There is one rather interesting pie with an unusual shape - this is a pie with spinach and feta cheese. The main component here is feta cheese. Traditionally, it is made from sheep's milk or from a mixture of sheep and goat milk, but such cheese is quite expensive, and it is not easy to find it on sale. Currently, feta cheese is made primarily from regular cow's milk and can have varying degrees of saltiness. Since feta cheese is not subjected to heat treatment, it preserves the most valuable and useful components milk.

To make spinach and cheese pie, you will need:

Puff pastry(yeast) – 250 g
spinach (frozen or fresh) – 100 g
feta cheese – 200 g
egg – 1 pc.
salt, black pepper - to taste
poppy seeds (for sprinkling) – 1 tsp.

Method for making spinach and cheese pie:

1. Prepare the ingredients for the pie.

2. Let's start by preparing the filling for our pie. So, cut the cheese into very small cubes (or simply grate it on a coarse grater).

3. Note that you can use both fresh and frozen spinach to prepare this dish. If you are using frozen spinach, you must first defrost it and then squeeze it very well. excess moisture(Remember, liquid is completely unnecessary in this cake). I used fresh spinach. Cut the spinach into small strips (or larger, as you prefer).

4. Combine cheese with spinach. Then add only the egg white (we will also need the yolk),

salt, pepper and mix everything.

So, the filling is ready.
5. Now defrost the dough and roll it out. Next, cut it into strips 5-6 cm wide (you should get about 4 strips).

Then spread the filling evenly onto these strips. Carefully, slightly stretching the edges, hide the filling inside, make flagella from the dough (if necessary, add flour). Take a suitable baking tray and spread baking paper on it. Then we lay out the first flagellum in the center with the seam down, in the form of a spiral. And thus we continue to lay out all the other flagella in a spiral.

6. Add literally a teaspoon of water to the remaining yolk and beat it lightly.

Now we coat the top of our pie with this mixture, and then sprinkle it with poppy seeds.

7. Place the baking sheet with the pie in a preheated oven (up to 180 degrees) for about 20 minutes (watch your oven).

I really liked the drink, it is very rich and probably even dense, like juice. Most likely because of this, my child did not like the fruit drink. It's a pity. I'll drink it all myself. Delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

Good recipe, thank you very much, but I changed the recipe a little, I didn’t make minced meat, I just chopped it finely and added honey mushrooms and it turned out very tasty!

I made this salad yesterday, bought Feta cheese for it, it seems like it was specially for Greek salad. But this cheese was very soft in consistency, and after light stirring it broke and spread apart. I thought it would be like yours, Lena, in the photo. But despite this, the salad turned out very tasty, and my husband and I ate it in one go. So delicious that I forgot to take a photo of it. Thanks for the recipe.

Tasty! I really liked that the cooking process is divided into two days - just what you need if you work and don’t have time to follow the technology of a classic Easter cake)

Elena, hello! Thank you for the wonderful recipe! This is my second year baking, the cakes are very tasty, extraordinary! There’s only one problem: they don’t turn out very fluffy and low. The dough rises perfectly the first time, but the second and third time it rises just a little bit, 1.5 times in 3-4 hours. It's the yeast, maybe (I use dry safe-moment)? Or do I still need to wait for the dough to rise? Or put more into the mold, just to be sure (not a third, but half, for example?) Tell me, please!

Pie "Boats" with cheese and spinach is very tasty and original. It is equally suitable for a snack as for breakfast or lunch. The pie can also be offered as a snack for the holiday table. The filling of cheese and spinach is simply perfect and harmonious. This pie has a wonderful dough that can be successfully used for other pies or pies.

Pour sifted flour into a deep container, mix it with yeast, add sugar and salt. Pour warm water and mix the dough a little.

Then add sunflower oil and knead the dough well with your hands. Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel and put it in a warm place for 30 minutes, and at this time make the pie filling.

Place the spinach in a saucepan and add cold water, drain the water several times until it becomes clear. Spinach can retain a lot of sand and dust, so it needs to be washed very well. Then dry the spinach with paper towels and cut into 6-7 mm strips.

Mash the cheese with your hands, add chopped spinach to it.

Mix cheese with spinach. Taste the filling; usually the cheese is quite salty and you don’t need to add anything, but be guided by your taste.

Place the risen dough on work surface, lightly sprinkled with flour.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut out circles 5 mm thick with a mold or glass.

Place the desired amount of filling on the circle and pull the corners together, as when making pies.

Line a 28 cm pan with parchment and lay out the “boats” tightly to each other in a spiral. Beat the egg and brush the surface of the future pie.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the pie for about 30 minutes until it is browned on top.

Wonderful “Boat” pie with cheese and spinach is ready for tasting!

Bon appetit!
