Probably everyone who wanted to shoot a video in their workshop or somewhere else was thinking about how to mount the camera most successfully. At one time I tried to build some bulky structures to install the camera, but then I decided that I needed to make something more convenient, that would not take up much space, and, if necessary, simply remove it until the next filming. In this article, I'll show you how I made a universal camera holder that helped me with my DIY videos.

To assemble the holder with your own hands you will need:
* Rear door shock absorber from VAZ 2112
* Camera head with 1/4" thread
* M6 cogs
* Parquet flooring
* Metal plates or hangers
* Electric drill
* Metal scissors
* Small screws
* Wings with M4 thread
* Pair of M4 screws
* Epoxy adhesive
* Hacksaw for metal
* Rubber

That's all you need for assembly, you can start the process itself.

Step one.
The first thing you need to do is fix the head for the camera on the parquet. To do this, I drilled three holes with a drill slightly smaller than the diameter of the M6 screw and screwed three screws into them. These screws hold it quite firmly, so you don’t have to worry about the camera falling while shooting.

Step two.
To change the tilt of the camera when shooting, you need to saw off the parquet as shown in the photo and cut a second section of the same length.

The second section with the first will be attached through a suspension in which holes have already been made in advance. I screwed them on with two screws on each side, having previously drilled small holes in that place so that the wood would not burst.

Then I bent the extra part of the hangers, which also increased the strength, since a certain stiffening rib appeared.

Step three.
On the part where the head for attaching the camera is installed on both sides, I drilled holes strictly in the middle, and then glued them into them epoxy resin studs that I made from M4 screws by simply sawing off the head.

The planks will be fixed relative to each other using the wings that are screwed onto the glued pins.

The holes that were previously on the hangers did not match slightly in diameter, so I decided to drill them in a slightly different place.

For better clamping, I placed a small washer under each of the wings.
Step four.
Now it’s time to lengthen the structure; my choice fell on the rear door shock absorber from a VAZ 2112, since it had been lying idle for a long time.

If you do not have such a shock absorber, then you can lengthen the holder, for example, using a telescopic fishing rod or a flat board. To secure the shock absorber with the movable part of the holder, I cut out a mount from parquet, which repeated the shape of the standard shock absorber mount.

Then I drilled a couple of holes along the edges and sawed off the excess part of the parquet.

In the counter part I also drilled two holes for screws. I secured the shock absorber with two long screws, placing rubber in advance to prevent rotation at the mounting location.

The result is a selfie stick.

Step five.
In order to install the holder, you need to make another mount that can be screwed to a table or shelf. From the same suspension I cut out a section that should ultimately fit tightly to the shock absorber tube, it turned out like this.

When a crib for a newborn has already been purchased, all that remains is to arrange it. Many people will think that this is quite easy to do. Yes, it's not difficult. But you should remember that everything needs to be done thoughtfully. After all, you need your child to not only sleep here, but also be protected from:

room dust;
drafts;
mosquitoes and flying insects;
direct sunlight;
other irritants.

To do this, attach a canopy to the crib. It's made from lightweight material and nets that protect babies while allowing enough space into the crib fresh air. Despite the fact that many parents are in no hurry to buy this device, it is still quite useful.

Having decided on the design and quality of the product, parents will have to figure out how to attach the canopy to the crib. This is a more difficult task. But you can also cope with it, guided by well-written instructions.

The mobile canopy holder is the most popular. This is explained by the fact that it is attached directly to the crib. Another plus of this model is its lightness. It weighs little and is easy to attach. True, such a holder also has disadvantages. First of all, this is mobility. If you constantly cling to such a holder, then you can completely knock it over. A grown-up child will definitely want to pull it towards himself. This does not pose any particular danger, but is still undesirable.

Also, mobile holders do not serve a decorative function. They do not decorate anything, as they are completely hidden under the canopy.

Stationary holders are attached to the ceiling or wall. If such a device is dismantled in order to attach it in another place, then traces will remain behind it. They will be clearly visible, so you will have to decorate this place with something. You can also not rearrange the room until the baby grows up and requires changes.

The advantages of stationary holders are that they are more reliable. They can be firmly secured. Based on them, you can make real decorations in the form of a castle or ship out of a canopy. The shape of the product will hold perfectly. A stationary holder will be very difficult to swing, even if the baby decides to do it.

The third type of canopy holder is one that attaches around the perimeter of the crib. It can be either mobile or stationary. This holder has the form of four slats, which are fixed to the railing of the crib or to the ceiling, respectively.

Usually fastening it's already underway included in the product set. But sometimes you need to purchase products separately. You can also purchase a convenient holder additionally, even if one was already included in the set. The most important thing is that you and your child are happy with everything.

How to hang a canopy on a crib: where exactly to hang it

If we are talking about a stationary mount, then this issue is not relevant. This type of mount attaches to the top of the crib. Thus, the fabric hangs down and covers absolutely the entire crib. It looks very beautiful and also has a practical protective effect. You can also place the product around the perimeter above the crib.

But the mobile holder can be attached in different ways. It can be done:

from the side of the head;
from the side of the wide bed rail;
along the perimeter.

Each location has its advantages and disadvantages. If you hang a canopy at the baby's head, the material will not cover the entire crib. There simply isn’t enough for this. At the same time, sufficient air and light will reach the child. This is, of course, a plus.

If you attach the holder to the side of the wide railing of the crib, you will get more extensive coverage. The canopy will be able to protect the child from many irritants, as it will cover him from all sides.

If you attach the holders around the perimeter, you can get a simply gorgeous result. The canopy will cover the crib well, and at the same time it will look lush and even somewhat luxurious. True, there is a downside to securing the product this way. In this case, too many supporting elements will be mounted on the crib. As the child grows up, he will want to touch it all and may simply collapse it.

How to put a canopy on a crib with a stationary mount

Attaching a permanent mount is not difficult. You need something like curtain rods. Such mounts can be sold as a set with a canopy. If it wasn't there, you can use a profile instead. Attach it to the ceiling using the appropriate method. After this, all that remains is to hang the canopy and then arrange it beautifully.

You can attach a short cornice to the ceiling. There is also an option to attach four slats around the perimeter, which will hold the fabric. Another way is to use a hook instead of a holder. It should not be small so that the fabric adheres well to it. A canopy attached to a hook will not be very easy to adjust. Most convenient option- this is when the fabric is held on curtain rods attached around the perimeter of the crib. Also often a metal circle is attached to the ceiling small size. The fabric is then hung over it.

Before attaching any of these structures to the ceiling, mark required area. This way you will be sure to hang the canopy evenly and exactly where it will look best.

Next, you should thread the loop antennae into the drawstrings on the canopy. If you do this correctly, the fabric will begin to fall in beautiful folds. This fastening system is suitable if the loop has detachable ends. Sometimes it is made in the form of a circle. In this case, the fabric is secured with ribbons or Velcro. If they are not there, you can sew them on. You can also simply stitch the fabric and thus secure it.

You can do it differently. If your holder ring is closed, it needs to be opened. After this, you put the fabric on his antennae and close them again. This way you get a solid ring on which the canopy is securely attached.

After these manipulations, the resulting structure should be attached to the holder, which is already firmly installed on the crib.

Carefully straighten the fabric so that it performs its functions and does not interfere with your positioning of the child.
