Machines operating in aquatic environments experience severe stress. Sealing cuffs for hydraulic devices are an integral part of such devices. Sealing cups ensure tightness between moving and static parts of mechanisms operating in air, water, and oil environments. Rubber sealing cuffs for hydraulic devices are manufactured at the UGRT plant and sold at attractive prices.

Materials and design

The most widely used sealing cuffs are made of rubber; polyurethane is also used for these purposes. Sometimes manufacturers add polymer substances to the composition, which increase the rigidity and wear resistance of products and help extend their service life. When choosing a specific material, it is necessary to take it into account technical properties, temperature regime, pressure and other parameters of the work process. Modern sealing elements are prefabricated products consisting of several components. In some cases, they may contain spring elements in order to provide a tighter fit to the surface and hold viscous materials. These elements are designed to work with oils, which allows them to be used on almost any equipment.
Collar cuffs are produced in accordance with GOST 14896-84, GOST 6969-54 or TU 38-1051725-86. Serve as seals for hydraulic cylinders, sleeves, rods. Retain functional properties at temperatures from -300C to + 500C at high blood pressure. They are effectively used with mechanisms with reciprocating movements.

The main part of the production of molded rubber goods is accounted for sealing devices, on which the performance and reliability of components and mechanisms, sealing and sealing of joints, seams and all kinds of connections depend. The purpose of seals is to prevent or reduce leaks of liquid or gas in connections of machine parts, pipelines and other systems. There are movable, fixed, contact and slot seals. They can have a complex cross-section profile to ensure tightness and the required speed of operation of the mechanism, reduce heating of the working fluid in the system, and protect against the penetration of foreign substances into technical device and preventing external leaks of working fluid. Depending on the chemical composition and physical properties rubber seals can be successfully used in a wide variety of conditions and are used in all industries. Movable contact seals include O-rings, lip seals, and other types of special seals. For example, ring seals manufactured in accordance with GOST 9833–73 are designed for reliable operation in hydraulic systems at pressures up to 32 MPa, in fixed joints – up to 50 MPa. At higher pressure of the working fluid in the system, it is recommended to use rubber cuffs.

For sealing rotating shafts, operating under more severe operating conditions in mineral oil, water, diesel fuel, with excess pressure up to 0.05 MPa, temperatures from -60 to +170 (depending on the rubber group) and rotation speeds up to 40 m/s are used reinforced rubber cuffs (GOST 8752–79). Such cuffs are also called oil seals. These cuffs are reinforced with a metal ring and a round spring. The metal of the ring is in a layer of rubber, does not react with an aggressive environment and strengthens general design, and the spring presses the working edge of the cuff towards the shaft. Certain types of cuffs may be made from fluorine rubber And silicone rubber. This allows you to use reinforced cuffs in a wide range of operating parameters under exceptional loads under the influence of the most aggressive environments.

  1. The letter “C” means that the suitability of rubber for sealing a given group of media is determined by agreement between the manufacturer and the customer;
  2. The sign “-” means that the elastomer is not suitable for sealing in the specified group of environments.

All Harprompolymer LLC are produced in accordance with GOST 8752-79.

Rubber cuffs are seals that are widely used in mechanical engineering and other industries. They provide sealing of moving joints of rotating and translational motion - for example, the piston and rod of a hydraulic cylinder. With their help, leakage of gases and liquids through the gaps between parts of machines and mechanisms is eliminated, and the penetration of dust, moisture and dirt into internal structural elements is prevented.

Types of products

Rubber cuffs are divided into several types depending on their purpose, design features and the document regulating the requirements for them:

GOST 14896-84. Rubber cuffs produced according to this standard are characterized by the absence of reinforcement. They are designed for contact sealing of the rod and plunger in various hydraulic systems. They are used with linear relative velocities of sealed parts up to 0.5 m/s, an operating frequency of no more than 0.5 Hz and a stroke value of up to 10 m. The operating temperature range is from –60 to 200 °C, the nominal pressure is within 0. 1…50 MPa.

GOST 6678-72. This document regulates the production of rubber unreinforced cuffs for pneumatic devices. They are designed for operation in air containing oil and fuel vapors. Withstand relative linear speed up to 1 m/s and pressure up to 1 MPa. Operating temperature range - from –65 to 150 °C.

GOST 8752-79. The standard applies to reinforced rubber cuffs intended for sealing shafts. They can be used with working media such as water, mineral oil, diesel fuel. The pressure should not exceed 0.05 MPa, and the temperature should be within –60...70 °C. These RTIs come in single-edge versions with and without a boot.

TU 38-1051 725-86. These technical specifications introduced instead of the outdated GOST 6969-54. They regulate the requirements for cuffs used to seal the gap between the hydraulic cylinder and the piston. Products manufactured under this standard are intended for the repair and maintenance of equipment designed before 1971.

In many cases, the use of rubber cuffs to seal moving joints is impractical due to the complexity and rather high cost of such products. In such situations, you can get by with a properly sized rubber O-ring. These rubber products are manufactured in accordance with the following standards:

GOST 9833-73. It sets the requirements for the rings round section, which can replace rubber cuffs for radial and mechanical sealing of moving and fixed joints. The products are used in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel and lubrication systems. Manufactured from oil-resistant and heat-resistant materials.

GOST 18829-73. This standard also regulates specifications O-rings. They are capable of replacing rubber cuffs in pneumatic, hydraulic, lubricant, fuel systems with pressures up to 50 MPa (fixed joints), 32 MPa (moving joints of hydraulic systems), 10 MPa (moving joints of pneumatic systems). They can be oil and petrol resistant (MBS) or heat-frost-acid-alkali resistant (TMKShch).

GOST 15180-86. This document applies to flat elastic gaskets of rectangular cross-section. Products can be used in contact with media such as air, water, steam, acids, alkalis, and solvents. Typically they are used in static nodes and connections. Gaskets are suitable for sealing flanges, shut-off valves, and pipeline elements.
