Table made from plastic bottles. Furniture made from plastic bottles: DIY design

This article contains a master class on furniture from plastic bottles with your own hands, which will help you even make original and functional furniture. However, for such furniture it is important to collect a lot of plastic bottles, so there is no need to throw anything away. Everything is useful for furniture crafts.

Plastic chair

The first thing you can consider and understand in the basics of creating furniture is a chair similar to the one in this photo:

Here is the assembly diagram for such a chair. This scheme is universal:

You need to cut the bottle into 2 halves. The top half needs to be inserted into the bottom half. At the next stage, you need to insert the whole bottle there and cover it bottom from another bottle. Thus, you should get several strong modules. Next you need to secure 4 modules with adhesive tape.

In order to make the armrests and back of the chair, you need to extend similar modules to the required length and secure them with tape or adhesive tape.

The chair is ready!

Original sofa

Using the same principle and exactly the same pattern, you can make a sofa. The furniture is easy to carry, it is light and compact, perfect for the garden.

A sofa will require more bottles than a chair, but the operation is identical. Just like for the chair, small 4 bottles need to be assembled into modules large sizes.

Increase modules to required sizes, then cover the finished sofa with padding polyester and sew a cover from a beautiful fabric.

Picnic table

How to make one like this original table? The principle of working on the product is quite simple. Glue the bottles to any surface, for example, a tray upside down. These will be the legs of the table, and the tray will be the surface.

To decorate the table, the product can be painted with acrylic paints, or various objects, such as old photos or postcards, can be glued to the tabletop. You can also use scraps of fabric for decoration.

If you are planning a large table, then the tabletop should be made of durable materials, for example, from plywood, old wood, or a tabletop from an old table would be a good option for the top of a walking table. To give the table strength, you need to use more bottles, and you should also design the tabletop in the shape of a triangle, square, or circle. On the back of the table, make markings with a simple pencil and, using tools, connect the bottles and glue them with lids to the back of the table.

To lengthen and strengthen the table legs, you need to glue the bottles in a certain way. The bottom of the bottles from the first row should be in contact with the bottom of the bottles from the second row. You need special glue for plastic or universal glue.

Here is the finished table:

Hanging shelves for the garden

The shelves are very convenient and can accommodate a lot of small items. Convenient and compact. Shelf design and shape can be any.

At the first stage of work, cut off the neck of the bottle and make a smear 2 times acrylic paint. However, before painting furniture crafts, dip the blanks in sand.

After the blanks have dried, the shelves can be hung on the wall.

Shelves can be mounted in another way. Secure the bottles to the plywood, and only then secure the shelves to the wall with tools. Before hanging the structure on the wall, you need to make cuts in the shape of a cross on the wallpaper and then drill a hole for the structure.

At the end of the work you should get bright shelves, like in the picture.

Video on how to make comfortable furniture from plastic:

In modern times, many handicrafts have appeared who try to make furniture and interior items from old and unnecessary things. The scope for imagination in this area is enormous, so no one tries to limit themselves. Many people wonder how to make a sofa from bottles, because there is a great abundance of this raw material, and it is not very profitable to simply dispose of it.

But people’s imagination is very developed and now some are already installing plastic sofas in their apartments. This is because it is very simple to make, you just need to be patient and have a large number of bottles of different denominations, but of the same shape.

If you do simple furniture and you are not going to cover it and soften it with foam rubber, then you can cope with this task in just a few hours. To do this you will need the following equipment:

  • sharp and large scissors;
  • regular and double-sided tape;
  • about five hundred bottles with a denomination of two liters and four hundred with a denomination of one liter;
  • sharp knife.

It is worth noting that the sofas made are very durable. If they are designed for two people, then they will withstand without problems, even if the person sitting has a lot of weight. The parts of the sofa themselves are very durable, and as a result can last much longer than standard furniture.

Assembly technology

You can even assemble a complete model alone. First, you should prepare the bottles, wash them, remove excess labels, stickers and other interfering elements. Then, you need to assemble one strong block from three bottles and secure it with tape.

  1. Cut off the neck of the bottle.
  2. We insert it into the lower part, with the plug facing down.
  3. Insert another, whole bottle into the resulting vase.
  4. Cover its neck with the cut-off lower part from the third bottle.

Overall, you get a fairly strong block, which in addition needs to be secured with tape. To make it more convenient to fold the selected model, you need to fasten four bars together. This must be done carefully, so that the bottles do not move, or rather do not move at all, in the assembled pack.

Then you can use your imagination. All the instructions offered on the Internet are different, so you can come up with your own version of a convenient and homemade sofa. The main thing is to pay attention to proper gluing, so that after some time the parts do not begin to move apart, ruining the appearance of the furniture.

DIY furniture made from plastic bottles is fashionable, environmentally important, and modern. Billions have been spent developing and marketing plastic bottles designed to carry liquids. But after the container is empty, it is perceived as something superfluous, and people rush to throw it away. This is wasteful! Moreover, plastic and glass bottles, if they are thrown out, they clog environment for thousands of years to come, they never completely decompose, causing a lot of harm to nature. Our descendants, when excavating, will probably call the 21st century: “The Age of Plastic Bottles.” One of best options don't pollute your city - reuse plastic in creative projects.

Ideas 2016

The problem that our civilization faces is already being successfully solved by designers. In 2016, in the UK, graduates of the Royal College of Art developed eclectic furniture made from plastic bottles, with so-called “plastic joints”. Today students give a master class to everyone. Designers used construction materials to work with plastic " heat guns", which heat up to 300 degrees Celsius. Thus, plastic transforms individual wooden parts, holding them tightly together.

Strength plastic connections depends on the shape of the wooden objects, as well as the shape of the grooves in the wood. Deeper protrusions allow a stronger grip on the plastic to be formed; individual parts of the structure are tightly soldered. In this way you can, for example, repair old furniture or create an original, completely new one. “There is something satisfying, magical in this process,” says one of the students, demonstrating a master class. “Everyone encounters plastic bottles, can learn about a new way to use them, it inspires people to try to do something themselves.”

Canadian designer Aurora Robson has been creating her amazing sculptures from trash, including furniture from plastic bottles, for 20 years. During this time, the artist seems to have gone through creative metamorphoses - each of her works is more complex and amazing than the previous one. The masterpiece created by Aurora is made from 20,000 plastic bottles. This is an incredibly delicate work of interior art.

The whole world is at your feet!

creative shelves

Furniture made from plastic bottles is a step into the future. You can make anything out of plastic, approaching the production of new things as if you were holding a cube from a children's construction set in your hands.

Everyone can come up with something new themselves. Sometimes it is very difficult to solve storage problems in the house, but using plastic products, you can quickly create convenient containers for storing small items.

Transparent and bright containers can be easily woven by cutting bottle plastic into strips 2-5 cm wide.

A small shelf for storing children's things can be made from plastic bottles by simply cutting them off.

Royal sofa

The creation of sofas began in ancient Egypt, later these pieces of furniture were created for the royal family and other social elites. Frame modern sofas most often made of wood, some options include steel, but you can make a sofa using plastic bottles. And it will look no worse than Egyptian if decorated with beautiful fabrics! The master class on making this furniture is very simple and accessible to everyone.

  • You will need quite a lot of bottles to make a sofa. It is important to collect products of the same size.
  • Before you start, you need to prepare several rolls of tape, a sharp knife and scissors.
  • Plastic is a soft material, it needs to be strengthened. Therefore, the products are cut in a special way, one part is inserted into the other and glued with tape. Then the second part is inserted there.
  • So you need to make 4 bottle “bricks”.
  • After this, the “bricks” can already be connected to each other and the production of new ones can begin.
  • If the sofa is made of plastic 2 liter bottles, then with a bottle diameter of 10 cm, for a sofa 2 m long, you will need 20 “bricks” in length. You can arrange 4-6 bundles of 4 “bricks” along the width.
  • The back and handrails are made from one row of bottles.
  • After the “skeleton” of the sofa is made, prepare padding polyester or foam rubber, and then sew a cover.

If the sofa cover is sewn with high quality, then no one will guess that the furniture is made from ordinary and unnecessary bottles.

Another advantage of such furniture is that it is very light and easy to move. You can make chairs in the same way. A master class on making chairs is very similar to any Master Class on the sofas.

Soft pouf

Before creating a sofa or armchairs, you should try to make the simplest item upholstered furniture- poof. It will take a lot less materials. To do this you will need to prepare:

  • plastic bottles,
  • cardboard,
  • sticky tape,
  • textile,
  • yarn,
  • knitting needles,
  • ruler,
  • scissors,
  • sewing machine

To make the base for the ottoman, cut out circles of cardboard for the bottom and top. Plastic bottles are washed and dried well. They are then carefully secured with adhesive tape. The ottoman is wrapped and covered with foam rubber or synthetic padding. Then they sew a beautiful cover from fabric or knit wool. However, a pouf cover can be woven using plastic cut into thin strips.

"Marine" table

Plastic bottles can also become beautiful furniture legs.

To make a chic coffee table you will need to prepare:

A master class on making such a table is no more difficult than any other. Each leg is made from two bottles. One bottle is cut and used to lengthen the second. For strength and stability, sand is poured into the resulting form. The tray is covered with pebbles and painted spray paint. After this, the legs are glued to the prepared tabletop.

A plastic bottle is an easily accessible and inexpensive material. In addition to its direct purpose, there are many other useful ideas. Plastic has long been loved by craftsmen to construct and decorate with their own hands. Summer residents especially like furniture made from this material.

Large accumulations of plastic bottles are an environmental disaster. What if you take a large amount of PET and put it to work? We add sleight of hand, tape, and imagination and in the end we get very useful structures, such as a stool or a cascading flowerbed of containers.

How to create a plastic “masterpiece”?

IN in capable hands plastic bottles get a second life, becoming useful. And to build something truly interesting, you need to acquire the following:

  • an interesting idea;
  • a ready-made sample of what was planned;
  • stock up on the required amount of “building material”;
  • find step-by-step instructions.

Shelf for beginners

For a novice craftsman, it is best to start your work with something simple, for example, by creating a shelf from plastic bottles. They will be very useful in the country and even at home. They are attached to the wall, take up minimal space, and at the same time serve as a great stand for various objects.

Work progress for creating a PET shelf:

  • select the shelf shape, height and width;
  • The necks are removed from the bottles; they will not be needed to create this product;
  • the finished structure is coated with acrylic paint for beauty;
  • The completed and completely dried shelf is attached to the wall with self-tapping screws.

You can also add plywood elements to the structure; with its help, the shelf will become much stronger and more reliable.

PET furniture

Furniture made from plastic containers, always looks unusual, and most importantly, it is very cheap.

To create a sofa and armchairs, a very large number of containers of the same size are required. Plastic furniture often amazes with its lightness, convenience and interesting design idea. There is nothing complicated in assembling it, you just need to do it in sections: first the seat, then the back and armrests. It is most convenient to collect it from bottles of the same size and color, for example, kvass or lemonade.

Assembly is very simple - layers of bottles are wrapped with tape. To make the furniture soft, just like “real” furniture, a little air is released from each container and then screwed tightly.

The design of furniture and its purpose is a matter of taste. It all depends on the number of bottles, their color and size. For example, we connected 8 identical containers with tape - and we got a wonderful ottoman, now we just need to decide on its appearance. For creating soft seat You can use a piece of foam rubber or a soft lining. The pouf's cover is made according to its size; a zipper can be sewn into the sides for easy putting on.

To build a useful mini-table for a laptop, you only need to make 4 stands from PET, and any piece of plywood will play the role of a tabletop.

To create a sofa you will need much more material, time, and, most importantly, patience.

You can also make a simple stool from plastic bottles. It is done in 4 stages:

  1. Prepare 10 pieces of 2-liter containers filled with sand or water. This is necessary for the strength of the structure.
  2. Wrap them with wide tape.
  3. Make separate sections - legs. Then fix them.
  4. Screw or nail a piece of plywood to the bottle caps, which will act as a seat. That's it, the stool is ready!

Pleasant trifles

Decorate country cottage area or a veranda with crafts made from bottles - always beautiful and original. Beautiful roses and chrysanthemums, daisies can be included in a huge bouquet, which will be placed in a vase made of the same material. And if you add a little more imagination and wrap the flowers with diode tape, you will be able to recreate an unusual night light.

In big fun company There are never any extra chairs. Therefore, hospitable hosts often think about how to make new inexpensive sofas, poufs, stools or chairs.

The idea of recycling plastic bottles is useful from any point of view. Firstly, plastic is a durable material that takes several hundred years to decompose and therefore pollutes the environment. And secondly, it is lightweight, durable, ideal for creating furniture frames of almost any size and shape. There is a place for furniture made from plastic raw materials in the country house and on a large loggia, on the beach or playground.

To learn how to create such products, you only need to understand main idea– how to turn a container with a lid into a hard and elastic material. Each craftsman offers his own original way:

  • For example, you can leave open bottles in the cold overnight, and in the morning close the containers with lids and place them in a warm place. After such thermal hardening, the material becomes more durable, and products made from it retain this property for a long time.
  • In another case, it is recommended to use whole blocks in the work. To do this, one bottle is tightly closed with a lid. For the other, approximately a third or a quarter is cut off at the top. The remaining bottom one is put on the first container from the side of the lid. The location of the cut is wrapped with tape. Thus, the material will not only be strong, but will acquire good shock-absorbing properties.

Comfortable seat made of plastic raw materials

Do not throw away plastic containers from sweet water, beer, other drinks. Rinse them thoroughly and store them in the pantry or garage. We recommend making a chair from plastic bottles with your own hands.

To make it you will need

  • from 200 to 250 empty two-liter containers, preferably of the same shape;
  • wide tape;
  • stationery knife or scissors.

Description of work

  1. In the design we will use both whole bottles (A) and cut bottles (B, C, D, E). We will need the cut parts to make strong building blocks. Please take a look at the image below.
  2. Now you should place part C in bowl B.
  1. Insert the closed whole bottle A with the bottom part into the part from B and C
  1. Now place the lower part of the bottle D onto the structure from the lid side. We received a sample block, copies of which will be used to make the seat of our chair. A total of 16 such elements should be made.

  1. Connect, tightly wrapping with tape, 2 such parts.

Attention! When forming large and small blocks, place the elements on a hard, flat surface. Fasten the parts tightly. Then your structure will be stable and strong.

  1. Next, connect two by two.
  2. Then four and four.
  3. The entire seat is a block of 16 bottles.
  4. Proceed to form the back from the remaining material. Place the three pieces C+B inside each other on a block similar to those used for the seat. You will get a tall tube-shaped part. You will need two of them in total.
  1. Now make 2 taller pieces. They will become the outermost elements of the back of the chair.
  2. Install in one plane: two low parts in the middle, high ones on the sides. To ensure the safety of the backrest, secure the block with tape at three levels.
  3. Connect the back and seat together. Secure the pieces together with three strips of duct tape.

The chair is ready. You can use the product in this form or sew a soft fabric cover with a plywood base and thick foam rubber on it. seat. And then no one will guess that you made this soft and beautiful chair yourself.

Ottoman made from plastic bottles

A pouf is the simplest piece of furniture that can be quickly made from plastic containers. It can be large or small, square or round - it all depends on how to connect the containers and how many of them to use. A good, stable pouf can easily be turned into a table or footstool. A little imagination and creativity will make your pouf a unique and attractive touch in the interior.

Materials and tools

For a medium sized pouf you will need
