You can also attach a special machine to a simple metal clamp, the main elements of which are a handle with a ratchet, a locking bolt, a shaft with a drill at the end, and a flushing tap. All this is enclosed in a metal case and attached to the clamp using rubber seals. The guide sleeve allows you to drill in a given direction. It is used to drill metal and cast iron pipes.

To drill a cast iron pipeline under pressure, bimetallic crowns and clamps are used special design. The nuance of working with cast iron is that:

  • It is necessary to work with light pressure. Cast iron is a brittle metal and does not work well under compression and tension;
  • pre-clean the surface of the pipe from a special layer applied to the surface to prevent corrosion;
  • Do not allow the crown to overheat;
  • should work at low speeds.

If you want to cut into a plastic pipeline, it is better to use an electric welded saddle clamp. It is made of special plastic, equipped with a heating coil and a drilling mechanism. There is a barcode on the seat body that allows you to accurately enter the necessary parameters: welding and cooling time, etc. The clamp is bolted to the pre-cleaned pipe. Using a special welding machine the spiral is heated and the outlet is welded (there are terminals on the clamp for welding connection). Next, an hour after cooling, a hole is made with a special cutter and the shut-off valve is screwed on.

Metal-plastic is used mainly for distributing water around a house or apartment. Consequently, the diameter of the pipes is small. If there is no inlet valve and it is not possible to shut off the water with the help of special services (housing office, water utility), then to supply water to an additional point you will have to cut in under pressure. The use of clamps in this case is not advisable due to the small diameter of the pipe. How to make such a sidebar? Very simple. It is necessary to prepare a water container, a floor rag, a tool, a valve and special fasteners. The pipe is cut. The end from which water flows is lowered into a container of water. A nut and clamp are put on it. Then a valve is inserted into it open position, which is clamped with a nut. Then, after closing the tap, you can continue installation.

Peculiarities

All proposed methods of tapping into a water supply system under pressure require certain qualifications, experience and the availability of special tools. After all, you need to act quickly to prevent a large water leak. If the insertion occurs in main pipeline, which is located underground, the water pressure is quite high and taking such a “shower” even in summer is not very pleasant. Moreover, the work is being carried out hand tools, for safety reasons, power tools are not used. In addition, if you independently insert into the main pipeline, you will have to obtain permission from the water supply organization - the owner of the pipeline. And this involves a certain amount of paperwork, a waste of time and nerves.
