World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships results. Now “Made with us” on Telegram

Historically, at the Olympic Games there are three sports in which the Russian team always feels confident, and fans can always count on gold awards: wrestling, synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics - and in the last two, any result other than gold is generally considered unsuccessful. Last weekend, the gymnasts took part in the main pre-Olympic competition – the European Championships in Israel. We are figuring out whether everything is going according to plan for our athletes before the trip to Brazil, and whether their competitors are capable of causing them problems.

Mamun vs. Kudryavtseva

At the Olympic Games in London, the maximum program in individual competitions was completed by Daria Dmitrieva. The first became a two-time Olympic champion and immediately predictably completed sports career. The second received a silver medal at the Games, after which she was treated for a long time and eventually left the sport a year later. Both champions married hockey players and began to arrange family life and didn’t think about the Olympics in Rio at all. Moreover, in the new Olympic cycle the conveyor Irina Viner released two new figures of Russian and world gymnastics - Margarita Mamun and Yana Kudryavtseva.

It is obvious that these are the athletes who will represent Russia in Rio. For the last three years they have been fighting hard for leadership in the team. Margarita has won 14 world championship medals since 2013, seven of which are gold. Yana became world champion 13 times and silver medalist three more times. What is especially important is that Kudryavtseva won the world championships in the Olympic all-around three times in a row, and this allows us to talk about her as the main contender for the Olympic title. In Israel, it was important to understand whether everything was okay with Yana, who had recently undergone surgery, and whether Margarita would fight with her teammate for first place.

Fans Russian gymnasts they can rest easy before the 2016 Olympics. At the European Championships, our girls again showed their high class and took first and second places. It is curious that Mamun received more than 19 points in exercises with a ball, clubs and ribbon, but a score of 18,000 based on the results of exercises with a hoop left her in second place. performed much more consistently, the minimum score was 18.866, and therefore became the European champion. The only worthy competitor to our girls was the Ukrainian Anna Rizatdinova

, losing to Mamun by less than 0.4 points. Even Melitina Stanyuta, winner of 13 world championship medals from Belarus, lost to Margarita by almost two points. The rest of the rivals were even further away. But . “As I always say: there is no limit to perfection,” says Kudryavtseva. – There is always something to work on, and there were many mistakes here in Israel. There are still some shortcomings. This is only my fifth competition after the operation, and the girls have been competing for a long time. I’m just getting started, it’s hard so far, but I’m getting into shape. Now I don’t expect anything from the Olympics, because we have a tough selection, and we have to survive without injuries, at least.” The European Championship showed that Kudryavtseva is capable of defeating her opponents, even when not competing in better shape

. What then awaits us in Brazil?

First, fifth, eighth...

If the girls’ performances in the individual competition evoked extremely pleasant emotions, then the fans of the Russian team watched the group exercises with mixed, contradictory feelings. On the one hand, our team took first place in the main discipline - all-around, in which Olympic awards will also be awarded. On the other hand, in exercises with ribbons the girls at the European Championships only came fifth, and in exercises with clubs and hoops they came in eighth. “In the all-around, the girls squeezed everything they could out of themselves, and I bow to them for that. They haven't been in this lineup for long. There is a very young girl, born in 2000 - Ksenia Polyakova . And the fact that they won the all-around by a large margin is a big plus for me,” said the team’s senior coach Tatyana Sergaeva

. In addition, the mentor added that the program will not change before the Olympics, and the composition of the team may be adjusted in the remaining weeks. It turns out that at the competitions rhythmic gymnastics main rival Russian national team in– these are the nerves and strength of the Russian women themselves. If Wiener’s charges succeed, it is almost impossible to get them. But our athletes are still not made of iron: this was clearly shown by the last competition. In the Olympic discipline, they showed themselves superbly and left no chance for their competitors, but with the same program in individual exercises, on which, obviously, there was no obvious emphasis, the girls showed low results. They probably just didn’t have enough strength and emotions. At the main start of the four-year anniversary, of course, there will be more than enough of both – will this be the key to victory for our team?

We don’t yet know how things will turn out for the Russians Olympic Games in Brazil and what awaits our athletes after them. But it is already obvious that the team is raising a new generation of champions, athletes who are ready to proudly carry the Russian banner of victories further. At the continental championship in the junior competition, the Russians won six gold medals out of a possible six. Polina Shmatko became the best in exercises with a ball and clubs, Maria Sergeeva - with a hoop, Alina Ermolova - with a jump rope, and the whole trio - in the team competition. Rising stars from Belarus and Italy took second and third places.

MOSCOW, July 8. /TASS/. The post-Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Italy will be very difficult for Russian athletes. This opinion was expressed to journalists Olympic champion 2016 Margarita Mamun.

“Nobody knows how the post-Olympic World Championships will go, which will be very difficult,” she believes. “It’s up to our girls, everything will depend on themselves. Dina and Arina Averina are very strong girls, they have always been technical, they "Cirque du Soleil is doing. I can say the same about Alexandra Soldatova, who is having a very hard time now, because Yana Kudryavtseva and I were on the back-up."

This season, Mamun has not competed in any tournaments; the athlete continues to recover from injury. “The desire to return and compete [at the World Championships in Italy] was always there. When I was present at the Grand Prix in Moscow, there was an impulse to go out and perform, but, unfortunately, my back does not allow this. It is clear that health is above all else now.” , - said the gymnast.

Mamun hopes that he will be able to compete at the 2020 Olympics

According to the 21-year-old athlete, she has a desire to compete at the 2020 Games in Japan. “I hope that I can return next season. I would like to perform in Tokyo. I haven’t thought about where I’ll start yet. I continue to train, but the classes are aimed at recovery, at working evenly,” Mamun said.

Last December, swimmer Alexander Sukhorukov proposed to Mamun at the Olympic Ball. The athlete said that the wedding is scheduled for September.

“When I return, I will need to prove my titles again. I need to win from start to start and not lower the bar. Having a child is not in my plans yet,” the athlete added.

Mamun emphasized that her personal life will not affect her career. “We have never had a situation in gymnastics where someone returns after the birth of a child. Perhaps this happens in other countries, but in Russia we have huge competition, no one will wait for anyone,” she noted.

President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics and Main coach national team Irina Viner-Usmanova, immediately after the end of the European Championships in Budapest in May, admitted to reporters that she was waiting for Mamun to return.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships will be held in the Italian city of Pesaro from August 30 to September 3.
