DIY spinner: step-by-step photo instructions. Research project "making a spinner" Candle spinner

Spinner conquers the galaxy at the speed of light. Millions of people twist, spin and toss the toy, which has become a favorite accessory at work, home and school. For those who suddenly returned from a business trip in the forest, we explain: a spinner is the coolest anti-stress gadget for children and adults. The toy is made from the most various materials: metal, plastic, wood and so on. In previous materials, the gaming portal Game2Day talked about, and.

However, despite the fact that prices for spinners start from a few dollars, many users still search the Internet for how to make a spinner with my own hands. Today we will tell you how to make a spinner yourself at home without unnecessary complex gadgets. Let's start with something simple: make a spinner out of Coke caps and cardboard. And then we’ll try to make it more complicated and make a spinner out of bicycle chain. Well, then let's see what human imagination is capable of.

What does it take to make a spinner? Prepare cardboard, paper with a pencil, a compass with a ruler, several round bearings, a stationery knife and a simple knife, as well as a lot of glue: liquid, hot and superglue.

Making a spinner from paper and cardboard

A hand spinner made of paper or cardboard is simple to make: create a drawing (four equal-sized circles with places for bearings), cut out the parts from paper, and glue them onto cardboard. Cut the holes for the bearings a little smaller so that the metal part fits tightly and does not pop out. And then we simply glue three circles together around one at equal intervals.

Wooden spinner

Do you own a jigsaw and drill? Great! You can make an eco-friendly and pleasant-to-touch wooden spinner. There are plenty of drawings on the Internet, download and print them on paper. We apply the blank to a wooden board, carefully trace it with a pencil and cut it out along the contour. It would be nice to polish the resulting toy sandpaper and varnish or wood oil. You can even age the spinner using a lighter. The holes for the bearings can be made with a drill (drill halfway, turn it over and drill further). The thickness of the board must match the thickness of the bearing.

Spinner made of plastic caps

The spinner can be made without bearings. Take 6 plastic caps(Can different color, it will be more beautiful). We make small holes in the center of two lids. Glue them together flat surface to each other, but so that the holes are not filled with glue. Fold three lids around the resulting figure, distributing them at the same distance. We glue them to our double lid on the sides at equal heights. Then we take a wooden stick and push it through the hole in the center. We cut it off, leaving 3-4 millimeters on both sides so that it sticks out slightly from the lid. Fill the stick with glue and wait. That's it, you can spin it! You are your mother's engineer!

Spinner made of bearings

We will need three bearings, one of which should be slightly smaller than the others. Use a knife to pry off the protective liners from the small bearing and place them in a row so that the large ones are at the edges. We take three plastic clamps and tighten them around the future spinner. Firmly, so that you can lift the spinner by one of the clamps. We take two more clamps and tighten them across (on the sides of the small bearing). We cut the clamps and whoosh, magic!

A three-beam spinner will require seven bearings, a tube of superglue and hot glue, a wooden stick, acetone, salt (!!!), napkins and a utility knife. We remove the protective liners from the four bearings and clean them of oil residues using acetone. Then we lay out all seven bearings on the table so that one is in the middle and the rest around it (bearings without liners should go through one). We glue them to each other on top with superglue. We DO NOT glue bearings with liners! As soon as the glue dries, remove the excess and glue the spinner at the junction of the pieces of iron. Sprinkle salt there to fill the gaps and coat the spinner in a circle with hot glue. We wait until everything freezes and go show off to our friends.

What else can you make a spinner from?

Ohohonyushki! Well, we have questions today. A spinner can be made from anything. Seriously. You can even make a spinner out of a Lamborghini. Would you like to see? Please!

For tough men - a brutal spinner made from bullets. Melted and poured into a special form. You can walk around the area fearlessly. There is!

Reading time ≈ 6 minutes

More recently, the market for modern youth gadgets was blown up by an anti-stress toy called a spinner. Despite the large assortment of products offered on store shelves and online resources, the option of creating a spinner with your own hands looks very attractive, since it will not only save on the product, but also get the desired spinner according to your ideas and imagination. There are many options for making a spinner with your own hands at home, let’s look at the most popular ones.

What is a spinner?

The original name of the toy - fidget spinner - comes from the English word spinner, which means rotation or torsion. It consists of one or several bearings, which by their rotation help not only pass the time, but also improve finger motor skills, dexterity and attentiveness. An analogue of a spinner can be called the good old yo-yo, which in the early 2000s could be found in the hands of everyone. Now one of the most popular places among fashion trends is occupied by spinners, and various championships are already held based on the dexterity of handling them.

What is a spinner for?

The original purpose of the spinner was a toy for young people, a trinket that helps pass the time, but over time this spinner turned into something more. As practice shows, a spinner is an excellent assistant in the fight against bad habits. This applies to quitting smoking, snapping fingers and many other unpleasant moments associated with the fact that a person urgently needs to occupy his hands with something. As a result, spinning a spinner has become a real hobby for many people who not only master the skill of spinning a toy, but also compete with each other in this aspect.

How the toy works

The main task of this product is its rotation, which must be continuous and occur without special effort. The basis that gives the toy rotation is the bearing, which is located in the center. In order for the spinner to spin for a long time and beautifully, it must have the correct shape and a reinforcing load. Typically, three weights are used, evenly spaced from the center, however, you can often find spinners with two or four weights. IMPORTANT to note that spinners do not require batteries to spin. If the toy is completed in the right way, a slight click of your finger can make it rotate around its central axis. The most important thing in normal operation twisters - maintaining symmetry, because even a slight deviation in the size of the sides with weights will lead to poor and unstable rotation.

How to make a spinner with your own hands?

Manufacturing this twister is not a complex technological process that requires special knowledge and tools. The main material is one or more bearings, and there are many options for making the base. The main nuance of this process is the weighting of the edges of the spinner, because otherwise it will not rotate well. Coins, nuts or other bearings are perfect for weighting. IMPORTANT detail for hand spinners is bearing lubrication, which allows you to increase the rotation speed of the toy several times. It is recommended to lubricate with oils intended for motorcycle chains. If you don't have one on hand, you can use WD-40.

Wooden spinner

In order to decide on the question of how to make a spinner with your own hands, you first need to decide on the base material. Cool spinners are made from a wooden base, which, if processed correctly and with high quality, is not much different from factory analogues. First you need to create a drawing of the future product. It should be based on the diameter of the bearing and three weights, based further on these numbers. After transferring the sketch from paper to a wooden blank, you need to cut out the future spinner using a jigsaw.

Holes for metal parts are drilled on a special machine or using a feather drill. For ease of use, the workpiece must be carefully ground and polished. The reliability of the finished toy will be ensured by fixing the metal parts to the base with epoxy or any other glue. To make it convenient to spin the spinner on your finger or any other surface, it is recommended to apply decorative overlays. From available materials, two ordinary buttons of the appropriate size are perfect for this role.

Spinner with 4 bearings

An attractive manufacturing option is to create a spinner from bearings with your own hands. Firstly, this method does not require various foreign materials, except for glue and four bearings, one of which will act as a central axis, and the other three as weighting agents. Secondly, this method does not require much time, allowing you to get a spinner in 5 minutes of work.

The only difficulty in the process is poor adhesion metal parts between themselves. Reliable fixation will require additional heat treatment, which is often difficult to achieve at home. After gluing, excess glue should be removed with a file or needle file, thereby removing all rough surfaces.

Handmade spinner made from hot glue

Hot glue makes a great base for a DIY twist. For manufacturing you will need a set of weights, a bearing, hot glue and a base that acts as a flask (usually made of thick paper or cardboard according to the drawing).

An important point is the installation metal parts strictly in the center of its area. Then glue is poured into the mold and waits there to completely harden. After hardening, the paper outline is removed and the spinner is sanded to a completely smooth surface.

Epoxy glue toy

For execution homemade spinner You can use not only hot glue, but also epoxy in a hardened form. Glue in the form of plasticine not only connects the bearing and weights, but also is the basis for torque.

In this manufacturing process, it is important to correctly position the metal parts; for this it is better to use a pre-marked wooden board With drilled holes and inserted clamps. It is better to remove the main excess glue before it has completely hardened, then sanding only minor roughness.

The simplest and a budget option self-made spinner, this is working with plastic clamps that are designed to tighten cables. For ease of operation, it is recommended to use metal weights of the same diameter as the bearing. Weights are laid out at three corners of an equilateral triangle, as shown in the photo. Around them a base is created from three ties closed to each other. Then, each of the weights is attached to the base using a plastic clamp.

After this, it is installed in the middle axial bearing and uniform tightening of the clamps on the side of each weighting material begins. For reliable fixation, the resulting structure is tightened with three more clamps, from the center to each side of the weighting weights. This method manufacturing, although it is the most inexpensive and fastest, however appearance the finished product is significantly inferior to analogues made from other materials.

MDF spinner

Making spinners from fibreboard medium density its principle is very similar to working with wooden blank. At the beginning of the process, at small sizes Markings are applied to the MDF sheet, taking into account the placement of metal parts and the overall size of the spinner. Then holes are drilled for the central bearing and weighting elements and the size is adjusted to be close to the final size.

It is worth noting that when processing and drilling MDF sheets you need to be more careful and careful than when working with wood, since this material fragile and brittle. To provide an aesthetic appearance finished product It is recommended to paint it, and before painting the spinner must first be sanded and degreased.

How to make a spinner with your own hands at home

Published in Spinners March 16, 2017

The newfangled toy is gaining more and more popularity. It was invented in America. Last year, the spinner became very popular in Russia. The funny pinwheel attracts more and more adults and children.

A spinner is a toy on a bearing. Usually it is used for fingers. The size does not exceed the radius of the gap between the closed index and thumb. They are made from various materials: metal, plastic, wood and even paper. The shapes are triangular, rectangular, round.

Features of the toy

  1. Develops hand motor skills. Effectively used to warm up fingers after injuries.
  2. Good anti-stress. Relieves irritability and anxiety.
  3. An easy way to get rid of bad habits: constant hand movements, finger tapping and even smoking.

How the toy works

The hand spinner consists of a housing on bearings and a plug. The center bearing is the most important. The speed and time of rotation of the spinner depends on its quality. The plugs are inserted into the central hole.
The principle of operation of the toy is simple: with the middle and thumb of one hand we grab the central bearing. With the other hand we activate the wings of the turntable. With sufficiently good control skills, you can operate the toy with one hand. Use your index finger and thumb to grasp the center bearing.

The spinner is activated by touching it with your middle finger.

Making a spinner with your own hands

The simplicity of the design makes it possible to make a spinner at home.

Paper spinner

One of the most accessible means at hand is paper and cardboard. A hand spinner is made from paper using a stationery knife, four bearings, and glue. First you need to make drawings. Using a utility knife, cut out pieces from paper or cardboard. Holes for bearings are cut out nail scissors or a knife. It is important to ensure that their diameter is slightly smaller than the diameter of the bearing. This is necessary to ensure that the bearings fit tightly into the holes. The number of parts depends on the width of the bearing. Gluing requires a lot of glue. it will give the product greater strength. After finishing the work, we paint the toy in any color.

Spinner made from clamps

It's easy to make a toy from two clamps and 3 bearings. The clamps are inserted into each other. Place bearings between the clamps and tighten. The bearings should press tightly against one another. We cut off the protruding ends of the clamps. For strength, you need to apply glue between the bearings. You need to glue it in all places where the spinner can fall apart: between the clamp and the bearing, on the ties. The product is less convenient to use due to its light weight. But even a beginner can make such a handmade toy.

You can make your own handspinner using a 3D printer. Using an LED and a battery, make a glowing spinner. All stages of the work can be easily completed by watching a video master class on the Internet.
Most best gift for loved ones - made with your own hands. A little patience and perseverance - and you will get a spinner made from a bearing with your own hands at a minimum of financial costs.

Fidget spinners shift attention to themselves, thereby helping to reduce depression and increase the thought process. If you have a bad addiction, for example, from a cigarette in your hands, then fidget spinners can replace this habit. Along the way, they improve fine motor skills of the hands.

Previously, rosary beads were used for these purposes, but now spinners have become popular. Let's look at how you can make a spinner yourself from available materials.

Using bearings

The bearings must be tightened tightly with cable ties.

If they are used or oily to the touch, then wash them with an alcohol-containing liquid, kerosene, or diesel fuel. If there is none of this, then boil them in a soapy solution, adding soap shavings or any cleaning agent.

The structure must be completely covered with ties on all sides and the excess must be trimmed.

The spinner is ready.

You can make the design more complex and attractive.

To do this, arrange the seven bearings as shown in the picture. With this design you only need three circle bearings and one center bearing. The rest are needed only for accurate measurements, so leave only those highlighted with a red line.

Using a hot glue gun (hot glue) or any other metal glue, for example, “superglue,” we glue the three remaining bearings to the central one.

Then glue fluffy wire of any color along the edges of the bearings. Finally, apply glue to the side of the spinner and sprinkle generously with glitter.

Various decorations can be glued into the middle of the bearing. In this example, rhinestones in the shape of hearts.

The spinner is ready.

Bearings can be replaced with any other item of a similar shape, for example, plastic covers.

You can even use a bicycle chain.

To do this, use an awl to pierce the two lids and glue them together. They will be located in the center. To these lids we glue the side single lids as in the example above.

Place a little glue on the tip of a toothpick and let it harden. Instead of a toothpick, you can use any similar stick that can be easily adjusted to fit right size, for example, a match.

We thread it into the hole you made with an awl. We also treat the back end of the toothpick with glue so that it does not fall out.

Cut the toothpick and the spinner is ready.

Instead of a toothpick, you can use a bearing in this design. For better fastening it needs to be placed in the lid and cut off on one side. This way, plastic will stick to plastic, and the cap surrounding the bearing will have a large connecting surface.

For better rotation, the caps can be made heavier by adding a few coins and placed on glue.

Plastic lids can be replaced with chips or cardboard circles glued together in several layers.

Candle spinner

Take Play Doh or similar and place it in a large lid or other container that is slightly larger than the spinner. Plasticine should be in the form of a cake. Make a cast of any spinner on it, even a homemade one. To do this, press it into the plasticine and carefully pull it out using a match, toothpick, screwdriver, etc.

We place a bearing in the middle of the cast, which can be replaced, for example, with two caps and a toothpick from the example above.

Light the tea candles and wait until the wax becomes completely liquid. You can use regular beeswax or wax candles. You just need to first grate them on a coarse grater and cook them in a water bath.

Using a napkin, a piece of any fabric or other device, take a candle and pour wax into the cast.

After the wax hardens, the spinner will be ready. The process can be speeded up if the impression with wax is placed in the refrigerator for approximately 10 minutes.

At the stage of pouring wax into the mold, you can add glitter.

Or any other decorations.

Instead of wax, you can use slime, just place cling film between the plasticine and slime and put it in freezer for 1.5 - 2 hours.

You can even use melted sugar. You will get a food-grade sweet spinner.

The simplest spinner made of cardboard

On thick sheet cardboard, using caps, draw four circles in the shape of a spinner. We outline the connecting part with lines. Cut it out exactly. Cardboard can be replaced with regular paper, but in this case you will need 15-20 layers.

We trace it on cardboard and cut it out. We repeat five times.

Then we glue all the parts together, carefully coating the edges.

Similarly, cut out smaller circles. This example used a small glue cap. They need to be glued together so that you get two dense circles.
