arterial cone (conus arteriosus, PNA, BNA, JNA)
part of the ventricles of the heart that passes into the aorta (in the left ventricle) and into the pulmonary trunk (in the right ventricle).
Arterial cone
the part of the heart in fish (except teleosts) and amphibians, lying immediately in front of the ventricle. On internal semilunar valves are located in several rows on the surface of the AK; they can merge with each other, forming (in lungfishes and amphibians) a common spiral-shaped curved fold. The muscles of the walls of the AC are striated. A. k. is capable of independent contraction and at the same time gives an additional impetus to the blood flow.

Arterial cone- pulsating muscular part of the heart, from which the arterial system of fish (except teleosts) and amphibians originates, lying immediately in front of the ventricle.
It is especially developed and contains several rows of valves in sharks, ganoids and lungfishes, and in other fish the conus arteriosus is reduced and becomes part of the ventricular wall, and only the anterior row of valves is retained. The arterial cone is visible in the heart of amphibians in the form of a tubular section divided by a longitudinal septum, but it is indistinguishable in higher vertebrates (Amniota).
