How much does m4 cost? Traffic jams and toll sections on the M4 Don highway

A new toll road will appear in Russia. It will be a section of the M-4 Don federal highway from the Moscow Ring Road (21st km) to the 93rd kilometer. The payment regime will be introduced on January 18, 2016. This is stated in the official statement of the State Company "Avtodor".

As follows from the appendix to the document, the cost of travel through the toll section will vary depending on the vehicle and time of day. For example, travel during the daytime (from 07:00 to 00:00) will cost the owner passenger car 100 rubles, a van or pickup truck driver - 150 rubles, a truck or bus driver - 200 rubles, and drivers of heavy trucks will pay the most - 400 rubles.

Driving along a section of the highway at night will be twice as cheap. In addition, you can save money by using a special device - a transponder. True, there is a nuance here. Let's say, at first, a car driver using this payment method will pay 40 rubles during the day instead of 100. However, from July 1, 2016, the amount will double and amount to 80 rubles.

However, it is worth making a reservation here: the above tariffs apply if you use the payment point located at the 71st km of the highway. But it will not be the only one - there will also be a toll point at the exit at the 62nd km of the highway, travel through which will be somewhat cheaper. Motorists will also have the opportunity to travel for free. To do this, when driving from the Moscow Ring Road, you need to take the exits from M-4 at the 24th, 31st, 34th, 46th, 50th and 57th kilometers. When moving from the 93rd km towards Moscow, those who leave the M-4 through the junctions at the 89th, 81st, 74th and 72nd kilometers will not have to pay for travel.

We would like to add that the toll on the M-4 Don highway from 21 to 93 km is being introduced in accordance with the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 14, 2014.

M4 Don highway: toll sections and useful tips

The main road “artery” connecting the central part of Russia with southern regions– highway M4 “Don”. It originates in the capital of the country and ends in Novorossiysk. Total length road surface is about 1540 km. The road passes through the following regions of Russia: Moscow, Tula, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea. A map of the route can be found at website RuDorogi.ru.

Toll sections of M4 "Don"

Demand for the route M4 "Don"(especially in summer period) prompted the authorities to organize increased control over this facility, as well as to build and launch toll sections in order to prevent the formation of hours-long congestion. The unsatisfactory condition of the roadway with a load of hundreds of thousands of cars per day is simply unacceptable. A minor accident or protracted repairs lead to an endless accumulation of cars, especially near settlements.

Nine toll sections have currently been put into operation on the M4 highway:

  • 21-93 km. It starts right outside the Moscow Ring Road. Passenger transport for 72 km of roadway you will have to pay 100 rubles in the daytime, and 60 at night.
  • 93-211 km. This section is of regional importance, as it passes through the settlements: Uzlovaya, Donskoy, Kimovsk. Traveling 118 km costs 150 rubles during the day and 100 at night.
  • 225-260. Designed to bypass Bogoroditsk. The cost of 35 km is: 65 during the day, 35 at night.
  • 287-321. Section for bypassing Efremov. The price is similar and amounts to 65 and 35 rubles, respectively.
  • 330-414. To bypass two settlements at once: the village of Yarkino and the city of Yelets, a toll section with a length of 84 km was built. The cost is 130 during the day and 100 at night.
  • 417-464. The section passes through Zadonsk. To travel 47 km you need to pay 90 rubles during the day and 60 at night.
  • 492-517. To reduce the traffic flow in Voronezh, where there is already quite a lot of traffic, a toll section with a length of 25 km was put into operation. The cost is relatively low: 40 during the day and 25 at night.
  • 517-544. A toll section running through Rogachevka and Novaya Usman. The cost of the 27 km long route is 50 rubles during the day and 30 at night.
  • 544-633. The 89 km section passes through Ostrogozhsk and Novovoronezh. The cost is: 70 and 50 rubles, respectively.
  • In addition to traveling at night, a driver can save a significant amount of personal savings by purchasing a transponder. At all payment points there is one lane for cars equipped with this device. In addition to non-stop travel at checkpoints, drivers receive a discount of 20 to 50%.

    Useful tips

There are, one might say, three important pillars for motorists going on a long journey in their own transport - where to refuel the car, “refuel” yourself (have lunch) and get medical help if necessary.

Car gas stations are located on both sides of the road along the entire length of the route. Oil companies Gazprom, Lukoil, TNK, Rosneft, Gazpromneft and Bashneft provide their services to drivers around the clock. At the gas station you can not only replenish your fuel supplies, but also purchase soft drinks and food for the trip, as well as rest and go to the toilet.

IN major cities, through which it runs M4 highway"Don", there are many 24-hour pharmacies located near the road. Also in cities adjacent to the highway, you can use medical care. To do this, you just need to go to a clinic or hospital. The main thing is not to forget to take a medical insurance policy when traveling. If something urgent happens, call 112. If the incident happened on the highway, be sure to indicate the kilometer of the highway. It is marked on small blue signs along the road.

If you are going to cover such a long distance in a personal car on your own, and you do not have a replacement driver, you need to take care of a comfortable and safe overnight stay. It is best to stop for the night, covering about 2/3 of the journey - this way you can arrive at your destination rested and well-slept, because on the spot you will still need to solve various organizational issues.

Stay overnight only in roadside hotels specially designed for this purpose, and under no circumstances in a car in a deserted place. Such attempts to save money can be costly for the driver - unlucky travelers are often attacked for the purpose of robbery. It’s easy to choose a hotel, motel, hostel or inn - just read the reviews on the Internet.

Another important point. During the summer swimming and sea season (July-September) it will not be so easy to find a free room on the M4 Don highway. It is better to take care of this in advance and book an overnight stay.

    Possible difficulties

On the road, you need to stock up on specialized cleaning concentrate or just powder and water. All this will come in handy when you drive about 400-500 km and stop and look at your car. After 5-6 hours of travel, a huge number of insects will turn your car into a testing ground, where their own bodies will be the projectiles.

If such stains are completely dry, it will be much more difficult to remove them. It’s easier to quickly wipe down your car with foam concentrate a couple of times during the entire route and at the same time take a break from a sitting position by stretching your “bones.”

How can a car traveler save money on toll sections of the M4 highway? Below are some tips:

    • At night, the cost of travel on toll sections of the road is lower; the difference in price is on average 30-50 rubles.
    • The transponder automatically debits money when passing through checkpoints. It will help not only save money, but also time, since all payment points have a lane for cars equipped with this device.
    • Drivers should be careful with the "60" and "80" speed limit signs posted throughout the highway. In addition, photo and video cameras are installed here to record violations. There are especially many of them in the Voronezh region.
    • Toll areas can be bypassed using duplicate free roads, but this will increase travel time and the bypass roads often have poor road surfaces.
    • Transponder owners will temporarily receive even greater preferences on toll sections of the M-4 Don road.
    • On toll sections of the M-4 Don road, until October 1, 2017 inclusive, tariff indexation will be introduced when paying for travel in cash. The amount of indexation depends on the length of the site. For transponder owners, the tariff level will remain the same.
    • When approaching the toll booth, the user must stop in front of the cashier's booth*
    • Electronic system will automatically determine the class of the vehicle and display the amount to be paid on the cashier’s monitor.
    • If paying in cash, pay the amount due. For non-cash payments, provide it to the cashier bank card(VISA, MasterCard cards accepted for payment)
    • The received receipt must be kept and, if necessary, presented at the checkpoint when leaving the toll section (in the Lipetsk region, 414-464 km of the M-4 Don highway).

*when using a transponder there is no need to stop, just reduce the speed to 20-30 km/h

You can calculate the distance, cost and volume of fuel, and information about roadside gas stations on the website RuDorogi.ru. A map of the M-4 Don highway will be useful to all vacationers with a personal car. And especially for those drivers who decided to drive a car for the first time.

You can also look at areas with difficult traffic in advance and think about detour routes, as the resource “Route M4-Don” advises detour around the village. Losevo, Voronezh region:

    1. At 588 km M4 "Don" go to the town of Liski, then through Kamenka, Rossosh, Kantemirovka and exit at 740 km M4 "Don" beyond the town of Boguchar, 37 km to the border with the Rostov region (there is still an option through the city . Bobrov).
    2. At 595 km M4 "Don" go to the town of Bobrov through Buturlinovka with an exit to Pavlovsk at 671 km M4 "Don" or to Boguchar at 740 km M4 "Don" (an option for those drivers who are already directly in front Losevo village and does not have the opportunity to get around it).
    3. Before reaching the city of Voronezh: at 492 km M4 "Don" go to Voronezh, then to the Voronezh bypass (signpost to the city of Kursk), further along Patriot Avenue, which turns into the Kursk highway E-38 and until the turn to the city of Ostrogozhsk. To Moscow - in a mirror image.

Ways to avoid traffic jams at Platov airport and Rostov from Probka-online.rf:

    1. Moving through Aksai or Tsukerovaya Balka - this way you can reduce the time you spend in a traffic jam, but it will take time to get to these exit points, and the winning distance is small.
    2. Another option when traveling to Crimea. Again Aksai, Leninavan, the road to Azov and Kerch. But this path can lead to traffic jams at the entrance to Rostov from Taganrog or in the city itself, when driving during rush hours.
    3. There is another way through Novocherkassk, we move towards Bolshoi Log and to Aksai and enter the highway after the traffic jam.
    4. At the turn to Novoshakhtinsk, we leave the highway, enter the city, move through Krasny, Radionovo - Nesvetai and go out onto the northern bypass of Rostov. The road is good, we meet small areas with a bad road, but without holes and big bumps. We move towards Shchepkin village, following the signs to Moscow. The road here is new and quite wide.
Beyond the village of Shchepkin we go onto the highway. Route to bypass Timashevsk from the Photo-Review.ru resource. You get to Bryukhovetskaya, enter the village, then to Novodzherelievskaya, then turn towards Timashevsk. We'll have to make a small detour,
