be filled with gratitude for all his gifts to us. The most important and greatest gift is our life. We will never be able to repay God equally for this priceless gift of his, and therefore we must at least be grateful.

Praying to God for everything that he gives and helps us is also pleasant. In such a prayer service we express our love for Him and gratitude for His protection.

It is the Lord who sends us many graces, gives us life, health, happiness, and everything that surrounds you and me. And forgetting about the need to express our gratitude to the Almighty, we act unfairly towards Him.

Prayer of gratitude to God for help

When on our life path difficulties arise and difficult situations and obstacles, you cannot grumble against the Lord. After all, He sends us trials for a reason. This is how He shows us that we are doing something wrong, that the lifestyle we are leading is not pleasing to Him, and can be disastrous for us.

And if it seems to you that everything is going wrong, just pray and offer your thanks to the Almighty in prayerful words.

What we should thank God for:

  • For your life and your soul, for the fact that you are a person;
  • For development and growth, for the opportunity to take the first steps in any situation and overcome difficulties;
  • For victories, achievements and awards for works and deeds;
  • For the lessons, trials and even punishments that the Lord presents to us as a lesson;
  • For everything valuable that you have: family, children, parents, friends, home, work and even your beloved cat;
  • For everything that has already been experienced, for the past, which is life experience Yours.

You can say your “thank you” to the Lord with the following prayer words:

“Lord, I thank You for filling my soul with Light, for the fact that my life is beautiful and happy, for the fact that the fire of illumination and mercy flows into my heart. I thank and praise You, Lord, for helping me realize all my internal accumulations in my life, helping me fulfill my destiny and life program of this incarnation.

I thank and praise You, Lord, for the fact that my home is filled every second with Your Light, Your love; for the fact that peace, tranquility and love reign in it between all my relatives; for the fact that it is beautiful and good for my friends - the Spirits of Light, who love to visit it, bringing their light and happiness into it; for the fact that many wonderful people come to this house, filled with subtle humor, strength and optimism, with whom we together hold bright and joyful meetings-altars in Your name and for the benefit of all people on Earth!

I thank You that all people on Earth are happy, just as I am happy; for the fact that right now in this prayer I can send a Ray of Love to all living beings of our planet, and, truly, I send it and rejoice with them in their happiness, just as they rejoice with me in my enlightenment.

I thank and praise You, One Lord, for the fact that our planet is filled with fiery streams of wisdom, strength, love and is successfully undergoing its Transformation and Ascension into the Light.

Lord, I unite all the beautiful dreams of humanity and realize them here, now in my heart.

And I am filled with the delight of this wonderful Sacrament of Transfiguration, I inhale its aroma and give it to the entire planet. And every grass, every stalk, every insect, bird, animal, person, angel, elemental smiles back at me and thanks and glorifies You with me, Lord, who created Paradise on Earth. Amen".

Prayer of gratitude to the Guardian Angel and the Pleasers of God

The Lord gives each of us a Guardian Angel, who is with us everywhere, protects our earthly life, protects us from everything terrible and evil, and does not leave us even after death.

Angels rejoice when we are righteous Christians, lead a godly life, and succeed in virtue. They fill us with spiritual contemplation and assist us in all our worldly affairs.

Read prayer words to your Angel before any task:

“To the Angel of Christ, my holy guardian and protector of my soul and body, forgive me all who have sinned in this day: and deliver me from every wickedness of the enemy who opposes me, so that in no sin I will anger my God, but pray for me, a sinner and unworthy servant, for you are worthy to show me the goodness and mercy of the All-Holy Trinity and the Mother of my Lord Jesus Christ and all the saints. Amen".

Pray to your angel and thank him for his help and protection. Do not forget to thank the Lord God and the Guardian Angels and helpers of the Lord, His Saints. Therefore, as in various situations it is customary to ask for intercession and help not only from the Almighty, but also from His Saints, one should say “thank you” to Them too.

Prayer to Matrona with gratitude will help you improve your personal life, improve your health and that of your loved ones. And when they need help in a new matter, to do difficult work and just so that everything goes well, they turn to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and be sure to thank the saint. A prayer of gratitude to Nicholas the Wonderworker or other helpers of the Lord is also said when everything in life is going well.

This is how, for example, they read a prayer of thanksgiving to St. Nicholas:

“Nicholas the Pleasant! I address you as a teacher and shepherd with faith and respect, with love and admiration. I send you words of gratitude, I pray for a prosperous life. I say thank you very much, I hope in mercy and forgiveness. For sins, for thoughts, and for thoughts. Just as you have had mercy on all sinners, so have mercy on me. Protect from terrible trials and from vain death. Amen"

Do not forget not only to ask the Lord and the Heavenly Powers for help and intercession, but to express your gratitude for everything that you have!

May the Lord protect you!

Prayer of gratitude to the Lord God for everything

We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those who were in deed and in word: who loved us as and You deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, making us worthy to be worthy of Your love.

Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, O Lord, all who call upon Thy name in truth, remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.

Who needs a prayer of gratitude to God for everything and why? One day, Jesus Christ, enlightening the future Apostles, uttered the words: “You call Me Lord, Teacher..., and I am among you as one who serves.”

During earthly life, and to this day, He does not cease to patronize and care for us. And about everyone, not just Christians. Humanity can be divided into:

  • grateful to God;
  • never thanking;
  • involuntarily (accidentally) thanking.

The Orthodox Church refers to those who glorify God, and not in any way, but “correctly.” And this community was established by the Lord and His Apostles ( cheat Symbol of faith). Does the Almighty, All-sufficient, All-knowing and All-seeing Heavenly Father need our earthly gratitude? It turns out that it is necessary, and first of all, for ourselves.

Always rejoice and give thanks

Gratitude to God- not a simple manifestation of politeness. This is a response to His Love, filling the heart with joy, light, grace, which transforms the human soul. Imagine that your loved one has presented you with a bouquet of flowers. The mood immediately rises, it becomes light and pleasant. And this is just from some flowers. The gift of God is billions of times greater.

When giving thanks, a gate is opened through which the Spirit of God enters. Not only do “wings behind your back” grow, but spiritual wounds are healed, receiving the balm of belonging to eternity. Whatever it is in your soul, you just have to start thanking God, and pain, fear, and sorrow are transformed into silence, joy, and peace. Hopelessness and unbelief flow into living faith.

Ingratitude is pride

It turns out that thanks to us, we perform a miracle - we work together with God. He gives, and we accept His gift. If there is no feeling of Gratitude, we are closed to the penetration of Light. We remain petrified, we do not transform. Why do Angels constantly Praise God? They “feed” on His energy.

In order not to die, we need to eat. Thanksgiving is also necessary so that by connecting with the Lord we can be deified. A striking example of the absence of this feeling is Dennitsa. Having become proud, having lost his connection to the Creator, he imagined himself to be a god. Having once been the most beautiful of creatures, he turned into Satan - a terrible monster. Thank God we cannot see his current form.

Note: God tolerates us a lot, but He does not tolerate grumbling. Because this indicates a complete lack of gratitude. The Lord leaves such a person. Demons become his masters.

Why should you be grateful for everything?

The hardest thing is to understand that you need to thank not only for the help shown, some understandable joyful events, but also for sorrows, illnesses, and misfortunes. Sooner or later we will learn that it was not in vain that we suffered, endured, and bore grief on our shoulders. The Lord does everything out of Love, out of Great mercy towards us. Not a single hair will fall from our head in vain. In order not to explain for a long time, I will give a parable. Let it be a little naive and simple, but it gives an answer to this question.

Parable: It's for the best

The two Africans had been friends since childhood, like inseparable brothers. One was chosen as king. Having taken a high position, he did not forget about his faithful friend - he was always there. But he had an oddity, which, for the time being, the Ruler put up with. No matter what happened, good or bad, the comrade always said: “This is for the best.”

One day while hunting, the king was injured: a finger was torn off by a charge. And his friend loaded his guns. Yes, apparently the gunpowder was packed too tightly. Despite such misfortune, he said, as usual: “My King, this is for the better!” But this time, he was angry and ordered the culprit to be put in prison.

A year later, during another hunt, the king and his entire retinue were captured by people from a tribe of cannibals. They tied him up and brought him to their village. They had a belief: if a person had some kind of physical defect, he should not eat it. Seeing that the king was missing one finger, they set him free.

Returning home, he remembered his bosom friend. The feeling of guilt that I had treated him badly haunted me. Then he decided to ask his friend for forgiveness. He came to him, told him everything, apologized for keeping him in prison for a year. To which he replied, smiling:

- King, you did a very good thing by imprisoning me - it’s for the best!

- Yes, you're at it again! What good can this do?

- If you had not imprisoned me, I would have been hunting with you. And he would no longer speak, but would have been eaten by cannibals.

From the story it is clear that we do not immediately see what benefit illness or sorrow brings. Not in this world, but in the next we will know: the Lord dealt with us out of Love. Therefore, you must always give thanks for everything here on earth, trusting in God’s providence. Who knows, maybe it will be too late to do it later. Believe that everything that happens to us is for the better.

How to thank God for everything

A person cannot always feel a sense of gratitude both to people and to God. In illness or misfortune, one cannot speak of praise. The heart turns to stone, consciousness becomes dull, not only physical but also mental strength is taken away. I. Brianchaninov (having experienced it himself) advises:

  • Solitude. Slowly, pondering the words, say a few phrases out loud, overcoming your state and indifference.
  • Can I say briefly: Glory to Thee God, Glory to Thee. Thy will be done.
  • Or so: Glory to Thee, our God, for the sorrow sent.
  • Or like a thief crucified on the right: I accept what is worthy of my deeds: remember me in Your Kingdom.
  • Or repeat everything together several times. Until you feel peace and tranquility in your soul.
  • If you would like to express deeper gratitude, read Thanksgiving for every Good Deed of God presented on this page.
  • Ancient way You will find doxologies and prayers of praise in the Psalter. For example, kathismas 19 and 20 are fully consistent with this theme.
  • Finally, there is a wonderful Akathist: “Glory to God for everything,” compiled by Metropolitan Tryphon (B.P. Turkestanov).
  • In any temple You can order not only remembrance of relatives, but also thanksgiving to the Lord Jesus Christ.

See how quickly relief comes. If the situation seemed hopeless, there will be a way out. The situation will be resolved, the illness will begin to recede, and you will endure grief more easily. Repentance and humility that fill the heart will attract the Grace of the Holy Spirit, and with Him there is nothing to be afraid of. Then you will truly know how close the Lord is to us.

The highest form of gratitude to God for everything

There are many prayers of thanksgiving that you can choose to suit your occasion. Basil the Great recommended: preface any appeal with Doxology and repentance, and only then voice the request. Therefore, almost any prayer consists of three parts. Determine the appropriate one yourself. By adding to the address the words: “Thy will be done, and not mine, O God,” show cherished humility.

Church services are structured in the same order. The Eucharist comes first. Participation in it is the most effective thanksgiving to God for everything. Participle - greater good for man, and gratitude to the Almighty Father for all the Gifts, especially for the opportunity to accept the Divine fire, to merge with Christ through His Blood and Body.

Conclusion: You must always thank God, everywhere, for everything and constantly many times a day. But during the Liturgy, saying “Lord, have mercy” once means more than all the prayers read at home, even if you master 150 psalms.

Amen.

In Orthodoxy, it is customary to turn to God in prayer on almost every occasion. By their nature, prayers are classified into supplication, doxology and thanksgiving. The latter also includes a special sequence called “Prayers of Thanksgiving for Communion.” They will be given below in Russian translation, accompanied by a brief commentary.

Opening Prayer

These prayers are read, as the name suggests, after communion. They are not included in the rites of the liturgy, and are expected to be read at home. However, in practice, the text of the prayer is most often read in church after the service is over.

It begins with the words “Glory to you, God,” repeated three times.

First prayer

The first prayer of gratitude to the Lord God sounds like this:

“I thank you, Lord, my God, for you did not abandon me, a sinner, but deigned me to partake of your shrines. I thank you that you deigned me to partake of your heavenly and most pure gifts. But, the philanthropic Lord, who died for us and who has risen and given us these terrifying and life-creating sacraments for the good and sanctification of our souls and bodies, make them a source of healing for my soul and body. May they protect me from every enemy and enlighten the eyes of my heart. They will give me peace in my soul, true faith, love, devoid of hypocrisy, fill me with wisdom, help me to keep your commandments. May they apply your grace to me and lead me into your kingdom. I, protected by them in your holiness, will constantly remember. of your grace and not for my own sake, I will begin to live, but for the sake of you, our ruler and benefactor. And, having lived my life, hoping for eternal life, I will achieve eternal peace, where the voice of those celebrating is constantly heard and the apparently endless rapture of those who contemplate your unspeakable goodness. Because you are the true desire and unspeakable joy of those who love you, Christ our God. And all creation sings to you forever. Amen!".

As the context suggests, this is a prayer of thanksgiving to Jesus Christ, whom Orthodox Church revered as a god in the truest sense of the word. The next prayer is dedicated to him.

Second prayer

This prayer of thanksgiving to Jesus Christ is attributed to the hand of St. Basil the Great.

“Master, Christ God! King of the ages and creator of everything! I thank you for all the good that you have given me, and for the communion of your most pure and life-giving sacraments. I beg you, good and loving people, keep me under your care and under the shade of your wings. Grant me, in purity of conscience, until my very last breath, in dignity, to partake of your holy things for the sake of remission of sins and eternal life. Because you are the bread of life, the source of holiness, the dispenser of blessings, and to you I send glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and always and forever and ever!”

The next prayer of thanks after communion, like the first two, is also addressed to Christ. In general, in the entire sequence, there are four of them, and the meaning in them is approximately the same - thanksgiving for the gift of the sacrament. Therefore, when they want to reduce the rank, they choose one of them and omit the rest.

Third prayer

This prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord God is believed to belong to Saint Symeon Metaphrastes.

“Having given me your own flesh for food, you are fire! You burn the unworthy, but you did not sleep on me, my creator! Then penetrate into all parts of my body, into all joints, into the belly, into the heart. Incinerate the thickets of all my sins. Cleanse my soul and make my thoughts holy. Enlighten me with your fear. Cover me forever, protect me from any deed and word that harms my soul. Wash me and make me pure and beautiful in soul, kind, reasonable and enlightened by your light. Make me the abode of only your spirit and not at all the abode of sin. Let all evil and all passions flee from me, your temple, like from fire. I represent for myself all the saints, the angelic hierarchy, the forerunner of your wisdom. the apostles and your pure mother, removed from all filth! With their prayers, O Christ, accept me and make me, your servant, a son of light, since you are the source of our sanctification and the only good light for our souls. And to you, as God and ruler, we all send glory every day!”

The following prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord God is without authorship. In addition, of all four, it is the shortest.

Fourth Prayer

This prayer of gratitude to the Lord God sounds like this:

“May your holy body, O Lord Jesus Christ, our God, become for me the source of eternal life! And your honored blood - the remission of sins. And may this thanksgiving become for me a source of joy, health and prosperity. When will your awesome second coming come , you deign me, a sinner, to stand at your right hand in your greatness, through the prayers of your most pure mother and all the saints.”

Fifth prayer

This prayer of thanksgiving after communion is dedicated to Our Lady.

“All-holy Lady, Mother of God, the light of my darkened soul, my hope, protection, refuge, source of consolation, my joy! I thank you for deigning me, despite my unworthiness, to become a partaker of the most pure body and honored blood of your son. But she who gave birth to the light truth, enlighten my inner eyes of the heart. And, as the one who gave birth to the source of immortality, revive me, killed by sin, O mother, whose womb is filled with goodness and love, give me a contrite heart and humility in thoughts and bring me back. from the captivity of my sinful thoughts. Honor me until my very last breath, without condemnation, to receive sanctification from the most pure mysteries for the healing of soul and body, and grant me tears for repentance and correction, so that I can sing and glorify you all the days of my life, for you are. blessed and full of glory throughout all ages!

This is where the prayers of thanks actually end. Next in order are several more texts that have a broader meaning. For example, the following text is a prayer of gratitude to God for help, taken from the Bible, where it was put into the mouth of one of the righteous who were preparing to face death after fulfilling their destiny. The dying prayer is included in this rite as evidence of the communicant’s readiness to go to God if this suddenly happens for any reason.

Sixth prayer

“On this day you release your servant in peace, O lord, in accordance with your words. Because my eyes have seen the salvation that came from you, which you prepared before your face for all people. The light of revelation to the nations and the glory of your inheritance - Israel.” .

This is a prayer read at the funeral service, as well as during every evening service.

Trisagion

But this short and very ancient prayer comes from Byzantium. According to legend, it was not composed by anyone, but it was sung by angels during an earthquake in the city, of which one of the children received a vision. Since then it has been read at every Orthodox service.

It sounds like this:

“Holy God, holy strong, holy immortal, have mercy on us. It is read according to tradition three times.” This is followed by the words: “Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. And today and always and forever and ever. Amen.” This is what is commonly called “Glory today.”

Prayer to the Trinity

This is followed by another prayer, recited at each service. This short prayer to Trinity.

“All-Holy Trinity, have mercy on us! Lord, cleanse us from our sins. Master, forgive us our iniquities. Holy One, condescend to us and heal us from our weaknesses, for the sake of your name. Lord, have mercy!” This is followed by "Glory and Today."

"Our Father"

The next prayer in order is the famous “Our Father.” We will not provide the text of the prayer, since this is not necessary.

Closing Prayers

At the very end there are a few more short texts. Firstly, these are the so-called troparion and kontakion to the saint whose liturgy was served, that is, the saint whose pen the text of the liturgy was served belongs to. Since there are many liturgies, the troparia will change. And therefore we will not present them here.

At the very end, “Lord, have mercy on us,” “Glory today,” and this text is read twelve times: “With honor surpassing the cherubim and glory without comparison eclipsing the seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word in virginity, we honor you as the true Mother of God!” .
