Quite often this system is accused of being gluttonous in relation to the battery ( battery). Is this so, and what causes it? Let's figure it out.

What is a battery eater on any OS? More consumption goes to the display, radio modules (wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G), processor and memory. Another example. You took a brand new Android smartphone. The first week you use it, you install 5-10 programs. Everything is fine, the battery lasts great, and then the worst begins. You start collecting apps. From this moment on, you begin to look for sockets more and more often, because... Almost all applications you install will automatically check for updates, etc.

Well, now let every user of an Android OS device count how many third-party applications he has on his smart device. I think at least 50 pieces. How many do you use? Having such an “arsenal”, any smart phone on any OS will not live long. It is also important and distinguishes Android from the “long-lasting” iOS that you can, for example, play, and at that moment you will download an update, or some other -that file (yes, I’m talking about multitasking, but iOS has different priorities). And this also affects the battery discharge, because... The processor and RAM are fully utilized.

There's no need to panic. First you need to find out which application consumes the most. Just go to Settings, then Battery. You will see a list of active applications. The percentage will indicate how much energy they use.

In some cases, this menu does not work entirely correctly, that is, it does not register the activity of some applications. In this case, we recommend downloading one of the special utilities, for example Battery Doctor, which will help you find the most energy-consuming program.

What to do after?

It would seem that they found the application and deleted it, but in reality everything is not so simple. The program may turn out to be very necessary, and even without this there is no need to rush to remove it. First, try clearing the cache or, as a last resort, wiping the data in the hope that this will solve the problem. We can also advise you to force shutdown and start it again. All this is done in “Settings” - “Applications”.

If none of the applications showed themselves in any way from the worst side, then it is worth checking parameters such as screen brightness and auto-lock. It's no secret that the display is the main consumer of battery power, so you shouldn't leave it on pointlessly.

  • fine tuning for yourself
  • does not require additional resources
  • you know what you're doing
  • you have to go through the settings

I don’t insist that you have to do everything yourself, but for me personally, it’s better when I know what functions I’ve disabled or enabled to save battery; perhaps it will be more convenient for someone to use the application.

1. Display backlight brightness

So the first thing you can do to extend battery life is to lower the screen brightness. And if your phone has a light sensor, then turn on automatic adjustment. A bright display eats up the battery more than anything else.

2. Live wallpaper

The second step also concerns the display; to save battery, disable live wallpapers. Live wallpapers are certainly beautiful, but they consume a little energy, although they are useless on their own.

3. Wireless modules

The next thing you can do is disable wireless modules that you are not currently using - Mobile Internet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS

If the quality of the mobile network in your region is poor, then you can try disabling LTE and 3G networks.
