A mirror is a must-have item home interior, almost no room can do without it. In addition to the need to see our reflection in the mirror every day, we actively use mirrors to decorate and create a certain style.

IN lately the mirror is actively used as a decorative item; of varied, sometimes bizarre, shapes or framed in an original frame, it brings an element of exclusivity to the interior and emphasizes the creative character of its owners.

You can make a unique thing out of a simple mirror with your own hands, using your imagination and bringing your own unique ideas to life.

As an example, we offer three options for decorating a mirror to convince you how amazingly simple and interesting it is to decorate a mirror, what an exciting creative process it is, and what a magnificent result it turns out.

Option one: cereal

Yes, don’t be surprised, it’s cereals – rice, millet, pearl barley, buckwheat. The main thing is that it is coarse-grained; the grains of the cereal should ultimately resemble beads.

We stick masking tape along the outer edge of the mirror, forming a frame. The next inner layer of the frame is double-sided tape, and again masking tape. The result is a triple frame. We place the cereal on double-sided tape, level it with our hands, press it tightly to the tape, trying to get a frame of uniform thickness, which we cover with gold spray. We remove the masking tape and get a three-dimensional frame, as if made of identical gold beads. You can glue some beads or bugles along the outer and inner edges of the resulting frame; in color they should be combined with gold, complementing or shading it. A glamorous mirror is ready to decorate your interior.

Option two: dry twigs

You can pick up dry twigs of different sizes under the trees in your yard. Glue the mirror onto a thin sheet of plywood using “liquid nails.” The size of the plywood should be larger than the mirror; the result is a plywood frame on which to lay out and glue tree branches. Prime the branches and paint them with plain paint. You can glue dried flowers, an artificial butterfly or dragonfly between the branches. Another exclusive, made by yourself, will delight you with its simplicity and originality.

Option three: lace

Well, it's very simple. Any lace napkins, you can even use paper napkin from under the cake. Place the napkin on the mirror, secure it and cover it with “persistent frost” aerosol. If you want to get only a pattern of thin lace, then you need to cover the outer edges of the napkin with paper, otherwise you will unwittingly cover part of the mirror around the napkin with the aerosol. In this case, the mirror will have a frosty frame with a lace pattern along the inner edge - also very beautiful.

The mirror and mirrored surfaces of cabinets in the hallway can be beautifully decorated with “frosty patterns” made from toothpaste or acrylic paint This is done simply: a stencil is fixed on the glass, the contours of which will remain empty: an openwork snowflake, trees or animals cut out of paper, etc. On top of this stencil is applied to the glass liquid paint or toothpaste solution. For the New Year, everything should be beautifully decorated in a mysterious way. On this special holiday, even glass and mirrors are covered with unusual frosty patterns. This description tells you how to decorate a window and mirror for the New Year with your own hands, imitating frost and snowflakes.

To imitate a frosty pattern you will need:

- white toothpaste,
- sponge,
- water,
- thick paper,
- scissors.

At the first stage, you need to create snowflakes from white thick paper, keep in mind that napkins are not suitable at all, because they are thin and will quickly deteriorate from water. Fold the paper sheet several times as in the photo.

Then trim the bottom so that the snowflake has smooth edges. You can cut teeth or waves on the bottom of the sheet, then the snowflake will turn out openwork and more beautiful.

Then, on the sides of the future snowflake, cut out various small elements– circles, curls, even hearts or stars will do. Try to depict more elements, because then the snow product will turn out to be more interesting.

Unfold the sheet, which will turn into a snowflake. Make enough snowflakes to be evenly distributed on your glass surface.

Now wet the snowflake with water, making sure that only the underside gets wet.

Immediately attach the snowflake to the glass and smooth it out.

Immediately, without waiting for the water to dry and the edges of the snowflakes to rise from the surface of the mirrors, wet the sponge with water and squeeze it onto it. toothpaste, only white.

Apply white foam to the glass and over the snowflakes, carefully drawing the pattern.

The paste should cover the entire mirror evenly.

After a few minutes you can remove the snowflakes.

In places where there is a large area of frost, you can draw streaks or hearts. They are created using a wet rag, as if you were wiping off paste.
