How to choose the right heat gun to solve specific problems. How to choose a gas heat gun (2018) Gas heat gun for residential

This article discusses in detail the features and technical characteristics of such heating equipment as a gas heat gun: the principle of operation and internal organization designs, main types and rules for use in residential premises and garages. The text contains recommendations for making the device with your own hands.

Gas heat guns have a number of advantages compared to their analogues

Heat gas gun: operating principle and classification of structures

In rooms where there is no system central heating V winter period It is quite difficult to maintain an optimal microclimate for human habitation. Therefore, most owners of country and private houses prefer to buy a gas gun for heating their premises. This type of equipment has a high efficiency rate, while the consumption electrical energy minimal.

In essence, such a gun is a heat fan that runs on gas. These designs have many advantages. Among the most significant advantages are affordable price gas guns using bottled gas, their mobility, as well as simple system operation.

The demand for these modern generation heating devices increases during the heating season if the centralized heating system is absent or does not work well. The design releases warm air into the room, which is formed due to the combustion of fuel - gas.

The unit is enclosed in a metal casing with outlets designed for hot air. The shape of the gun is streamlined, inside it there are the following elements:

  • fan;
  • burner;
  • control device;
  • heat exchanger;
  • ignition device;
  • thermostat.

In addition, the case may contain additional components, which depend on the model and design features.

Types of gas guns for heating rooms

The popularity of gas guns is due to their practicality and wide range of applications. These units are used not only for heating, but also for ventilation of rooms, as well as drying large items. Despite the large assortment, there are only two types of designs: gas heat guns of indirect heating and direct.

Note! During the operation of the gun, oxygen inevitably burns out. For this reason, it is not recommended to use them in rooms where there is no ventilation system. This can be life-threatening.

Direct heating structures do not have the function of purifying air flows from burning, so in residential areas they can poison oxygen. This is the only drawback of such units. Directly heated guns have a 100% coefficient useful action and operate using a minimum amount of fuel and electrical energy.

In indirectly heated gas guns as heating element heat exchanger is used ring type. The operating principle of these devices differs from the previous version in that the design first burns fuel, and then the toxic products that are released as a result of this process.

Gas guns indirect action belong to the category of environmentally friendly devices. For this reason, there are no restrictions regarding their use. It is allowed to install indirect heating guns in rooms where ventilation is limited. The designs have only one significant drawback. The case is complete chimney, which significantly affects the mobility of these devices and also complicates their transportation.

Operating principle of a gas heat gun for residential premises

Before you go to the store to buy a gas gun for heating your living space, it is worth studying in detail the operating principle of such units, their internal structure and other parameters.

A gas gun works according to this principle:

  1. A burner is installed in the combustion chamber, where gas is supplied.
  2. The ignition device ignites the fuel, thereby heating the heat exchanger.
  3. The moving elements of the fan draw in cool air from the room and direct it back through the heat exchanger structure.
  4. The device is protected from breakdowns and overheating using a thermostat.

When the air in the room warms up to a certain level, the thermostat activates. At this moment, the switch breaks the electrical circuit and the device stops working. This principle of operation allows you to control the temperature in the room and maintain an optimal microclimate.

Specificity of a gas gun using low pressure natural gas

Heaters are most often used for domestic needs. Moreover, most buyers, when choosing the optimal device, will prefer to buy an indirectly heated gas heat gun with a mobile design, which is equipped with control handles and wheels.

IN stationary models available gas cylinder, which creates difficulties when moving. The technical characteristics of the gun, as well as the duration of its operation, depend on the volume of this container. Models with a stationary design are considered obsolete because they are less practical than mobile options.

Note! Compact models of guns powered by natural gas, very economical. The unit consumption is only 1 l/h.

Heat gun is an independent heating device. At the same time, she can play the role structural element an entire installation designed to maintain the necessary microclimate in the room. Structures running on natural gas can be used to heat specialized and automotive equipment.

The capabilities of this equipment will be useful during the repair process and even when installing ceilings tension type. The fan present in the design speeds up the processes. Heating control air flow carried out due to the built-in temperature regulator.

Why do experts advise buying a gas heat gun: the scope of application of the devices

This type of equipment, such as a gas gun, is in demand not only in everyday life, but also in production. The scope of application extends to heating residential and non-residential premises. Guns are used for drying individual components in industrial and automotive applications.

In addition to this functionality gas equipment will be useful in large areas, the size of which exceeds 25 m².

Features of the operation of gas heat guns of indirect heating for the garage

Non-residential premises collect dampness, which negatively affects storage. Such premises include a garage. High humidity is bad for vehicle, which has been in it for a long time. To remove dampness from the walls, as well as to get rid of fungus, experts recommend purchasing a gas gun for the garage. The cost of such units is quite high, but the versatility of such designs justifies the costs, since they can also be used in the country and at home for quick heating.

The power of heating devices is in the range of 10-100 kW. If there is no ventilation system in the room, the effectiveness of a gas heat gun for a garage is reduced to zero. You cannot stay in a room with a working device for a long time, and as a result of constantly opening the gate for ventilation, all the pumped-in heat will simply go out into the street.

Using a heat gun in a garage will create conditions for normal starting of a car engine, as well as performing repair work V winter time of the year.

In a heated room, any processes are significantly simplified and accelerated:

  • sorting of tools;
  • wiping the car body and glass;
  • interior cleaning, etc.

To choose a device with optimal characteristics, you need to consider the following points:

  • the material from which the garage is built (brick, stone or metal);
  • quality of thermal insulation (types and features of internal and external insulation);
  • absence or presence in the room electrical wiring(without electricity the gun will not be able to work);
  • features of the ventilation system;
  • total area of the room;
  • operations that are carried out in the garage.

Note! After using the device, the room must be ventilated for at least 10 minutes.

Features of operating a gas gun for heating rooms

There are two types of space heating devices. Some of them consume liquefied gas. Such designs may use butane or propane. Other types of gas guns for heating are universal. A component is built into their body that provides pressure stabilization. The presence of this device allows you to connect the equipment directly to the gas main.

Depending on the type of fuel consumed by the device, it may have different characteristics. The gas network pressure varies between 0.015-0.02 MPa. Therefore, guns are designed for different inlet pressures. In this case, the output of the gas cylinder reducer has a value of 0.036 MPa.

Differences between models also affect injectors, which may have different diameter sniffled. This design feature due to the composition of the fuel. The caloric content of liquefied and natural gas differs significantly. The bottled version of fuel is three times more caloric than what is supplied by the highway. For this reason, the use of natural gas as a replacement for liquefied fuel is not allowed if the design of the gun does not provide for such a possibility. This information is written by the manufacturer in the instructions that come with the device.

There are risks associated with using this type of heating equipment. During operation, breakdowns may occur that should not be ignored.

Gas gun repair: common types of breakdowns and reasons for their occurrence

Common gas gun failures and possible causes:

  1. The flame goes out when the forced fuel supply button is released - this may indicate a breakdown of the safety sensor.
  2. There is no ignition when gas is supplied - there may be no spark in the design, so adjustment of the piezoelectric element may be required.
  3. The fan operates without fuel supply - this sign indicates a malfunction of the solenoid valve.
  4. It is not possible to adjust the fuel supply during operation of the device - most likely, the gas line is clogged.
  5. A pungent odor appears during operation carbon monoxide– the equipment needs cleaning and adjustment of the gas pipeline on the heat generator. You must immediately turn off the device and under no circumstances continue to use it.

Important! You should not take risks and try to repair a faulty gun yourself. Replacement original components may make operation of the device hazardous. All repair work and service It's better to leave it to professionals.

Features of operating a gas gun for suspended ceilings

A gas gun is often used for repair work. It is indispensable in cases where it is necessary to install a stretch ceiling. By uniformly heating the polyvinyl chloride film to 65 °C, this device increases the elasticity of its surface. Thanks to this, the material is easily laid on the shelf base and firmly fixed in those places where there are gaps for its fastening.

Using a gas gun during the installation process suspended ceilings eliminates the appearance of condensation on the surface load-bearing wall. This feature is one of the most beneficial advantages of such repairs.

Installation of suspended ceilings is a one-time procedure. To do this, you don’t have to buy an expensive tool; renting a gas gun completely solves this problem. Many companies provide similar services, offering an extensive list of tools with different technical characteristics for any task, including the installation of suspended ceilings.

Operation of a gas heat gun: customer reviews

Many buyers have already appreciated the capabilities of gas-fired heat guns. The advantages and disadvantages of these designs are clearly reflected in the reviews that are present in large numbers on forums and online store sites:

“I bought a Ballu BHG-20 S gun. Among the advantages, I would like to note the attractive appearance and lightweight structure. A significant disadvantage of this model is the short hose and cord. Moreover, the consumption is not as small as we would like.”

Evgeny Vasnetsov, Moscow

“I’ve been using the Ballu BHG-10 M gas gun for some time. It’s very light and convenient design. It is advantageous that the reducer and hose are already included in the kit. I didn’t notice any significant shortcomings, but you need to get used to the device before the operation becomes completely clear. When I first started it the gas did not light up. How to make a gas heat gun with your own hands

In most cases, a heat gun is used by craftsmen as a heating device for the garage. Therefore, it would be more expedient to make an indirect heating structure that is connected to the chimney system and allows you to stay in the room during its operation.

To make a gun you will need:

  • two pipes 1 m long and with a diameter of 18 cm (body) and 8 cm (combustion chamber);
  • pipe with a diameter of 8 cm and a length of 30 cm (outlet pipe);
  • axial type fan with round flange;
  • gas burner equipped with a piezoelectric element.

Do-it-yourself gas gun assembly technology

Before you start assembling the gun, you need to make sure you have a diagram. It will serve as a guide during the work process. First you need to take a pipe from large size diameter and make a couple of holes. The size of one of them is 8 cm. The outlet pipe for heated air will be attached to this hole. The size of the second is 1 cm. This hole will be used to fix the gas hose. A combustion chamber needs to be made from a pipe with a diameter of 8 cm.

Helpful advice! In order for the combustion chamber to be firmly held in the central part of the housing, it is advisable to use plates that are welded to the pipe.

Next, the plug is prepared. It can be cut from a metal sheet. This element must cover the gap between the housing part and the combustion chamber. In this case, it is very important not to block access so that it is possible to connect the structure to the chimney.

At the next stage, all the elements of the gas gun are assembled together. This will require welding machine and skills to handle it. The combustion chamber along with stiffeners is welded inside big pipes. A pipe and a plug are fixed from the outside. Through this element, heated air will enter the room. All that remains is to install gas burner and a fan. All elements must be firmly fixed.

The process of assembling a structure with direct heating is much simpler. Such a gun consists of a pipe, at one end of which a fan and burner are attached. In this case, combustion products and hot air flows will exit from the opposite side.

Rules for the safe operation of a heat gun

A gas-powered heat gun is very easy to use. If you follow the rules of its operation, this device will not pose any danger to human life or health.

Rules safe operation:

  1. Drying shoes and clothes on the device body, as well as any actions during which the air duct or air collector may be blocked, are not allowed.
  2. The device housing and fan must be protected from moisture.
  3. Be sure to use wiring whose power matches technical parameters guns.
  4. Do not operate the device in a dirty room where there is a high concentration of dust.
  5. In the room where the gun is used, good ventilation must be organized.
  6. It is not allowed to place dangerous and flammable substances near the gas gun.
  7. The place where the gas hose is fixed to the fuel cylinder must be checked for leaks. Leaks are not allowed.

The gas is much heavier than air, so it can accumulate at the bottom of the room, creating an explosive situation. For this reason, it is prohibited to use the gun in rooms that are below ground level.

Gas heat guns are intended for domestic and commercial use. They are easy to use and economical. Such installations can become a great alternative standard heating method. The assortment of modern stores includes a large number of modifications with different technical characteristics. Thanks to this, buyers can choose optimal design for heating compact rooms, such as a garage or living room, and large spaces ( shopping centers, airports, railway stations).

Classic heaters will not be able to provide heat to a room the way a gas heat gun can. It very quickly increases the air temperature in almost any room - residential, utility, warehouse, etc. Manufacturers offer many models that can satisfy the tastes of all customers.

You can feel the positive effect of the equipment literally in a matter of minutes if you run the device at maximum power. Such a device is powered by gas, and a heat fan provides circulation to the heated air. Due to its high efficiency, a gas gun for heating rooms is an economical way to increase the temperature.

Introduction to modern heaters

Demand for quality systems heating increases significantly towards the beginning of autumn. Not always timely switching on of centralized heating or some breakdowns with it can delay the onset heating season. A heat gun will be very appropriate for such a case.

It can also act as auxiliary equipment during construction or repairs. The hot air flow ensures rapid evaporation of moisture from almost any surface. The heated flow is obtained as a result of combustion of gas supplied from a cylinder or from a centralized network.

The equipment can operate on both main and bottled fuel

The device is a relatively small cylindrical device with a streamlined, protected body. The front part is equipped with a protective mesh through which the heated air jet. The gas heat gun also has the following components:

  • fixed power burner;
  • metal multi-blade fan;
  • control unit;
  • metal heat exchanger;
  • ignition system;
  • safety thermostat;
  • additional devices, applied depending on the model.

What types of thermal gas guns are there?

To do right choice When choosing the optimal gas heater, you should familiarize yourself with the samples offered in online stores or construction supermarkets. The products can meet the needs of both small rooms and large buildings with large internal cubic capacity.

With all the variety of manufacturers, gas heat guns for residential premises are available in two versions: direct and indirect heating.

Equipment belonging to each of these groups is available for use in household and industrial conditions. The difference lies in appearance and function.

A direct heating heater does not have high-quality filtration that can clean the output stream from soot and soot. They quickly burn out oxygen in small rooms. It is permissible to use such equipment only in places where there is effective natural or high-quality artificial ventilation.

Directly heated TPG

In addition to this disadvantage, there are positive qualities:

  • high efficiency, capable of exceeding 90%;
  • low electricity consumption;
  • reduced demand for fuel.

The indirectly heated gas gun has a ring heat exchanger. It is the basic heating product in the design. The operation of the installation is that everything happens according to the following algorithm:

  • gas liquefaction;
  • liquefaction of toxic components;
  • emission of combustion products through the built-in chimney.

This type of equipment is the most environmentally acceptable. In this regard, the use of indirect heating systems is more in demand. The downside, according to customer reviews, is the presence of a built-in chimney, which slightly complicates the movement of equipment and reduces mobility.

Performance characteristics

In order to achieve maximum results, it is worth knowing how to use a gas heat gun correctly. Manufacturers have taken care to simplify this process. The procedure is carried out according to the following scheme:

  • inside working area a burner is installed, to which hydrocarbon gas flows gas fuel;
  • due to ignition devices, a flame is formed on the burner;
  • the fan blades force a flow from outside onto the heated heat exchanger;
  • the blocking function, which helps the system not to overheat and fail, is provided by the thermostat;
  • Having brought the surrounding atmosphere to a predetermined temperature, which is measured by a built-in thermometer, the switch breaks the electrical circuit.

According to the output power parameters and the available area of the room, it is easy to calculate the desired value in Watts gun. To heat a 1 m2 apartment with an average ceiling of 2.5 m, 0.1 kW of power is sufficient. Warm up accordingly small room in 25-30 m 2 a 3 kW device can do it.

Equipment design

Most popular for living conditions are gas guns of a mobile type. They are equipped with convenient handles and wheels for transportation. Stationary heating equipment is equipped with a large gas cylinder, which is difficult to move quickly. Its dimensions affect the duration uninterrupted operation. Such installations are considered obsolete.

Natural gas (methane) guns provide the desired indoor microclimate. They can also be used in garage conditions to create an optimal temperature balance. Often it is their builders who use them to work with suspended ceilings.

The built-in fan speeds up the air supply to consumers. The existing thermostat limits the heating.

A heat gun using liquefied gas (propane) is noisier in operation. Sometimes you can hear its second name: “thunder”. It is used as environmentally friendly equipment not only for heating, but also for scaring away wild animals or flocks of annoying birds.

For indirectly heated equipment permissible level noise is a value of 40 dB.

Modern heat guns are distinguished by maximum operating efficiency - the efficiency of the device is more than 90%, which no other similar equipment can boast of. It is also important that the burnt gas is not released into the surrounding area, that is, there is no risk of poisoning, and if the unit is used for greenhouses, winter gardens and other premises, the plants will not experience discomfort.

When choosing a model, you should consider whether it operates only from mains gas or whether it is possible to connect cylinders. In this case, the efficiency of the device is completely 100%.

In order for the TGP to cope with the assigned tasks, it is necessary to correctly determine its power in accordance with the area and purpose of the room. Next, the thermal insulation of the room is important - if there is heat loss, the power should be increased by 10-15% depending on the percentage of heat leakage.

The greater the power of the TPG, the faster it heats the room.

Be sure to find out the fuel consumption in order to calculate its amount in advance for smooth operation. If there is a possibility of a power outage in the area, you should pay attention to models that do not require connection to the electrical network - here the piezoelements function in autonomous mode.

It is strictly forbidden to repair gas equipment yourself without special knowledge. For warranty and post-warranty service and repairs, you should contact specialized organizations.

VIDEO: The most economical way heat garage and warehouse

A heat gun for a garage allows you to heat the room as quickly as possible. When faced with the topic of choosing such a device, you can’t immediately decide. Advertising advises one thing - the reality is often different. The choice should be based on several factors that you know about, because the garage is yours...

Let's start with the device and purpose

A heat gun is an indispensable thing for unheated rooms in our climatic conditions. Its device resembles the design of a hair dryer: heater, fan, housing, thermostat. To provide high speed For heating the room, the fan in such devices is installed quite powerful. The air flow it creates passes through the heating element and... heats up. In return, the fan draws in a new portion of air. Heat gun for the garage - a mobile device. Depending on the size, this peaceful “weapon” can either be moved or rolled to another “dislocation” location. Why a gun? Simply because of the external similarity: the body in the form of a cylindrical pipe is located on the frame either horizontally or raised upward.

Selecting parameters

The choice of a heat gun begins with determining the type and power for the garage is determined based on:

  • garage area;
  • the quality of its thermal insulation (or lack thereof);
  • mode of presence of people in the room.

Based on the type of heat source used, garage heat guns are divided into:

  • gas;
  • diesel;
  • electric.
  • combined.

Gas heat gun for garage - optimal choice in terms of power, efficiency and speed of heating the room. But it is not suitable for use in a room with people constantly present in it - this is a direct heating device.

Combustion products during the heating process will accumulate in the garage, poisoning your body. And constantly ventilating the garage simply “releases” the heat to the street. Heating a garage with a gas gun is unacceptable!

It is convenient to use for quickly warming up a room, but not for constant heating. A power of 10-15 kW will require only 0.5 liters of liquefied gas per hour of operation.

A diesel heat gun for a garage has an “exhaust” pipe, that is, combustion products are discharged outside the garage. She's capable long time heat the garage without harm to the person in it.

The easiest to maintain is an electric heat gun. I plugged it into the outlet, pressed the button and forgot - the thermostat will take care of its operating mode (if there is one, of course).

But there are a couple of pitfalls here! Typically, power lines in garage arrays are not highly reliable—they simply may not be able to withstand the load. Especially if there will be a lot of people like you (with guns). You should pay attention to this nuance when choosing.

The second stumbling block is the rather substantial bills for electricity converted into heat, that is, heating the garage with an electric heat gun.

Calculating the power of the “gun”

Knowledge of mathematics (at least from school) will come in handy here! Stop, stop! Higher mathematics is not needed here - read on!

In order for heating a garage with a gas gun to be effective, it is necessary to determine sufficient power to bring and maintain the temperature in the room at the desired “level.” What if the frosts are severe?..

We take into account the following ratio:

0.8 - 1.4 kW gun power ↔ 10 m 2 garage area

and this is with a ceiling height of up to 2.5 m.

For our “average” garage, 3 kW of power will be enough. If the lines allow, then 5 kW is a reserve in case of extreme cold. For those who like to count, we present a more accurate “method” of calculation.

More details about each type

Electric heaters

The simplest heat gun, familiar to everyone today, is a fan heater. For the garage, a “fan heater” of much higher power is used. It should be understood that an electric heat gun for a garage is a “gluttonous little thing”, and devices with a power of over five kilowatts are powered from a three-phase network electric current voltage 380 V.

Heat is generated when electric current passes through a conductor with high electrical resistance located in a tubular protective housing. This system is called heating element.

The fan blows air onto the heating elements and transfers heat into the room.

Functionally similar electric heat guns for garages are not suitable for heating rooms with harsh “climatic” conditions, for example high humidity(saunas, baths...) They are inferior in performance to their gas and diesel counterparts.

And they “eat” a lot of very expensive electricity.

Gas guns

Lightweight and inexpensive heating devices with a power from 10 kW to 100 kW, but they require you to carry a liquefied gas cylinder with you, which, by the way, also needs to be refilled somewhere.

Despite the small amount of combustible gas (which determines their efficiency), ventilation is required when operating such devices. When connecting a gas gun to a natural gas main, the compliance of all parameters must be taken into account. For example, for a heater with 10 kW of power, a gas pressure of 0.5 bar is required, and an increase in power will “require” an increase in pressure.

The devices are equipped with elements protective automation(flame control, thermal fuse - protection against overheating).

Diesel heat guns

The essence of the operation of these units is the same as that of gas units. But the fuel is different - diesel fuel. There are fewer maintenance conveniences, but there is plenty of quality.

Fuel enters the combustion chamber under the “control” of the fuel pump, which is “commanded” by the electronic control unit of the installation. This installation includes a fuel tank, which increases its mass. Combustion products must be removed from the premises.

Among the advantages: affordable fuel, economical operation (10-15 hours at one gas station), relatively safe fuel. There are direct and indirect heating models.

Indirect heating models use an additional heat exchanger and the combustion chamber is not in contact with the room air. Combustion products exit through the “exhaust” pipe.

Products of this class are used as permanent or temporary sources of heating - it all depends on the state of the thermal insulation of the room. In practice, this is an ordinary fan heater, only with a high degree of efficiency and unique functionality. Natural gas heat guns are used for high-quality and economical heating of greenhouses and greenhouses where flowers and vegetables are grown: during operation, they do not emit combustion products, unlike guns running on diesel fuel, and are also more economical than their electric counterparts.

The operating principle of this class of units is no different from other heat guns: the combustion chamber housing is cooled by air pumped by a fan. The warm air is then directed to heat the room. Gas heat guns differ structurally from their electric counterparts only in the presence of a burner instead of a heating element (HEN). The gas ignites automatically using a piezoelectric element.

This device can be used both for residential premises and for heating production facilities. For example, a high-performance gas heat gun with a power of 10 kW can heat a room in a new house with an area of 150-300 square meters. m. or a greenhouse up to 70 m 2. If the gun has a power 10 times greater, then it is capable of efficiently heating a building with an area of about 3.3 thousand square meters. m or greenhouse - 740 m 2.

One cylinder of propane gas is enough for approximately 60 hours of operation without stopping, and it must be taken into account that the fan heater turns off automatically when the set temperature in the room is reached, and then turns on if the temperature drops. For battery life The product is connected to a gas cylinder with liquefied natural gas, which can be easily replaced as used.

A compact heat gun, capable of running on natural gas, consumes only no more than 1 l/h to heat a living space.

Product classification

Gas-fired heat guns are divided into two main classes:

  • direct air flow heating products;
  • indirect heating units.

In the first case, when heating the air flow is used open fire, in which propane gas burns, the combustion products enter the heated room, but the efficiency also reaches a maximum when using this design. The dimensions of such a device are quite compact, the cost is very low, but ventilation is required for a constant inflow fresh air. Great fire hazard - not a single inspector will sign an act authorizing the use of this device for residential premises.

The second option is more preferable, because the combustion chamber in the unit closed type, all combustion products are discharged through a special pipe connected to the chimney pipe. It is better to install such products outdoors, and blow warm air through a special system with a sleeve large diameter from non-flammable material.

Modern gas heat guns, which carry out indirect heating of the air flow, operate on propane, which burns without residue, and the removal of combustion products is no longer necessary. Only their dimensions are larger than direct heating devices, and the price is correspondingly higher.

Application requirements

The operation of a gas-powered product, regardless of design features, requires a constant flow of oxygen from the ambient air for stable combustion. When the user chooses a model, these features must be taken into account.

The pricing policy depends on the size, power and brand: the more difficult the working conditions, the larger the volume of heated areas, the more expensive a gas fuel heat gun will cost.

The room where the unit is planned to be located must have excellent ventilation so that there is a constant flow of fresh air from outside. If there is no ventilation, then you need to choose a model with a thermostat that automatically turns the gun off or on, maintaining a sufficient level of oxygen. Equipment thermostat allows you to increase the efficiency of the product: when you reach optimal temperature it turns off the fan heater, turning it on only when the set temperature drops to a certain level. Products of this class are used in production, in warehouses, in the construction of buildings and for heating agricultural facilities, where people are not constantly present.

Unit selection

All the lineup gas products have very high operating efficiency, the fact of environmental cleanliness is also important - the burned gas does not pollute the atmosphere, there are no foreign odors, which is very important for farmers involved in growing flowers and growing vegetables.

How to choose a gas-powered fan heater from the wide range of models presented? To successfully make a choice, you need to learn more about the blue fuel used, the specific features of thermal units and their design.

  1. It should be taken into account that similar heaters operate successfully from highways or from connected to a gas heat gun balloon. The efficiency of such a device becomes almost 100%.
  2. To purchase the right product with effective performance, you need to calculate in advance how much power the unit requires. Are being done room measurements: you need to know its volume. You should also check the quality of the thermal insulation to see if there are any leaks. The higher the performance of a heat gun, the faster it will heat the room to the desired temperature.
  3. Please also pay attention to gas consumption, to know approximately how long the gun will work without the first shutdown.

All gas fan heaters have a similar operating scheme; we have already discussed in detail how it works a little earlier. It is necessary to note the fact that many people do not need to connect to the network because piezoelectric element can ignite gas without electricity.

TPG-10 kW for 7 thousand rubles is considered by specialists the best option For places where there is no electricity connection nearby:

  • runs on propane and butane;
  • productivity - 300 m 3 / h;
  • temperature up to + 90 C°;
  • gas consumption max - 0.76 kg/h;
  • weight - 5.5 kg.

This gas heat gun can be used from a gas main or with a connected cylinder, in places where there is a network connection and without electricity. The Sturm GH91101 10 kW product has similar advantages; at a flow rate of 0.75 kg/h, productivity is up to 330 m 3 /h, and the cost is only 5,590 rubles.

Experts strongly advise users to repair gas heat guns only in special centers where there are specialists in gas equipment, in order to avoid causing irreparable damage during independent maintenance.

Popular models

There are many models of gas guns on the modern Russian market: Master, Ballu and many others, but we will consider only the most popular ones.

Compact gun with a power of 10 kW, its operating speed is up to 300 cubic meters/h, and its consumption is more than modest - 0.75 kg/h. The connection is single-phase, the installation weight is only 4 kg, it uses liquefied propane, costs from 4.7 thousand rubles.

This model has a capacity of 1450m 3 /h. Her power with small dimensions it is impressive - 5300 W, and gas consumption - 3780 g/h. Therefore, its price is much higher - 10 thousand rubles. It is used for heating large shopping centers, supermarkets and industrial premises: repair shops, factories and workshops.

Ballu BHG-20 S

This is a representative of the middle class in the price category, can work for propane and butane, heating speed - 500 cubic meters. m/hour, gas consumption - 1.2 kg/h, power - 18 kW, weight - 4.9 kg, and price from 5 thousand rubles.

All of the above models use a piezoelectric element to ignite the gas and are among the 10 most purchased models. Master is a US brand, but the country of origin today is Italy, and Ballu is domestic development. For clarity, I advise you to watch a video about the functionality of Ballu:

Connection and operation

Before turning on the device, you need to read the instructions, where all the nuances of connection and use are described very clearly. Particular attention must be paid to situations where you can't turn on the device:

  • with increased dust content in the air mass of the room;
  • if there are vapors of explosive substances;
  • the exit hole is blocked by something.

Operating rules and safety measures may vary among manufacturers of different models - study the attached documentation before starting work.

Gas heat guns are very economical compact products, characterized by high volume heating rates and efficiency, which is why they are considered gas equipment specialists ideal option for heating various areas large volume. I would like to note that Russian heat guns technical specifications They are not inferior to foreign brands, and their design is almost identical, so there is no point in overpaying.

Cold and frost are common in Russia: on average, we have more cold months than warm ones, so the need to quickly raise the temperature in some room arises quite often.

Warm up unheated garage for car repairs or a room for construction or finishing work, to defrost a frozen heating system, to “help” the heating cope with severe frosts - this is not a complete list of tasks that many have to face during the cold season. And heat guns are able to cope with these and many other tasks with maximum efficiency.

Gas, electric or diesel?

Electric heat guns are lighter, safer, easier to maintain and operate. Among them there are models of very high power, capable of heating not just a garage but a gym. So why might you need a gas gun?

The fact is that a powerful electric gun cannot be connected to a regular outlet - three-phase power is required. A household single-phase electrical network is capable of “pulling” a maximum of 5 kW of power - and this is in best case scenario. If the wiring is old, then it is not recommended to load it with more than 3 kW.

A small room, of course, can be heated with a three-kilowatt heat gun, if the walls have good thermal insulation - and even then it may take a couple of hours. And if you need to warm up the room quickly, then in the absence of three-phase electricity there are practically no other options except a gas gun.

And the availability of three-phase electricity does not always determine the choice - gas guns are cheaper and more economical than electric guns of the same power, and the maximum power and performance of gas and diesel guns is higher.

True, gas guns also have disadvantages:
- higher fire hazard; careless handling may result in a gas explosion;
- a gas gun burns oxygen in the room and fills it with combustion products.
The last drawback means that the gas gun cannot be turned on for a long time in rooms where there are people. To heat a living space, you can use an indirectly heated diesel gun - its combustion products are discharged into the chimney. But they are very expensive, so gas guns
quite often used in conjunction with electric or fan heaters: a gas gun is started to initially warm up the room, and electricity is used to maintain the temperature.

Characteristics of gas heat guns.

Maximum heating power– the main characteristic of a heat gun, which determines how much heat it can generate and, accordingly, how much room it can heat. What should the power of the gun be?

You often come across a formula for calculating the power of a gun based on the volume of a heated room:

where V is the volume of the heated room, ΔT is the temperature difference between the current temperature outside the room and the required temperature inside and K is the thermal conductivity coefficient, depending on the material of the building walls.

For electric guns, constantly maintaining a certain temperature in the room, the formula is suitable. But gas ones are practically not used for this - if it works for a long time, there will simply be no oxygen left for breathing in the room.

Gas guns are used to quickly warm up rooms or rooms with free flow of fresh air and to create local heated zones in unheated rooms. Therefore, the above formula is not suitable here, and in general, it is problematic to perform an accurate calculation for such operating conditions.

For a rough estimate, you can use the table:

If the room has high (above 3 m) ceilings, unglazed or open windows and doors, power requirements may increase. In rooms with free air outlet from above (unglazed windows near the ceiling, an unfinished building without a roof, etc.), it will be generally impossible to warm up all the air; only the creation of a local warm zone in close proximity to the gun is possible.

Performance warm air shows how much air will pass through the gun in a certain period of time. It should be understood that productivity is weakly related to the rate of heating of the room or its volume. Without appropriate power, high performance will not give any effect - the heat from the burner will be removed too quickly and the air leaving the gun will be barely warm.

Typically, the performance of the gun is selected in such a way as to ensure effective heat removal and avoid the danger of burns from hot air at the exit of the gun.

For gas guns, however, it makes sense to pay attention to this parameter - the higher the performance of the gun with the same nozzle diameter, the more powerful the output jet will be and the longer the local heating zone will be. If it is impossible or impractical to heat the entire room, it makes sense to use a high-performance gun.

Fuel used. Most gas guns run on propane or butane. A butane gun will work without problems on both propane and a propane-butane mixture.

What's the best way to refuel? Specific heat The combustion of these gases is approximately the same (1 kg of butane will give the same heat as 1 kg of propane). But butane will burn a little faster, which will give about a 10% increase in power when changing from propane to butane (or a 10% decrease when changing back). Unfortunately, at most gas stations the tank can only be filled with propane or a propane-butane mixture; There are few places where you can fill a cylinder with pure butane.

On the other hand, butane has a boiling point of only -0.5ºС (versus -42 for propane); at subzero temperatures, butane becomes liquid and the pressure in the cylinder with it drops to insufficient for working with a gas gun. Taking into account the fact that it is extremely unsafe to keep a gas cylinder in an intense heating zone, in cold weather it is more advisable to use propane or propane-butane with a high propane content (“winter” propane-butane mixture).

Guns powered by natural gas (methane) are extremely rare and usually among powerful stationary installations. Methane cannot be used in a gun designed to operate on propane-butane, and vice versa.

Power consumption. Despite the fact that heating is produced by burning gas, the gun needs electricity to operate the fan and electronics. If the place where the gun operates is electrified, then you can ignore this parameter - even the most productive gun does not consume more than 300 W.

But if the gun is intended to be used for autonomous operation (powered by a battery through an inverter), it is better to choose a model with low power consumption.

The battery life of a gun can be calculated using the formula

where P is the power consumption of the gun, C is the battery capacity in Ah, U is the operating voltage of the battery.

So, from a car battery with a capacity of 60 Ah, a gun consuming 30 W will work continuously for 0.9 x 720 / 30 = 21.6 hours.

Ignition system.
In manually ignited guns, the torch is ignited using a match or other fire source. Inconvenient, but reliable.

Guns with piezo ignition use a piezoelectric element that converts the mechanical force of pressing a button into electricity (spark).

With pulse ignition, the gun uses electricity from the mains to create a spark. Such ignition can be initiated either manually (by pressing a button) or automatically (when the gas supply is opened).

Piezo and pulse ignition are undoubtedly more convenient than manual ignition, but it should be noted that both of these methods “do not like” moisture, dirt and dust. However, in the absence of a spark
The cannon can most often be ignited manually.

Temperature adjustment. Since household heat guns are for constant maintenance room temperatures are poorly suited; temperature adjustment in most cases only means smooth power adjustment using a valve.

Some models equipped with a thermostat and automatic ignition can turn off when the set temperature is reached, and automatically turn on again when it cools down. But due to the fact that the thermostat is located close to the gun itself (usually at its base), the accuracy of temperature control is low.

Fuel consumption gas gun depends only on power and is approximately 0.07 kg/h per 1 kW of power. When calculating heating costs, keep in mind that at gas stations the price is given per liter of liquefied gas, and the consumption of guns is measured in kg.
