Where are the best resorts in Vietnam? Holidays in Vietnam: where is the best place to go?

IN Lately Vietnam is becoming more and more popular - people go there on a par with Thailand or Egypt. In this article we will look at the best resorts in Vietnam, and not only beach resorts.

Nha Trang

In Vietnam, the resort of Nha Trang is a tourism center and the most popular holiday destination. Its main advantage is three luxurious beaches with deep sea. Basically, the coastal zone belongs to the city, that is, visiting it is free. Lots of activities, such as surfing or parasailing in tow. The sea is deep, more suitable for adults.

It is very good to relax both in the bay of Nha Trang itself and on the Che and Tam islands - the second is less popular among tourists, and the first can be reached by cable car over the sea. And at a distance of 50-60 kilometers from the city there are the gorgeous beaches of Jungle and Doc Let.

There are many hotels in the city, including 5* ones, but the all-inclusive system is not yet popular. There are several "three rubles". In terms of price-quality ratio, Yasaka and Que Huong are popular.

“Treshki” are very inexpensive, starting from $7 per night. “Fours” are already reaching 40 per day.

There are also interesting sights here - Po Nagar towers, Long Son pagoda, Cathedral, Bao Dai Villa Museum and beautiful waterfalls. A sightseeing tour is conducted.

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

A resort with a double name - Phan Thiet is usually called when booking tours, and Mui Ne - when on an independent holiday. Reviews about him are very contradictory - some consider him best place, and for some, the worst resort in Asia. By the way, there are no hotels in the village of Mui Ne and the city of Phan Thiet - the area between them is called a resort.

If you figure out what's going on, it becomes clear that the problem is in the hotel. The resort has a huge 17-kilometer beach, and different places The quality of the coast and water varies. In cheap hotels, the quality of the coast is noticeably worse, there are no normal cafes and the food is not very tasty. There are areas where the coast is not monitored. There are budget holidays in Mui Ne, but they won’t be good.

There is no airport, and you will have to endure a five-hour transfer. Due to strong waves, swimming is inconvenient almost all year round, but it is ideal for kitesurfing.

There are also significant advantages here - the opportunity to relax all year round, the location of almost all hotels close to the sea, excellent opportunities for active recreation and golf. And there is also a very developed infrastructure in Russian - signs, menus, Russian-speaking staff.

Ha Long Bay

If holidays in Nha Trang are mainly beach holidays, here they most likely involve cruises and exploring amazing natural monuments. 90% of tourists definitely visit the bay and come here practically for its sake. Here on small area There are about 2 thousand islands and islets scattered around, very beautiful and picturesque. The place is protected by UNESCO.

Cruises are organized around the bay - tourists explore caves, travel through Cat Ba Park and swim on wild beaches. The Lan Ha Bay section on Cat Ba is especially good.

Cruises usually depart from Ho Chi Minh City and are organized by various travel companies. There are trips of two to three days and longer, as well as one-day walks, but they are too incomplete.

Cruise ships always sail to the Dauzo karst cave, the Kissing Rocks, the Shyngshot cave and others interesting places.

Ha Long itself has hotels and beaches, although the infrastructure is not as well developed as in other resorts. The coastal area in the city is quite dirty, the water is muddy, so it is better to swim on the islands or on Tuan Chau, 8 kilometers from the city. But usually people come here not for swimming, but for exploring the natural beauty.

Phu Quoc

To the question “Where to relax in Vietnam?” many answer with the name of this island in the Gulf of Thailand. Warm turquoise water, palm trees, light clean sand - everything is like in a real tropical paradise.

There are many beaches, but the most popular are Long Beach and Bai Sao. The first is well-groomed and clean, the second is very beautiful, but located at a distance. There are uncrowded wild beaches in the north of the island, perfect place for privacy.

The holiday here, of course, is on the beach, but you can stroll through the national park, see pagodas and temples, or have fun in an amusement park. There are also excellent pearl plantations here and you can buy inexpensive, beautiful pearls. But the nature of the resort is very beautiful, especially on the west coast.

Fukuoka has very inexpensive and good diving. There are excursions to Turtle Island - two dives will cost $65. There are interesting dive sites off Antoy Island and on the northwestern coast.

Danang

This is a large port, famous precisely for its luxurious China Beach. Tourists come here for gorgeous waves, light sand and developed beach infrastructure. Da Nang is a business metropolis where skyscrapers coexist with ancient temples and quiet beach areas. The Chinese beach two kilometers from the city is no less good.

The tourist infrastructure is developed - there are many hotels, the beaches are equipped with sun loungers, free showers, etc. It’s especially good for surfers here - there are special clubs, the bottom is flat, and the wind is very stable. Equipment is available for rent. The wind and waves are strongest in winter.

Hoi An

This is a Vietnamese city with beautiful beaches, interesting sights and a distinct Chinese atmosphere.

Tourists mainly swim at An Bang. Cua Dai used to be more popular, but An Bang turned out to be more convenient and closer to the center. Both coastal zones are good - they have clean sand, warm sea and developed infrastructure.

Hoi An is an ideal place to combine a beach holiday with sightseeing related to the history of Vietnam. For example, the Old Town with the Chuk Thai Pagoda and ancient houses deserves attention. Tourists enjoy the Japanese covered bridge, numerous pagodas and chapels, and museums.

Con Dao

Con Dao has only recently become one of the best resorts in Vietnam - its government is trying to catch up with local and foreign resorts. Hotels are springing up on Con Dao, the most interesting of which is the bungalow complex from Six Senses.

There are various entertainments - swimming, diving, etc. The fishing here is very good - it almost always bites, you can even catch sharks.

In general, the resort is developing rapidly, and so far holidays here are inexpensive and at the same time quite calm and secluded.

Sapa

Vietnam has not only beaches, but also beautiful mountains, in which the cool resort of Sapa, surrounded by greenery, is located. It’s not worth staying here for your entire vacation - you’ll quickly get bored. There are many hotels, you can walk along the local streets or bargain at the market, but there is no special entertainment. But the place is ideal for hiking in the mountains.

There are Beautiful places- Underwater Palace caves, Silver Falls, Dragon's Jaw Mountain and Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina. Very interesting in the villages of local peoples, Kat-Kat and Ta-Fin. In general, it’s definitely worth a visit here for a couple of days.

Dalat

If you are interested in where to relax in Vietnam with health benefits, then choose the high-mountainous Dalat. Fresh air, untouched nature and, most importantly, many spa hotels that offer luxurious Vietnamese and Indian massage. We especially recommend treatments with hot stones.

The best spa center is La Cochinchine in the five-star Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & SPA.

There are also interesting sights. What remains from the French is a Catholic cathedral, Alpine villas and a radio tower reminiscent of the Eiffel. The railway station building is very beautiful, although now it only serves one flight for tourists to the village of Taimat. But the main local attraction is nature, for example, the Flower Garden with gorgeous orchids, roses, etc. There are also beautiful lakes and waterfalls here.

Vung Tau

This is a very unique resort. You can’t call it a beach beach - the Mekong River flows into the sea, which carries dirt with it. Locals swim, but tourists don’t really like it. Everything is aggravated by strong waves and not very chic landscapes.

In local hotels you can relax from the bustle of the city and swim in the pools or beach clubs. The sea is also relevant, but only for surfing or kite surfing - there are many schools here, there are Russian-speaking instructors, for example, at the Vungtau Beach Club.

Hotels are inexpensive, prices start at $10 per night, but it is better to choose from $20 for comfort. It is better to book a hotel in advance, especially on weekends or holidays.

There are also attractions such as Buddhist temples, the royal residence of Bat Din and the beautiful Hai Dang Lighthouse. And on December 6-11, a gorgeous kite festival takes place on the beach.

We describe and compare the best resorts and beaches in Vietnam - well-known and not so well-known. Reviews from tourists and personal experiences from traveling around the country. Map of Vietnam in Russian with resorts. Choose where it is better to go on vacation!

What resorts in Vietnam can you have a good rest? Let's try to figure it out by looking at the most popular tourist destinations in the country.

Vietnam resorts:

Nha Trang

When to go. Best place to relax in Nha Trang in the spring And in summer. The rainy season begins in October - strong winds blow and the sea is rough. In winter it can be uncomfortable because of the waves, but they are not always there. We vacationed in winter - this is a great time for excursions and trips around the surrounding area!

How to book a hotel? Find for yourself convenient option accommodation can be found on the well-known service Roomguru.ru - the site compares the prices of the most different systems booking and finds the best one.

Cam Ranh

Cam Ranh is a small seaside village located in the bay of the same name. The most famous beach is Bai Zai; people often come here from neighboring Nha Trang.

The beach is only 30 meters wide, but very long, with fine sand and a gentle entrance. There are restaurants and hotels on the shore; on the beach you can rent a sun lounger with an umbrella and go water skiing.

When to go. The climate is the same as in Nha Trang, so come in spring and summer.

Phu Quoc

Where is the best place to go to Vietnam if you want a relaxing beach holiday? Phu Quoc Island is a quiet resort, a diving and snorkeling center. , interesting undersea world, pure water and warm climate. The infrastructure is actively developing, but there is no nightlife and few attractions. Although, which will not leave you indifferent.

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

The narrow 17-kilometer resort area between Phan Thiet and the fishing village of Mui Ne is simply called Mui Ne. This is a jumble of hotels, souvenir shops, bokeh (seafood cafes), travel agencies and pharmacies. Most hotels are located on the first line. The best beaches are occupied by expensive hotels, while the worse beaches are occupied by budget hotels. We didn't like the beaches of Mui Ne - they were mostly dirty. There are shallow waters and waves everywhere, so you can’t swim. But there are interesting sights in the area: red and white dunes, Fairy Creek.

When to go. There are no strong climatic swings here, as in the northern resorts of Vietnam. However, it is best to rest during the dry period - from November to April. Strong winds blow most of the time, so kiters and surfers love this place. They prefer to vacation from January to March, when the sea waves are high. From April to the end of autumn the sea becomes a little calmer.

Danang

This resort in Vietnam is almost unknown among Russians (everyone goes to Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Phu Quoc), the Vietnamese vacation here. The city is large and modern, with spacious streets and not too dense traffic, so it is convenient to learn to ride a bike.

The best beaches in Da Nang with white sand and a gentle entrance to the sea are Bac My An and My Khe. Admission is free, the infrastructure is quite developed. The coastline is wide and long, you can collect a lot of beautiful shells.

A small minus is the distance of the center from the tourist area. There are no large supermarkets on the coast. There are no city buses; you need to go to the center by bike or taxi.

When to go. The high season is short - it’s better to relax from April to June, when it is already quite warm and the waves on the sea are low. It rains from summer until the end of the year, and the winds are fierce in winter. We vacationed in Da Nang in winter: the city and the beach were deserted, but it had its own charm. A strong wind blew, large waves rose in the sea, a red flag was displayed on the beaches, and sometimes it drizzled. During the low season, almost all cafes in the tourist zone are closed, and sometimes it’s not easy to find inexpensive food: the Vietnamese, seeing lonely tourists, raise prices.

If you are looking for the best place to relax in Vietnam with children, then pay attention to Hoi An - the entrance to the sea is gentle there. The best beach is An Bang (the other, Cua Dai, was destroyed by sea erosion and is being restored). Beaches with fine light sand and in some places developed infrastructure. Parking is paid.

Hoi An has beautiful ancient architecture. It is convenient to visit the Marble Mountains from the city - for example, we went there by bicycle (rental costs only $1 per day).

Of the minuses - Hoi An is located on the river, and you need to drive several kilometers to the nearest beach. Tourists prefer to live near the Old Town, although they can also live by the sea.

When to go. Best time - from February to May. In autumn, hurricanes rage and floods occur.

Ha Long

A beach holiday in Vietnam is also possible in the bay of the same name in Ha Long. The beaches on the islands are mostly made of imported sand, and the water is often muddy, but most tourists come here to admire the wonderful islands.

In the city of Halong itself there is not much to do, except stroll along the beautiful embankment with gorgeous views of the bay, watch the inhabitants of the floating villages, admire the sunsets and climb the Bai Tu Mountain of the Poets, from where a panorama of the city and the bay opens.

When to go. The best time for excursions is from December to the end of May when dry and warm, for a beach holiday - in April, May, September and October. The rainy season is from June to September. We lived in Halong in January, and although the sun was often warm, the cold wind did not allow the thought of a beach holiday.

Catba

A picturesque green island located in the bay of Ha Long Bay, the largest in the archipelago. The beaches are most often nondescript with yellowish-brown sand, but clean, without trash or algae. The main attractions for tourists at the resort are island cruises and excursions to the local national park.

When to go. Cat Ba is stormy in summer, so it's better to relax in autumn.

This is a small seaside town with a densely built-up coastal strip and oil production enterprises. The city has beaches - narrow, with muddy and foamy water due to the close proximity to the Mekong and strong winds.

The infrastructure is developed: there are restaurants, hotels, entertainment, shops. However, even locals prefer Long Hai or Mui Ne, where the beaches are better. If you just need a good beach holiday, it’s better to go to the popular resorts of Vietnam: Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Mui Ne or Da Nang.

When to go. From November to April. In winter there are high waves, which are popular with kiters. The rainy season is from May to October.

The island is good for secluded recreation and ecotourism; it is called the best resort in Vietnam for diving. There are unique species of plants and animals here, such as sea cows and green turtles.

The tourist infrastructure is poorly developed, there are no large shopping centers and few hotels. The island itself is rocky, most of the coastline is steep. In the eastern part of the island there are several sandy beaches, all sparsely populated and semi-wild.

When to go. Ideal time for a beach holiday in Con Dao from December to April, for diving - from February to July.

Where is the best place to go on holiday in Vietnam?

Each resort in Vietnam is good in its own way. Those thirsty for new experiences and active entertainment should go to Nha Trang, Halong, Hoi An and Da Nang. The islands are suitable for lovers of natural attractions and diving. For a holiday with children in Vietnam, it is better to choose resorts with good 4-5* hotels and entertainment - these are Phu Quoc, Hoi An and Nha Trang.

If you have decided where it is better to go on holiday to Vietnam, we advise you to find out when is the best time to fly there?.

Vietnam is famous for its heavenly beaches, and go there primarily for their sake. However, this paradise will also appeal to diving enthusiasts - diving here is one of the cheapest in the world, but at the same time it is perfectly organized, and there are interesting dive sites, and you can dive throughout the year, just changing resorts.

Those who like excursion holiday, will appreciate the richness and preservation of historical monuments. There are medieval imperial citadels, French colonial quarters, and partisan catacombs from the Vietnam War. And the natural beauty of such a small country amazes with its grandeur: the giant Mekong Delta, the largest cave in the world, Son Doong, and the bay of 3000 Ha Long Islands. Makes a great holiday seasoning local kitchen with a pleasant French accent.

Tours to Vietnam

Popular resorts

Vietnam on the map is stretched along the meridian with a winding line. At the top, in the north, is the country's capital -. In the center is the ancient capital of Hue, popular among lovers of excursion holidays.

Beach resorts begin a little further south, in Nha Trang, the most famous and popular of them. Even further south follow, especially suitable for surfers and kiters. Below begins the Mekong Delta, as well as the “Paris of the East”, the industrial and tourist center -.

In the extreme south of the country, the sea gives way to the Gulf of Thailand. In it, at the very borders of Cambodia, is located the largest island of Vietnam. Paradise beaches with white sand and coconut palms should be looked for there, on its western shore.

Hotels

The level of hotel service in Vietnam is very high: even 3-star hotels in their comfort and quality of service are close to the European “fours”. And local “fours” and even more so “fives”, especially when we're talking about about historical hotels - this is real luxury.

Animation for children, children's clubs and special entertainment programs are not yet available in every resort hotel; information about them must be clarified in advance. Also, not all hotels operate in the all-inclusive format, which, by the way, is not so much in demand. At Vietnamese resorts, you don’t want to sit in a hotel around the clock when there is so much interesting and tasty food around.

You can come to Vietnam without even booking a hotel in advance. In large tourist centers you can always find available rooms right on the spot.

Tours to Vietnam

Prices for tours for 2 people for 7 nights with departure from Moscow are given.

Weather

Currency

The national currency of Vietnam is the Vietnamese dong. Its cost is such that you should have banknotes of 50,000 and 20,000 dong with you as “changes” to pay for a pedicab (“siklo”) or buy a glass of freshly squeezed juice. The most large bill- half a million dong.

It is best to take with you on a trip U.S. dollars: you can pay with them here as freely as with the national currency. The euro has no such circulation.

Visa

Visa to Vietnam need not for Russians who are going to come for a period of up to 15 days.

Those who plan to stay in the country longer need to obtain a visa. It can be single or multiple, but in both cases it is issued for a period of 1 or 3 months. To obtain a visa, you need to collect a package of documents and contact the consular department of the Vietnamese Embassy. The visa is issued within 5 - 7 working days. However, you can also apply for a visa on arrival at any of the main airports in Vietnam. It's both faster and easier.

Round-trip flights to Vietnam

Prices for tickets per person departing from Berlin are shown.

What to bring from Vietnam

Even by the standards of Southeast Asia, prices in Vietnam are very low, so no one comes from here without souvenirs. Russians often bring tropical fruits, medicinal artichoke tea and coffee from Vietnam, including such an exotic and expensive variety as “kopi luwak”: it is also cheaper here than, for example, in Vietnam. Snake wine and medicinal tinctures for snakes, scorpions and other poisonous creatures have become souvenir classics. Men consider them beneficial for their health.

Women love Vietnamese island pearl jewelry and silk clothing. On vacation, many even order the national women's Ao Dai costume, which consists of a long silk shirt and trousers, from local dressmakers. A traditional conical hat made from palm leaves goes perfectly with it.

The countries of Southeast Asia are conducive to a relaxing holiday. Holidays in Vietnam on your own are no exception. The kindness of the locals and the aura of calm allow you to relax and get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. And of course attending excursions where you enjoy natural beauty and of course you enjoy the local cuisine.

I will try to cover the questions in as much detail as possible, but if something remains unanswered, you can write what interests you in the comments and I will definitely answer.

Vietnam is gradually gaining momentum among Russian tourists. New hotels are being built, infrastructure is developing, and Russian speakers can be found on every corner. And if earlier in the question “where to fly for the winter?” preference was still given to wintering in Thailand, today some still choose a neighbor and there are enough reasons: affordable housing, good level prices, delicious cuisine, eternal summer with sun, availability of transport to move between cities.

We also have an article about the pros and cons of Vietnam and its differences from Thailand.

Basics for solo travel

Today, the most profitable option for traveling to Vietnam is to plan your trip yourself. We always purchase tickets in advance and reserve a hotel or apartment. This saves both time and money. Also, for a comfortable stay in Vietnam, basic knowledge is required.

Vietnam is ruled by the Communist Party, but there is little left of communism here. The country has chosen its own special path of development according to the capitalist model with national flavor. Basically, the country is divided into regions according to geography: South, North, etc., and officially the country is divided into 59 provinces. In addition to the mainland, there are also island resorts, prices there are higher.

Currency of Vietnam: Dong. The money is made of plastic, so it does not get wet. For 1 dollar you will get approximately 22,500 dong. Therefore, by exchanging 100 dollars you will become a millionaire.

Population: Approaching the 100 million mark, the capital is Hanoi.

Religion: Most of the population are Buddhists.

Main language: Vietnamese and at some resorts they don’t speak either English or Russian, so you’ll have to use your fingers to express yourself. English speakers are present where there is a large European audience.

Massage: I would like to highlight this as a separate point. The massage here is inexpensive, but the quality is inferior to Thai.

Before visiting any country, you should definitely familiarize yourself with its features and plan everything in detail.

Where is the best place to go and to which resort?

When preparing, you must definitely decide on the dates of your vacation and familiarize yourself with the weather conditions on these days, both predicted and actual. If you eat for a long period, perhaps this will not be so critical for you, but still. In the winter of 2016, Southeast Asia experienced its worst rainy season in decades and people were forced to stay indoors for more than a month.

The consequences were also reflected in the subsequent weather; while in Nha Trang in February, we observed huge waves and it was not possible to swim there with the children. Therefore, carefully plan your vacation, take into account everything: with or without children, what is your budget, what is most important for you on vacation, etc. If you prefer a quiet family holiday on the beach, then you should go to the islands, for example, Phu Quoc, where the European public predominates, and if you want a party with bars and discos, then choose Nha Trang, Mui Ne.

If the sea is not a mandatory attribute for you, then you can stop at Ho Chi Minh City. I will try to describe the main resorts for you to make it easier for you to decide on the cities, because... Many people view their vacation in terms of exploring the sights and gaining new experiences.

  • Nha Trang— review of the resort. A very rapidly growing resort. It received its impetus for development after the opening of the most famous amusement park in the country - Vin Pearl. The bulk of tourists are Russians and Chinese. Locals mostly do not speak Russian or English, but there are places where they still speak English. There is affordable public transport (bus routes), inexpensive taxis, and many shopping centers and markets. Big choice restaurants for cafes with delicious Vietnamese cuisine. There are almost no beach hotels, because... The main beach is public and accessible to everyone. The exception is hotels outside the city and the Vin Pearl Hotel located on an island next to the park of the same name. Many excursions and attractions, both within the city and outside of it. Clubs and hookah bars for party lovers are presented in large quantities. For families and those who prefer a quiet holiday, there is an excellent embankment where you can walk in the evenings enjoying the sound of the surf.
  • Phu Quoc— . Following the example of the popularity of the famous Thai resort Phuket, the Vietnamese are trying to develop the islands. One of these resorts should be Phu Quoc Island. Unlike Nha Trang and Mui Ne, lazy beach holidays prevail here. If in Nha Trang on the street you will hear mainly Russian speech, then in Phu Quoc European speech will predominate. In the cafe, the waiters speak English, and the menu is adjusted to European preferences. There are a lot of people of retirement age here, but there are almost no attractions. But the Vin Pearl amusement park is already operating, and there are almost no people there, so now it is very comfortable there.
  • Dalat— review of the resort. A city in the province of Lamdog, also known as "Little Paris". It is located in the highlands at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level. He exudes romance from everywhere. And despite the fact that people mostly get here through excursion programs, we strongly recommend going here on your own for 3-4 days to truly enjoy the local atmosphere.
  • Ho Chi Minh City— . The former capital of Vietnam, and now one of the largest cities in the country. It is home to the world famous "Coochi Tunnels" and many other attractions.

Prices for tours to Vietnam:

After purchase, you will receive everything you need for a successful flight by mail. A ticket from Moscow will cost 20-30 thousand rubles.

Sometimes a trip calendar helps us a lot, by which we can clearly select the desired date.

But mostly we use standard form search.

The flight duration from Moscow to Ho Chi Minh City is about 9 hours. The list of companies operating flights is not small: Aeroflot, China Southern, Vietnam Airlines, Emirates, Etihad.

How to book a hotel yourself?

There are many variety of options, ranging from cheap hostels for $7 to luxury five-star hotels with private beaches for tens of thousands. A good room will cost $50, and for this money you can also look for apartments - they may turn out to be more spacious.

As in the case of air tickets, to book accommodation we use well-known services such as booking and hotellook from aviasales.

You will need a debit or credit card when booking. The hotel may charge a small amount when confirming your booking to ensure that the details you have entered are correct. Payment is made directly at the hotel. Flexible cancellation policies often apply.

Visa to Vietnam

Russian citizens are lucky - they can stay in the country without a visa for up to 15 days. You need to present a passport with at least 6 months validity and preferably a return ticket.

Visa-free stay is possible only 30 days after leaving the country.

There are no grace periods for Ukrainians and Kazakhstanis, so they must apply for a visa either at their embassy or upon arrival at the airport. To apply for a visa on arrival, you need a valid passport with a validity period of at least 6 months and an approval letter; you can do it on one of the many services on the Internet. Then you will need to fill out a form, hand in documents and wait from half an hour to depending on your luck. We waited for three hours.

Insurance

You do not need insurance to obtain a visa and enter the country, but we strongly recommend not to take risks and take insurance with you. It costs only 500 rubles. per week and can be easily applied for online. To do this, you just need to fill out a form, select an insurance company and purchase.

Please note that some insurers charge additional fees for insurance claims resulting from extreme sports, including riding a bike. And for an insured event I am able alcohol intoxication They may not pay. Carefully study the insurance rules.

Everyone decides for themselves whether they need insurance. We buy for ourselves to be calmer.

First aid kit

First of all, you need to protect yourself from poisoning. Because cuisine is not always familiar to the European stomach, so first of all we take Activated carbon and anti-diarrhea medications.

The air is very humid, which favorably promotes the development of bacteria, so it is necessary to take iodine in order to cauterize injuries and antibiotics in time in case of illness or suppuration.

For those who have allergies, it is necessary to take antiallergic and antihistamine medications. We also put bandages, alcohol, plasters and painkillers in the first aid kit. Mosquito repellent will also come in handy.

In general, pharmacies have everything you need, some even have Russian-speaking salespeople who can help if something happens. And in order to be completely calm, purchase insurance.

Transport and modes of travel

  • Bike. In Vietnam they say this: if you have a bike, then you have a girl and you will have time for a date. If you have a luxury car, you don’t have a girlfriend, because she left for someone else while you were stuck in a traffic jam. This characterizes the movement in major cities and resorts. Everyone who stays here for some time rents a bike, which costs $5 per day + a dollar for each liter of gasoline. And those who don’t still have one use the services of a bike taxi.
  • Bus. In resorts, especially such as Nha Trang, shuttle buses are also popular; the fare, depending on your location, will be about $0.5. Buses running at night and with sleeping accommodations, the so-called sleeping buses, are popular. They are equipped with toilets and many have free wi-fi. They cost about 10 dollars.
  • Taxi. The taxi network is very developed; you can find our taxi recommendations in a separate article. Prices are reasonable and affordable, about 15,000 dong per kilometer, a taxi can be called either by phone or ordered on the Internet, but basically everyone just goes out onto the street and catches there, there are a lot of taxi drivers and you don’t have to wait.
  • Train. You can travel between cities by train. The price depends on the route, on average from 10 to 30 dollars.
  • Airplane. There are about 20 airports in Vietnam. There are international airports in the following cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Da Nang, Tam Ky, Haiphong, Hue, Can Tho.
  • By sea. Another option is to travel by sea.

Kitchen

There is no limit to the variety of cafes and bars. If you want a Japanese restaurant, there is one; you’re used to McDonald’s, and that’s no problem either. But mostly seafood is popular. The menu has everything from traditional shellfish, shrimp, mussels, lobsters, fish to unusual frogs, crocodiles, ostriches and snakes.

For those who are not satisfied with such arrangements, local entrepreneurs have prepared a cafe with traditional Russian cuisine, where you can taste your favorite borscht or dumplings.

Approximate prices for food:

  • Dinner at a decent establishment will cost about $30 for two.
  • BBQ Buffet - $10 per person + drinks.
  • Soups - 2-3 dollars.
  • Baked or fried fish will cost 2-4 dollars and up to 10 dollars freshly caught on the islands.
  • Tuna steak 2-3 dollars.
  • Mango - $1 per kg.
  • Pineapple - 0.5 dollars.
  • Beer - 0.5-1 dollar.
  • Water, juices - 0.5-1 dollar.
  • Pastries - $1.

Vietnamese coffee is especially worth highlighting. He's great. Drinking coffee is a whole ceremony.

Alcohol in Vietnam is also not expensive, and beer is fresh and tasty. A huge selection of local wine, which you can taste and purchase what you like.

Local Vietnamese eat at small roadside cafes. You've probably noticed near the road small tables with tiny blue chairs where cheerful Vietnamese eat, drink beer and play cards. The cost in such catering establishments is several times cheaper than in a cafe; the difference can be 3-4 times.

Safety

It is quite safe here and nothing criminal happened to us during our stay, but we should not forget certain features. For example, when we were in Ho Chi Minh City and sitting in a taxi filming the city, the driver advised us to close the window, because a passing biker might grab his camera and ride off. Therefore, just in case, we have compiled a list describing how to behave and what to be wary of. Of course, everything must be approached adequately and within reasonable limits, otherwise preparation and rest can turn into a complete phobia.

- Ha Long Bay or Ha Long Bay, is located in northern Vietnam, in the Gulf of Tonkin in the South China Sea. This place is located one hundred and seventy kilometers from the city of Hanoi. The bay is famous for its numerous islands, of which there are three thousand. These islands are home to picturesque cliffs, proud cliffs and mysterious caves. Ha Long is also the capital of Quang Ninh Province and there are no tourist attractions in the city itself. But Ha Long Bay itself, which translated means “the bay where dragons dive,” has been taken under the protection of UNESCO since 1994; in 2011, it was named “one of the seven new wonders of the world” and declared a wonder of nature, because the most famous landscape of Vietnam. Almost all the islands of this bay are rocky; there are thousands of caves with amazing stalactites and stalagmites, small but beautiful waterfalls. Visiting caves is the most popular tourist attraction for vacationers in Vietnamese resorts. Many caves are decorated with lighting, and this makes them look a little like underground palaces. Most often, tourists check into hotels on Cat Ba Island to relax on the local coast. The tourist season in Halong Bay continues all year round, but the ideal time to visit is September, October, April, May. The rainy season in this area falls in June, July, August, September.

Da Nang was founded in 192, it belonged to the kingdom of Champa, but no ancient sights have been preserved from earlier times. Everything was destroyed during the war with America. Today in Da Nang, European tourists are a rarity, but in vain, since the beaches of the resort are magnificent, although rather deserted. But local residents love to relax at this resort. And yet, if you go on vacation to Da Nang, you can get acquainted with the following attractions: the Cham sculpture museum, a large Buddha statue, Mount Bana and the Hai Van Pass, the May Son ruins, Bach Ma National Park, and the Marble Mountains. The rainy season begins in September and ends in December, there are heavy rains, but for a short time after them the ground immediately dries out, although the humidity is high. It must be said that Hoi An is one of those places where the atmosphere of past centuries has been perfectly preserved, and is also a favorite place for tourists. Due to the fact that Nha Trang Bay is half closed from the sea by islands on one side and mountains on the other, the resort is not threatened by hurricanes or storms. The water here is amazingly clear and clean, reaching twenty-six degrees. If you come to relax at this resort with children, then be careful: the depth here increases rapidly, a couple of meters from the shore - it’s already deep!
