Solenoid valve CEME solenoid valves

Solenoid valves occupy a significant part of the company's product range. This Italian company produces more than 20 series of solenoid shut-off valves designed to control the flow of transported media of various types. state of aggregation and varying degrees of aggressiveness.

Areas of application

Shut-off valves from this manufacturer can be installed in the following systems for transporting liquid and gaseous media:

  • Water and steam supply lines. Moreover, for drinking water, special normally closed or open solenoid valves with DVGW type seal, and for steam - with EPDM type seal. Such fittings are suitable for an iron, a washing machine, and a vacuum cleaner operating from a household electrical outlet (220 volts).
  • Oil product supply lines. However, diesel fuel or light oil requires a special FPM seal. It protects normally open or closed valves from leaks of a chemically active medium that corrodes water seals from the very first hour of operation. Therefore, diesel solenoid valves are included in a special series.
  • Gas supply lines. Only for inert gases can you use almost any normally closed or open solenoid valves, for example, suitable for water (can be technical). And for flammable media - propane and so on - you need special gas fittings certified according to the CEE 90/396 standard. A standard water or steam valve is not useful here. Moreover, for gas fuel you also need a special coil operating under a voltage of 12 volts or 24 volts. This voltage eliminates sparking.
  • Coolant supply lines. In this case, you need normally open or open solenoid valves with an insert suitable for low temperature liquids or gases of any type except ammonia. Moreover, the solenoid of such a valve should work even at 50 degrees below zero. Although for air conditioner or household refrigerators You can use reinforcement with less frost resistance.

Where to buy solenoid valves?

In Russia, you can buy SEME solenoid valves only from resellers or official representative offices of this brand.

Resellers offer a limited range, without subsequent purchase support. Moreover, their product may turn out to be a Chinese counterfeit. original product from Italy. In this case, it no longer matters how much the product costs - its operation will cost the buyer much more than the initial expenses.

Official SEME dealers, such as our online store website, do not dump “to spite” competitors, but offer more significant ones than low prices, advantages.

What are the advantages of an online store website?

  • Firstly, the site is the official distributor of Ceme. That's why we sell only original products.
  • Secondly, you can even buy specialized types of fittings in our store. The store website offers a selection of products comparable to the official website, delivered directly from Italy.
  • Thirdly, the site offers organized delivery of goods throughout Moscow and throughout Russia. In addition, delivery to order to Belarus and Kazakhstan is also possible.

We use solenoid valves to close or open the water. I never talked about these valves, because I thought that everything was already clear to everyone. But some time ago I was faced with the fact that this valve needed to be serviced and, taking this opportunity, I decided to make a short post about them.

What is the difference between a solenoid valve and a faucet with an electric drive and where is it better to install it? And in general, why are they needed? And they are needed in order to sharply (quickly) open or close the flow of water or other liquid. Some valves can only work with water, some can work with air and water. The fact that the valve works quickly is both good and bad. This is good where you need to dose something at low pressures: watering plants, an area, clean water after a filter. But it’s bad where the water flow speed is high and due to its sudden opening/closing, severe water hammer can occur.

That is, the place for such a valve is after the pressure reducers on the outgoing water lines. But there is no need to install it as the main inlet valve so that it shuts off all the water in the apartment when the leakage protection is activated. Because the valve is less reliable than a faucet with an electric drive and will also cause water hammer. An electric faucet will close slowly and will remove all sorts of debris and rust. But the same small weed can interfere with the operation of the valve, and this will be bad.

Just such a case happened to me and, using it, I decided to see what was inside the solenoid valve. It turned out to be very easy to disassemble and maintain.

The most popular and easily purchased valves among people are CEME valves. They are usually sold by the store http://forwater.ru/shop/125/180/, where everyone buys them. These valves can be normally closed (this means that until current is applied, the valve is closed) and normally open (when current is applied, the valve will close). We will be interested in normally closed valves, because we want our entire system not to consume electricity until we need to open the water, and when it fails, everything closes so that water does not flow anywhere in vain.

In early models of these valves, the solenoid coil was not designed to big time work. After about an hour of operation, if water did not flow through the valve and did not cool it, the coil would become very hot and I was afraid to forget to turn off the light in the toilet (we are talking about an apartment in Moscow, where I did this). Now (I bought the valve a year ago) this glitch has been corrected and the coil almost does not heat up at all. Most likely, the manufacturer increased the number of turns of wire in the coil to reduce the current. This guess is confirmed by the fact that the new coil is one and a half times larger in size than the old one. Once I went to the country and forgot to turn off the light in the toilet for two days. The valve did not die and did not even get hot!

Where do I use these valves:

  • In a hygienic shower. Here the valve’s task is to block the weak flow of water to the shower head. This is what they do when hygienic shower assembled without a special mixer built into the wall, which is usually used to regulate the flow of water. Without a valve, the shower head will always be under water pressure, which is bad for it. And people came up with the idea of installing a valve parallel to the toilet lighting. Therefore, when we turn off the light in the toilet, the valve cuts off the pressure from the shower head.
  • In the water supply to washing machine. In Moscow, it stands in the corner of the corridor, and previously water was supplied to it using a long flexible line. Since it was scary that someday this line would burst, the water was turned off with a tap. When I redid the plumbing, I replaced the liner with a pipe, and instead of a faucet I installed a valve. Next to the washing machine we have a very convenient unit: a socket and a switch. I wanted to do the laundry - I turned on the machine and immediately turned it off. I washed it and turned it off.
  • In dosing clean water after the filter. This is my mega cheat! If you want, I’ll go to Moscow one day, take some photos and tell you about the automation of my bathroom. The idea is as follows: I’m tired of forgetting that the kettle fills slowly from under the flow-through water filter. Sometimes you go away to answer a couple of lines in ICQ - and the water is already on the countertop and on the floor.
So I installed such a valve at the filter outlet and made a time relay with two buttons. Press one - and just enough water is poured to fill the kettle (selected according to time). Press the second one at any moment and the water closes. Convenient as hell!

So one time I had a glitch with this system. The water suddenly stopped closing by itself and began to drip in, and then flow in a thin stream. I thought and thought and decided to disassemble the valve of this unit. First, I removed the assembly itself (valve, John Guest fitting - this is the name for fittings for thin tubes through which pure water flows, and the control valve) and unscrewed the coil from the valve.

And then he took the key and disassembled the valve. This valve operates on a difference in water pressure. I didn’t fully understand how it works, but I got the gist of it. A small, puny electromagnet drives a piston, which opens or closes small holes in the membrane.

If the hole is closed by a piston, then water passes through other holes and presses on the membrane from above, pressing it tightly and closing the path to exit. And if the piston is opened, then water flows to the valve outlet, its pressure is compared with the pressure under the membrane and there it does not prevent water from flowing to the valve outlet. That is, with the help of a small frail hole we control a lot of pressure.

The valve opens very easily - you only need to unscrew four screws. Under the top cover there is a small spring, which creates initial pressure on the membrane and the membrane itself.

In my case, the damage to the valve was a small fragment of a cheap filter cartridge. Its body split into several pieces, and a fragment traveled through a thin tube to the valve and prevented the membrane from tightly closing the valve outlet:

I was afraid that the membrane had burst, that the valve had already broken and that they would have to be replaced. In fact, these valves are good (if used correctly) and after I washed the membrane and cleaned it, everything worked and continues to work. I have had these valves in service since the moment I started running my plumbing – since 2012.

Here's a little review. That is, there is no need to use these valves to shut off large volumes of water entering the apartment; they can be used to control water flows at end points according to the “open-close” scheme.

Solenoid valves

Application

The solenoid valve from the Italian company SEME is used in heat and water supply networks, in air conditioning and water treatment systems, in industry and various agricultural production.

Description

Solenoid valves are installed in pipelines, and depending on whether they are closed or open, they block or open the flow to the working medium when supply voltage is applied to the valve coil.
The signal control sensor for closing or opening the circuit can be various devices, for example, pressure switch, thermostat, flow switch, float switch and similar devices.

Installation and operation

In a pipeline, the valve can be installed in any position, but the working fluid must move in the same direction as indicated by the arrow on the body. The best and best option The location is installation with the coil facing up. It is very important that foreign particles are not allowed to enter the valve area. This may have a negative impact.
In addition, the manufacturers indicate that the solenoid valve should not be used for other purposes. For example, you cannot install it in structures that were not originally intended by the developers. It is also prohibited to use the valve in environments whose temperature is outside the permitted maximum and minimum. Because if it is used in an unintended temperature range, it may fail, resulting in an emergency.

Basic data

NBR is used as a material for the production of membranes. If another material is required, it can be manufactured from FPM-EPDM upon customer request.
The body is cast from brass. Internal parts are made of stainless steel.
The working environment can be a technical or drinking water, light oil products or air. As you can see, solenoid valves can be used almost anywhere.
The electrical connection is a three-pin P65 plug. It is included in the kit.
