Bypassing yota distribution. Bypassing Yota distribution restrictions: step-by-step instructions

How to distribute Yota Internet from an Android phone

Many mobile operators have restrictions on tariffs intended for smartphones and mobile devices. Yota is no exception in this matter.

In our article we will try to describe all known solutions to this problem. (root is required in all cases)

How to distribute Yota Internet from a device running Android 4.2.2

Option A

1) First, you definitely need to turn your mobile device into “Airplane Mode” - in other words, completely lose the network.

2) Next, launch Explorer with the ability to edit the file system of your Android and follow the path proc/sys/net/ipv4, find a file there named ip_default_ttl, open it and change the reading from 64 to 63, save the whole thing and exit Explorer.

3)The next step is to turn off “Airplane Mode” again and see the Yota network.

5) If you decide to connect your smartphone to a PC, then before doing this you must change the DefaultTTL to 64.

6) Start your PC, click Start -> Run -> enter the regedit command.

- The registry opens, go -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters - In the right window, right-click -> New -> New DWORD parameter (32 bits) -> Call it “DefaultTTL” - Right click on the new parameter -> Change -> On the number system, put a dot “Decimal”, enter the value in the field (64). — Save everything and restart the computer.

P.S If a failure occurs while making changes to your smartphone, you will have to go through all the steps again

Option B

In some cases (in particular on the meizu mx4 device) instead of manual method Changing the TTL of the smartphone was helped by installing the program -

Option C

In the following case the program helped

How to distribute Yota smartphone-Internet from a PC

1) Manual method - Start your PC by clicking -

start -> Run -> enter the regedit command. —
The registry opens, go to -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters-

In the right window click
right mouse button -

> New -> New DWORD value (32 bits) ->

We call it “DefaultTTL” - Right click on the new parameter -> Change
-> On the number system we put a dot “Decimal”, in the value field
we write (64). — Save everything and restart the computer.

2) Software - installing the program

Problems

Solving problem No. 1-IMEI

Attention. The procedure for changing device serial numbers is a violation of the law

The whole point is that when you insert a SIM card into a smartphone Internet Yota into the modem, then you definitely need to change the serial number of the device - IMEI. It should not coincide with the serial numbers of other devices that currently exist. You can install any IMEI device that was once and is now no longer available for a long time. (for this purpose and there are all kinds of IMEI generators)

Solving Problem #1 - TTL

On some modems, changing the TTL value is not a big problem.

But as practice shows (ZTE MF823), sometimes you have to change the parameter yourself. To do this you need to download the archive -

Important information. Technologies for bypassing restrictions are improving, as are methods of dealing with them. Easier and simpler steps are now available, described in our latest articles.

It became available for connection in my city mobile operator- Yota. What's attractive about him? Price 240 rubles per month and unlimited mobile internet with 4G support.

Bypass Yota speed limit

To our joy, now this limitation is not difficult to cheat / remove / disable :)

If you have operating system Windows, then you need to open a command prompt (Run), enter regedit.exe in it and follow the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters. Then you need to right-click on the empty space (in the right window) and select NEW > QWORD (64-bit) Value. Name it DefaultTTL, then double-click on it on the right side, switch the radio button to Decimal and enter the value 65.

For MacOS everything is much simpler :-) You need to open the Terminal and paste the following command there: sudo sysctl -w net.inet.ip.ttl=65

Now all that remains is to restart the computer and it is advisable to wait half an hour before trying to distribute the Internet again. After this, the restriction on Internet distribution will be lifted.

P.S. Torrents will unfortunately download at a limited speed. I don’t know how to solve this problem without buying a VPN or its analogues.

People who use the services of the Yota operator may sooner or later encounter a problem when they need to distribute the Internet from a mobile device, but the transfer speed is catastrophically low. Operator Yota on technical level blocks the ability to distribute the Internet to third-party devices, and speed can be increased only for an additional fee.

In order to bypass this limitation and distribute the Internet at normal speed, you need to perform the following steps:

  • Change IMEI on the distributing device

This step applies to all devices except Windows OS devices. Its meaning is to replace the IMEI with the IMEI of mobile devices running Windows. In this case, the operator will consider that the device is simply sending traffic to Windows resources. It is important to remember that the IMEI replacement procedure is not entirely legal.

To change IMEI, you must:

  • Write down the default IMEI in case of recovery. To find out your IMEI, you need to go to “Settings” > “About phone” > “Ident. phone code" or dial *#06#.
  • Find the IMEI from a Windows phone (preferably Nokia Lumia) or generate it in special programs. It is important that the new IMEI is unique within the same network, i.e. Of the two smartphones, only the first one to connect will be able to enter the network.
  • Change IMEI. There are two ways to do this, through the terminal and through the engineering menu.

To change through the engineering menu, you need:

  1. Dial the code *#*#3646633#*#* on your phone.
  2. Go to the Connectivity tab.
  3. Select CDS Information > Radio Information > Phone 1.
  4. In the AT+ line, add EGMR = 1.7,”new IMEI” to change on the first SIM card.
  5. For the second SIM card, repeat the previous step, but add EGMR = 1.10,”new IMEI”.
  6. Click SEND AT and reboot the device.

To change IMEI through the terminal, you will need a terminal emulator. In such an emulator you need to write the following commands:

Su echo "AT +EGMR=1,7,"YOUR_IMEI""> /dev/pttycmd1

For the second SIM card

Echo "AT +EGMR=1,10,"YOUR_IMEI""> /dev/pttycmd1

For non-Chinese brand phones:

Su echo -e "AT +EGMR=1,7,"YOUR_IMEI""> /dev/smd0

Su echo -e "AT +EGMR=1,10,"YOUR_IMEI""> /dev/smd11

For HTC phones

Radiooptions 13 "AT +EGMR=1,10,"YOUR_IMEI""

  • Bring TTL values on the donor and recipient to the same type

The Yota operator monitors the constancy of the TTL, that is, the number of packet passes. When a smartphone (donor) sends packets to the operator, its TTL is always equal to 64. When the donor starts distributing the Internet to other devices, for example, to another smartphone, the following happens: the smartphone sends a packet with TTL=64 to the donor, a decrement occurs on the donor ( decrease by one) TTL value and a packet with a TTL value of 63 goes to the operator. It follows that you need to change the TTL value on the devices so that it is always equal to 64 on the donor, or change the TTL on the donor so that when packets pass from the devices to the donor, their value is equal to the default value on the donor.

In order to change the default TTL on the donor, you can use the TTL Master application, but you must have root access on the phone for it to work. You can read about how to get it.

In order to change the TTL on recipients, you need to perform certain actions, which depend on the system.

To change TTL on Windows:

  1. Press the Win+R key combination and enter regedit in the line to open the registry editor.
  2. In the editor, go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters branch.
  3. In the window, right-click: New -> New DWORD value (32 bits) -> Name it "DefaultTTL".
  4. On the created element, right-click: Edit -> On the number system, put a dot “Decimal”, enter the value in the field (TTL 65).
  5. Save and restart your PC.

To change TTL on Linux:

You need to enter a command that will overwrite the /etc/sysctl.conf file:

Sudo echo "net.ipv4.ip_default_ttl=56" >>/etc/sysctl.conf

Instead of 56, enter the required TTL. Apply changes without rebooting:

Sudo sysctl –p

To change TTL on iOS:

Enter the command in the terminal:

Sysctl -w net.inet.ip.ttl=63

To change TTL on another Android device:

You can also use the TTL Master application or perform all operations manually (root rights are required), for this you need:

  1. Enable airplane mode so that the device does not see the network.
  2. Using any file manager, open the file proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_default_ttl and change the TTL value in it.
  3. Turn off airplane mode.

It is important to remember that after rebooting the smartphone, the TTL value will return to default and you will need to repeat the steps.

To change TTL on Mac OS:

In the root of the disk, go to the etc folder and create the sysctl.conf file. Write in the created file:

Net.inet.ip.ttl=65

  • On a PC, edit the hosts file

This is necessary so that the PC does not have access to sites through which Yota determines that the user is distributing the Internet. Universal solution does not exist here, each user must independently monitor which sites are using tethering and block them.

  • Use a VPN or proxy

The VPN will hide part of the traffic, with the help of which you can use services (Steam, Blizzard application), for which Yota blocks access. To do this you need:

  1. Find SOCKS proxy. Both paid and free ones are suitable, you need to decide for yourself which option is more suitable.
  2. Download and install Proxifier.
  3. Add the found proxy to it.
  4. Set rules for it so that it works only in certain applications; to do this, you need to specify the application executable files and set the added proxy for them.

Now applications will work through a proxy.

A month and a half ago, I left MTS for Yota for the reason that MTS, where I had been serving for almost ten years, decided to unilaterally change my tariff plan to one that was less profitable for me. I have become acquainted with tariff plans Yota, analyzed via Personal Area MTS outgoing voice traffic and decided to purchase 600 minutes per month, without purchasing an unlimited SMS package, since I practically do not use this service.

Switch to Iota with saving phone number took eight days, after which I could already use the new SIM card. As it turns out, Yota does not provide automatic access point settings, at least for Android. Therefore, I had to enter them manually myself, like in the good old days, when setting up communicators on Windows Mobile. Maybe it will be useful to someone brief instructions by setting:

  1. Install the SIM card into the phone;
  2. Wait for the network to appear;
  3. Turn on mobile data;
  4. Wait for the moment when the Internet disappears;
  5. Restart your smartphone;
  6. Go to settings – “more” - “ mobile connection" - "APN access points";
  7. Create a new access point, give it the name “yota”, APN: internet.yota;
  8. Save the access point and set it as default;
  9. Enable internet roaming;
  10. Install the YOTA application from the Play Market;
  11. Decide on a tariff plan.

This instruction was provided to me by the Yota sales department in Krasnoyarsk. However, some of my friends were not given such a piece of paper, so I decided to publish the information in this article.

I would like to briefly talk about the pros and cons that I gained by connecting to YOTA. Let's start with the good stuff:

  1. Voice communication, in my subjective opinion, is much more High Quality than in MTS. That is, I do not notice any sudden breaks or lack of sound in the handset. I don't have to call back multiple times to talk to anyone. With the exception of some comrades who are still on MTS.
  2. All the advantages of communication from Yota - unlimited Internet, the same tariffs for calls to long-distance, landline and mobile phone numbers, no roaming in Russia, free calls within the network.

Disadvantages that are also present:

  1. My smartphone does not receive 4G connections everywhere, despite the fact that the coverage in this particular location is indicated on the official website. Tested on two different devices - HTC M8 Dual Sim and Samsung Galaxy S5 Dual Sim. At the same time, in different time days in the same place, 4G connections may appear or disappear. No pattern has been identified in this. Resuming work with new generation networks after losing connection with them can sometimes be achieved by simply turning off and then turning on mobile data without rebooting the phone. I even wrote about this in support, to which I received a standard response about the strength of wind and thunder that affects radio waves. In general, I could not solve this problem, but at this very moment, for two hours already, my HTC was consistently receiving the 4G network.
  2. Second negative point, which was waiting for me, was that it was prohibited to distribute the Internet to third-party devices on a technical level. I was at MTS with this full order, and I could successfully spend my 3GB package on any needs. In addition, despite the quality of voice communications, the quality of coverage of Krasnoyarsk with 4G networks in MTS is clearly higher. Of course home Internet I have it, but occasionally I have to take my laptop somewhere with me and those places don’t always have free access to Wi-Fi. In addition, it happens that TTK sometimes experiences outages when the Internet is unavailable for some time. I don’t see the need to download a mountain of torrents using mobile data, the work with which, by the way, is also limited in Yota, but in rare cases I need to use the phone as an access point. Thus, I needed to understand the issue and find a way around YOTA restrictions, which will be discussed below.

It didn’t take long to figure it out, the solution was found before me, I just had to find it on the Internet. The fact is that the provider's automation blocks devices whose TTL value is different from the TTL of the smartphone. I will omit the description of technical details; I think that those who are interested in them will find them on their own. The essence of the process comes down to equalize the TTL values of the smartphone and external devices.

Default Most TTL Android devices has a value of 64, while devices on Windows default TTL is 128. From here we see two options - adjust the phone for all Windows devices at once or adjust each computer separately.

For that To change the TTL of a smartphone, you will definitely need root rights. And those who value a guarantee or those who do not need a rooted phone are not ready to take such a step. Changing your computer's TTL value is much easier Plus, the vast majority don't require more than one device to be configured. Therefore, I personally chose the second method by changing the TTL value on my laptops.

To launch the Internet via your phone and bypass YOTA restrictions on your computer, you will need to add an additional value to the registry. For those for whom this is difficult and unclear, I will provide ready-made solution in the form of an archive. In the archive you will find two files, most will only need one of them - “ DefaultTTL Tcpip" You only need to double-click on it with the left mouse button, agree to the changes, and then restart your PC. If the Internet does not work after this, install the second file in the same way. However, I have always been able to do this using the first one.

I uploaded both of these files to the phone’s flash card and now I can quickly configure any Windows device by connecting my HTC as a flash drive.

Of those who have reached this point in the article, there will probably be inquisitive minds who want to do everything themselves from scratch. Moreover, it is not as difficult as it might seem.

To begin with, we you need to get into the Windows registry. There are quite a few ways to do this, the most common is entering the "regedit" command to the command line. If you don’t know such a thing as the command line and you don’t know where to find it, I recommend a universal method - calling “ Task Manager" Click simultaneously Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys, in the upper left corner of the Task Manager window that appears, select “File” - “New task”,enter “regedit” in the field(without quotes).

The Registry Editor will launch, in which you need to follow the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

Here, in large field on the right, right-click on an empty space " Create» - « DWORD value (32-bit)" and give it a name " DefaultTTL».

Go on your phone using any explorer to: /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_default_ttl And check the meaning. It should be equal to 64, if the value is different from 64, then the value that we will enter into the registry should be equal to the TTL value of your device + 1.

Set the number system to decimal, then enter the value 65, then click OK.

Perform the same operation in the registry at the address (I personally did not need it): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Paramete rs

Upon completion of the procedures, restart your computer and begin connecting. If you did everything correctly, it will work.

So, why do you need to bypass the blocking from cellular communication? The company may introduce certain restrictions in its tariffs for smartphone users with unlimited access to the World Wide Web. Traffic speed limits may apply if the smartphone is used to distribute the Internet to other devices. For example, a laptop or tablet. Many technically literate people have the idea of using SIM cards designed for smartphones in modems or other mobile gadgets, or distributing global network traffic via Wi-Fi. But not everything is so simple - SIM cards can only be used in certain devices, and you can transfer traffic via Wi-Fi, without restrictions, only with payment.

There are also restrictions when using torrents - downloading files is limited to a minimum speed. You will learn below how to bypass such blockings.

How to bypass blocking of Yota traffic distribution

To use the Internet for free on gadgets other than a smartphone, you first need to bypass the blocking introduced by Yota. To do this, you will have to edit the registry settings and replace the hosts file.

  1. It's simpler than it seems at first glance. The main thing is to follow the instructions. So let's edit the registry:
  2. First you need to launch the Regedit application. To do this, press the “Windows” + “R” buttons and write its name in the window.
  3. Then click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. It contains all the characteristics and settings of the computer that are saved by users.
  4. After this, you need to open the “System”, “Current ControlSet”, “Services”, “Tcpip”, “Parameters” folders in turn.
  5. When you get to “Tcpip”, look at the window on the right.
  6. Right-click and create a 32-bit DWORD value.
  7. For it, create the name “DefaultTTL”.
  8. To launch its parameters, you need to double-click on the parameter. Place the marker in "Decimal" and set the value to "65".

IMPORTANT. Be sure to close the registry window to save the changes.

The next step is to make changes to hosts, located on the Microsoft Windows system. This is necessary so that the mobile operator cannot track the bypass of blocking in modem mode and the emergence of access to torrents. To carry out this procedure:

  1. Launch “My Computer”, click on the “C” drive.
  2. Go to the Windows folder.
  3. Open system32.
  4. Go to drivers.
  5. Open etc.
  6. Look for “hosts” without the extension. Right-click on it and click “Open with” in the menu that appears. A list of programs will appear. In it, select and open Notepad.
  7. Follow the link, press “Ctrl” + “A”, then “Ctrl” + “C”, copy all the text.
  8. Then go back to "hosts" in Notepad, and replace the text in it.

After that, save your changes and close Notepad.

How to bypass Yota site blocking - 3 simple steps

Let's look at one more important point, which is associated with blocking access to specific Internet resources throughout Russia. All Internet providers are required to monitor user actions and limit access to prohibited resources. But all these blockings can be easily bypassed. To do this you will need:

  1. Install Opera in Developer version. It has built-in unlimited VPN
  2. During installation, select everything as you wish and at the end of installation, uncheck the box next to the “Send information...” field.
  3. Go to your browser settings. To do this, log into your browser and enter “opera://settings/” into the browser’s address bar and press Enter.
  4. Select "Security"
  5. After that, check the box next to “Enable VPN”
  6. After activating the VPN, return to the tabs. You will now see a VPN button to the left of the address bar. It comes in three colors: gray (VPN disabled), orange (VPN enabled), and blue (VPN enabled). To turn on, select “on/off”. To select a country, click on the drop-down menu.
  7. To make sure your IP address has changed, go to any IP checking site.

It’s easy to bypass site blocking by selecting a proxy server in the Microsoft Explorer browser, but in Opera the function is implemented in a simpler and clearer way.
